There were a few good things about this hotel:
The room was quiet
The bed was comfortable and
Lucyle was an amazing server in the lounge area. She was bright, fun, professional and lent the hotel an air of class. She should be working at a Michelin starred restaurant. However, the hotel's superlatives end there.
The Pullman Roissy at CDG has a "party" atmosphere. Techno music pounds while the bar is packed with loud drinkers. Walking into the hotel, it felt more like a club than a hostelry. We couldn't find the check in desk with all the computer tables and computers in the lobby. This is certainly a hotel banking on a young, techno driven clientele. We wanted dinner in the restaurant, but it was full and the staff was completely disorganized. People were forced to bring their addition up to the maitre d' since the servers could not be found. That's when we decided to eat at the bar. The bar was packed, with a bunch of rude and loud dudes having a convention at the hotel. We grabbed the last table left in the lounge. This was close to 10:45 PM.
The room was a lesson in perversity. There was a nice room to shower in, with decent towels and a large sink, but no toilet. That is correct. The toilet had its own cell next to the entrance to the room. This dark, foreboding toilet room had no sink, just a toilet. There were no photos, pictures, just a toilet. Washing up took place in the designated shower room. Get up, wipe, and be careful not to touch anything until you get to the shower room around the corner. If someone is in the sink/ shower room and you used the toilet, you are forced to touch things in the room. There must be more germs than a Uzbekistan campground outhouse in the Pullman rooms. Yech! Oh, the door to the sink/shower room was off its hinges, and we had to lift the door to close it. Pullman, if you want to fix this door, it's room 236.
We asked for a 6:00 AM wake up call that never materialized. Fortunately, we woke up at 6:30, were out by 8:00 AM, wheeled our luggage to the train station, and lugged ourselves on to the train to get off at the utter chaos of Terminal 2E at CDG Airport. Pullman door to terminal check in was 30 minutes.
The Pullman at Charles de Gaulle Airport is a total let down and not worth the expense. Next time, we return to the Hilton. As for the Pullman, "party on" without us. read more
