I was very sick, and went home after the appointment, because I couldnt stay awake. I woke up this morning, and went to my pharmacy just after they opened, about 930am. No prescription. I call the office and am told the practioners are busy, and will get back to me. I call an hour later, same story. I call 2 hours later, same story. I call again around 4:30 in the afternoon, and the lady says she'll look into it and get back to me. It's been almost 20 minutes, and still no call back. Im at my wits end.

So, I drove up there--past the sign that says "Walk-In Clinic"--and went inside. I spoke to the receptionist, who told me I could not be seen that day because they only see patients by appointment. I looked at her and said, "But the sign you put up every day on the road says 'Walk-In Clinic.'" She looked at me with a straight face and replied, "Yes, you need to walk in with an appointment." Seriously? If that's how it works, then I guess if you made an appointment but arrived in a wheelchair, they wouldn't see you either. Calling yourself a "Walk-In Clinic," advertising online that you accept walk-ins, and putting a "Walk-In Clinic" sign out by the road--only to turn away someone who actually walks in because they don't have an appointment--is beyond ridiculous. I hope there is a special place in hell for the administrators at Presbyterian and all the trial lawyers in our state legislature who have helped put New Mexico healthcare in this position.

I made an appointment Monday and was seen Wednesday. They emailed me the paperwork which I was able to do prior to the visit, greatly reducing my time there. The staff quickly processed my paperwork and got me into thr exam room in no time. I needed a small surgical procedure, which was rapidly accomplished, with minimal pain or discomfort. My RX meds were emailed in and I was soon ready to leave. The total time spent there was an hour! The staff is friendly and professional, and CNP Piseth Knight was amazing. I've procrastinated seeking medical care for several years and have neglected myself. She didn't nag, or heap the guilt on. She just treated me and let me know we'll fix things over time. Overall, this may be the best doctor visit I've ever had in my life!
