First of all, I am admittedly not a frequent dry cleaner patron, so I'm not entirely sure what I should be expecting, but from the perspective of a young professional, here are my issues with this place (in no particular order): 1) The store hours are 9-6. Seriously? Know your market. Most people who work day jobs start before that and get out after that. It's my understanding that most dry cleaners are open until at least 7. I'll blame my own lack of attention to the store hours posted on the door but when I dropped my clothes off it was basically monsooning outside and I had other things on my mind. The lady who took my clothes (on a Saturday) told me, "Pick these up Monday any time after 5". I assumed that meant I had more than an hour after they'd be ready to get them. False. 2) When I spend $46 at the cleaner for less than a quarter of a load of laundry, I expect unicorns and puppies to jump out of my plastic dry cleaning bag (which by the way did NOT happen). Holy cow, seriously?! 3) I had one dress shirt with a very easily repaired ripped seam. Mind you, trip #3 (3rd day in a row I've been to this place in case anyone's interested) was to pick up this shirt they said "wasn't ready" on Tuesday (trip #2) when I picked up the rest of my clothes. I'll try and break this down for people who have never seen a sewing machine. This would literally require 1 straight seam about 1/4" long. Apparently they're letting their elementary school student intern at their shop because that's who did this repair...or so it appears. Not that Miramar Cleaners will notice my lack of patronage since I probably get dry cleaning done once a quarter at most, but I will absolutely not be back.

I was just a bit concerned about that as I wasn't told upon dropping them off. I was given the option of how quickly these needed to be turned around. Overall a very good experience. Nothing to do with Herman Jackson's, but parking is always an adventure in San Marco and it would be nice if they had their own parking. It would also be nice to have an idea of what the cost was going to be before leaving the drop off but the fact that it was reasonable more than made up for that. The WORST dry cleaner I have ever used…read more I now have two garments that have been destroyed by this facility and an item that is permanently damaged. A black taffeta skirt that was shrunk and discolored- I unfortunately do not have a photo to share of it. A pair of silk Johnny Was pants - the back seam is now split and the ties that were on the front of the garment appear to have been cut off or ripped off. A linen blouse that now has a stain down the front that was not there prior to taking it to the cleaner. In addition to the damage to my clothing, the customer service I have received there has been less than desirable. I was never made aware of any of the damage that was done to my items upon pick up- it was always left as an unhappy surprise for me to find after returning home. Items are seldom ready when they are promised to be. On more than three occasions, employees have been standing out front on their phones only to tell me after returning inside as I wait at the register that items aren't ready because they are short staffed.

How much do you charge per shirt now? I never got a specific answer but was told they do not wash that brand of shirt. That was a completely false statement. In the past they certainly have because at least 90% of my husband's dress shirts are the same brand. A business should not dry clean without asking me when I take shirts in to be laundered. They are my clothes and a cleaners should wash & starch per my wishes. There are too many other cleaners to put up with rude clerks and poor service. I hate leaving a negative review, but just so sad that we've lost great owners and a quality neighborhood business.
