I could be done with the tasks needed to be employed, but instead waited for the inner NE…read more(Broadway) VR to "help". They very strongly suggested an evaluation. The doctor did not have time or insight to see that an assessment (in a stark office with a number of counter productive experiences with providers) would be ineffective. It could not be effective: the counselor did not ask me what was holding me back from employment, so the doctor did not assess for this problem. So I did not get the help I needed. I have done research about the areas that need help, and hope that this will be more effective from here on out. I have spent my savings to support myself while waiting. I'm in a very different financial situation now, with few options. VR counselors have high case loads, but when they ignore, mislead, and lie outright do not help with resources needed for employment. It reinforces trauma symptoms and sends the message that the client is wrong, no matter how the evidence supports his/her requests.

I have turned them into the state and on a national level.THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!

Winters in Portland can be really tough for me because of the cold, rain, and grey skies. I have…read morelong been the poster child for Seasonal Affective Disorder, however in 2025 I'm hoping to change that. To hell with new year resolutions, I'm just challenging myself to find activities that make me happy during the dark and stormy months. I've been doing macro nature photography, antiquing, and finding as many opportunities to play in the water as possible. I recently stumbled upon some photos and reviews from the East Portland Community Center pool and I was amazed to find out folks use lazy rivers in pools as walking tracks! Sure, dear reader, you may spend time in gyms and know this to be a "thing," but it's news to me! Well, I tried it out this week and it's quite possibly my new favorite activity! I get to spend time in the water, make new friends, and burn some calories while I'm at it. The community center is vibrant and bustling with all kinds of folks doing activities they love, which makes me really happy. I'm incredibly impressed with how much of a well-oiled machine Portland Parks and Rec is. They are able to get an astounding number of people in/out of this pool each week with swimming classes for beginners, baby and me classes, lap swim sessions, aqua aerobics, current channel walking, free swim, hot tub usage, and so much more! I love seeing my tax dollars being put to use so effectively. This week I've paid for three individual sessions because I wanted to make sure this new interest isn't a passing fancy, but after a few days as a regular at the pool I'd like to take this relationship to the next level. I'm getting a monthly pass tomorrow! So here's to new activities that make us happy in the new year. That's not a resolution, it's just a good way to live life.

The line took a while while I was there. It's the post office so it's never the cleanest and prices are what they are. They have a self service area right when you walk in but it didn't have what I needed the post office for. There are also priority mail boxes available here for the public to take and use for shipping.

He weighed it and He said it would cost $1.01. I told him I had forever stamps and I would like to purchase the difference in cost for stamps for Xmas cards. (I didn't know how much the forever stamps are worth in 2024) That way I could use the forever stamp plus the additional priced stamp ($.28). He told me "just put 2 forever stamps on them". Why would I want to pay $1.46 per Xmas card when it only costs $1.01 to mail them???????? I had to request 3 times for him to sell me the .28 stamps and he acted like I was so putting him out. UGH. I will wait in line to have anyone BUT BRUCE help me next time. It isn't worth the aggravation of being treated like garbage by a federal employee who makes his living from my taxes!!!
