Basic rest area, with large restroom area, vending and picnic tables. Large parking area. Easy in/out.

I'm not sure its actually fair to do a Yelp about a place that you visited for less than thirty minutes but I was travelling down South with the family and when one does a long drive, one will definitely need to find a place with facilities to stretch, replenish the snacks and uhm you know. So when we stopped at this rest area it was just what we needed. A few minutes to recalibrate ourselves and use the bathrooms which were fortunately nice and clean. I didn't detect any kind of WiFi in the place and we had ample snacks already for the ride but they did have a number of vending machines around for those who needed to use them. Suffice to say its always worth stopping for a few minutes if you see one of these stops on your path.

This is a nice rest area. The tall trees and surrounding wooded areas are beautiful. The restrooms are clean and well maintained. The building is rustic and fits in with its environment.

There are lots of things to like at this rest area - clean restrooms are probably the number one thing people want to know about prior to exiting since it's likely the main driving force behind most people choosing to exit the highway here. The number two reason is likely they are exhausted, they need to get out and stretch or catch a short cat nap. I think over the years that would describe all the reasons I've stopped in here. Both North and South Carolina prohibit overnight parking at rest stops. Moreover, North Carolina limits rest stop parking periods to a four-hour maximum. This strict time limit means you'll have a hard time getting a good night's sleep. ... And if you're caught sleeping, you'll almost certainly be told to move it along but it's unlikely you'll get a tap on your window so pull in and take a break...

Heading southbound on I-95, somewhere between the exits for Charleston and Savannah, this rest area was a great stop to stretch my legs and offload some used coffee. The restroom was decently clean and the grounds of the rest area had no trash or litter. There are some picnic tables and an area for dog walking. Not my favorite sort of design, there is a relatively straight entrance into the parking area which does little to help people slow down and lose some of their highway speeds. That said, it's a straight exit that is flat and has a long acceleration ramp so that you can get back up to highway speeds and merge without having to floor it. The rest area has separate parking for cars and trucks. There is also another one for northbound traffic on the other side of the highway. Nice picnic area, many vending machines & places for your fur babies but the womens restroom wasn't the cleanest I was actually surprised at how disgusting it really was.

There's nothing that really stands out there's nothing that really stands behind it's like any other flying J however congestion is the key word here gang. This place seems to stay slammed 24/7 not only what truckers but with travelers and a whole lot more. It's like any other flying J for the drivers the parking lot could be a little congested it's got his diesel pump scale showers laundry TV room etc. The employees are fairly cordial couple were a little attitude. But other than that like any other flying J it's pretty much just straight across the board what you would expect. So no need for a big long review I came in I only went to denny's had a nice breakfast and then there was the I got coffee used the can and I was gone.

About 10 minutes later, Truist emailed me stating Pilot in St. George charged me an additional $151. I called the store and the employee said it's a deposit fee and you they won't cancel it. I called Truist and Truist said it will take 7-10 business days to dispute the $151 charge. If you want to avoid this headache, buy your fuel somewhere else. Thankfully, it was easy to file complaints on the websites for the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureau, and Federal Trade Commission. Have fun dealing with those 3 agencies Pilot!

Since Yemassee is a small town and no search results came up for coffee, I decided to pop in at Marathon before heading out. Our visit was very quick, probably a total of 3 minutes. All I wanted was some coffee for the drive back and it was starting to get gloomy. I grabbed one of the bottled Starbucks coffees and went right to the cash. Some of the features of this station is that there is a Subway to the left, inside the station and they also serve TCBY frozen yogurt. They also sell boxed Krispy Kreme donuts. They have quite a few pumps outside and I don't think large trucks can enter here. I think I remember seeing a sign. They seemed to have all the concessions a regular gas station would, but I didn't pay too much attention, since like I mentioned, I was on a mission to get coffee and get back on the road as fast as we could. Service was fine and quick. I got what I needed and managed to load the kids back up before it started to pour buckets. Decent place to get snacks and drinks for the road, since Yemassee is a real small town and it seems that a big portion of the town is closed on Mondays.

I was surprised when Marathon employee Ms. Reed found me via Facebook messenger to let me k ow my card was found. I so appreciate Ms. Reed took to find me!
