In fact, Charles de Gaulle airport is only a 45 minute train ride away by RER. The hotel is located on a quiet street. We didn't hear any noise at night which is partly due to a wonderfully insulated window. After a long day of touring, it's so nice to come back to our hotel and walk a block to the magnificent Jardin de Luxembourg to rest our weary feet. All of the staff was very welcoming and ready to answer any questions you might have. A special thank you goes out to Sandy, who helped us negotiate a ticklish situation with an angry taxi cab driver. The Elysa shas a very high standard of cleanliness, and the rooms are cleaned every day. Cleanliness is probably most important to us. We loved the design of the room, which, by American standards is small, but that is to be expected. The bathroom was modern and clean and the shower had great water pressure.. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Two twin beds were pushed together to create a queen and it worked very well. Students from the Sorbonne and other schools add a nice energy to the area make it an ideal location. There are brasseries,cafés, and restaurants in the immediate area. I know this will be our "go to" place the next time we visit Paris.

The neighborhood is safe and has many wonderful shops and charming French restaurants. Front desk is manned 24 hours. The building itself is iconic Paris about 7 stories tall. Rooms are and clean but plainly furnished. Beds and pillows are super comfortable and shower is great. Breakfast in the morning is fantastic. Our room, 504, had wrap around balconies and I have posted three pics from the balconies, including a view of the Eiffel Tower which was gorgeous lit up at night. Price was very good. Front desk staff is very helpful and are glad to help with advance tickets to museums, car services, reservations, anything. Here are the drawbacks. The hotel is going through extensive reservations expected to be completed by summer 2019. So, there is work being done during standard work hours. That also means paper on the floor to protect carpets in the hall and bare newly plastered walls in the hallway while they wait to redecorate. The elevator is tiny so plan on waiting patiently if you are on an upper floor. Some items in the room needed fixing (personal safe and a window handle) but once we told the front staff, they were taken care of. Front entrance and lobby are a little plain but I assume they will get a facelift after the room renovations are completed.

We stayed here because we missed our flight to Ireland and just needed a place to lay our heads for the evening. I was instantly wowed by the vibrant lobby. It was more like a lounge as there were plenty of places to sit and just chill or you could head to the restaurant and grab a bite to eat. The amenities/snack area was also well-stocked by the reception desk and all the items were very affordable. The lobby alone gives this hotel a very chic feel. The staff was also very nice even as we attempted to converse in our limited broken French, but they speak English. We just try to attempt to speak the language of the country we're in to not be like the stereotype of what people normally think. The room was a standard room but the vibe from the lobby slightly carried over into the decor of the room. It was bright and well lit. The room seemed small but rooms in Europe sometimes tend to be a bit more condensed than what one might see elsewhere. The bed was just the right firmness and the pillows were cloudlike in softness. The room was well stocked though with all the necessities (towels, soaps, lotion, hairdryer, etc) and it was nice to be able to take a hot shower with really great pressure. The design in the bathroom was also very sleek and contemporary. It was like having a little apartment. It was super quiet and we were both able to get some well-needed rest. As I said, we were only there for the night and we actually didn't spend a huge amount of time in the room since we went to Disneyland Paris to cap off our time in France. Disneyland Paris is about 45 mins to an hour from the hotel. We took an Uber over there but you can take the train as well. Just be aware that there may be tolls if you take the Uber and your driver will usually ask you if you agree to the tolls. It's not expensive though.

We decided to do the cheesy hop on/hop off tour bus, and the stop was just in front of the train station, down the street. I liked turning on the French cartoons for background noise! Most of the staff spoke English, they gave me an American hair dryer when I didn't understand how to use the one in my room. The bar is also open 24/7, and they had room service available. Complimentary breakfast buffet was included in the room rate, and had a wonderful variety of croissants (don't miss the chocolate croissant!) freshly squeezed juices, including carrot and tomato, cheese and charcuterie, blinis, eggs you can boil yourself, and the cutest little oatmeal topping bar, including dried fruits and crushed Speculoos. My only complaint was that every day, the cleaning lady knocked on our door ass early in the morning, waking us up (we always had the Privacy sign out) and insisted on cleaning the room. There was a bit of a language barrier, but was very pushy and didn't want to take "no" for an answer. Maybe she was required to make sure the rooms were clean, but I just wanted to be left alone. The second day, she walked in and said something along the lines of "just the bathroom." We had a full day plan and had to wait for her to finish, as we never like leaving with someone else in the room. We were also still getting dressed and had to open the bathroom door to block off the rest of the room for privacy. It was a little invasive and the "Privacy" sign wasn't really good for anything.
