The location is just two blocks from the beach in a quiet area of town. The staff is nice but simple things like mention that our safe didn't work and the keys constantly demagnetizing we received the response of yah that's pretty normal. So while they did attend to them known issues here don't seem to be a concern. The pool was nice to have but its not scenic and was currently walled by plywood boards which looks horrible. The pool bar service was either not there or staffed with someone who was untrained. It was affordable and adequate.

It's located less…read morethan 2 blocks from the beach, but the hotel itself lacks any sort of character or any sort of feeling that makes one feel like they're in France. If you like typical American budget chain hotels, stay here. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions about the trains and transportation. The front lobby area was also where a new bar area was located, and the front desk staff kindly poured us a glass of wine on request. With no true ambiance in the front lobby area, it's really up to you to create your own good experience here -- we asked them if there was some light music they could play while we enjoyed our wine, and they obliged, but it was a stretch to hear anything and it really just felt like we were drinking wine in a boring and stale budget hotel lobby, which is exactly what we were doing! Our room on the 4th floor was considered a Junior Suite. It was quite small and the bathroom was not laid out well at all. In fact, there was a door stop near the toilet to prevent the door from crashing into the toilet itself, and on our first day I bashed my toe into it. The door stop was attached to the floor, not attached to the door, so it was really easy to cause an injury. Here I am 8 days after I bashed my toe, and I've still got toe pain. Another interesting note is that the hotel was no where near full yet our room assignment was right next to another guest. February is the slow time in France, and we never ever saw another guest at this hotel. However, we found it odd that the room they assigned to us was smack dab next to the only other guest we think was staying in this hotel, and we could hear everything from our next door neighbor through the connecting door. With a hotel so empty, I find it annoying that they placed us right next to another guest. Had we been staying longer than just two nights, I would have requested they move us. WiFi was easily accessible at the Clarion, and the signal was strong and good. Both our room and the hotel itself felt clean and safe, so if that's all that matters to you, you can check the box YES in that regard. For me, I prefer some character when I travel, and this hotel could have been any hotel in any city due to its "vanilla" flavor. Overall, this stay was fine for what it was, but next time around in Cannes we'll splurge a bit and stay across from the water.

Disappointing Health & Hygiene Failure -- Management Refused to Address Medical Costs!…read more We chose the Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes for its reputation for impeccable luxury and service during our multi-week, exclusively five-star European trip (09/22/25-10/10/25). Unfortunately, our stay was severely marred by a serious health and hygiene issue, which was then compounded by a deeply unsatisfactory response from management. On morning of Oct 4th 2025 my wife, Kelly , suffered multiple insect bites of unknown origin while sleeping in the bedding of our room number 724. The bites were serious enough to cause significant distress, lost sleep, and required immediate medical attention. The hotel arranged for a physician to visit, who confirmed the presence of insect bites and prescribed a course of strong medication, including Ivermectin (an antiparasitic drug), along with topical Cortisone. This required us to pay for the medical consultation and prescription out-of-pocket, expenses we would not have incurred otherwise. While the Guest Relations team did facilitate a room change, the General Manager, Mr. Charles Richez, later formally refused all requests for compensation, including reimbursement for the required medical expenses. The GM cited a lack of "conclusive evidence" (despite the documented physician's report and strong prescriptions) and offered a vague, future-use complimentary upgrade instead of resolving the current financial and physical harm. For a hotel that prides itself on luxury, this failure is unacceptable. The issue is not just the presence of a biting insect that caused physical distress, but the complete failure of the General Manager to take accountability and resolve the tangible out-of-pocket costs resulting from a health hazard on their property. I invite all future guests before choosing to stay at this hotel, to take a look at the pics taken on 10/04 and 10/07/2025 to decide themself what it looks like! Do you really want to take this risk for yourself and your family? Prospective guests should be aware that if a serious issue arises, management prioritizes denying financial liability over supporting their high-value clientele.

HOWEVER, we arrived much too early for our reservation and instead of allowing entry (which I do understand, had it been explained politely and apologetically), we were looked up and down with an air of dismissiveness and told to return later. When we did return we were AGAIN looked at askance because we arrived in shorts - though we explained we brought more appropriate attire to change into as we had had been shopping in Antibes earlier in the day - and nearly denied entry AGAIN until the more senior security person deigned to approve our entry. To top it all off, I never felt welcome to enjoy anything beyond the bar and grill area, the martini was only OK at the bar, my moules were COMPLETELY oversalted (and I like salt!!) and when I told the wait person, all she did was repeat what I said with surprise and clear the table... no offer to bring a comped dessert or drink or knock some $ off the bill. All in all very disappointing. I live in San Francisco which is full of tech billionaires and yet to feel so excluded at the start of this experience and to end with such mediocre food, really was a sad thing. I would have expected more given the glowing article I had read in Condé Nast. Perhaps if you are a straight couple it's a different experience - we are two women, and the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth...

There is a nice adjoining mall and plenty of other shops on rue Serbes. Make sure to bring your $$$ though as Cannes really does cater to the very wealthy. Our room was nice but the view of apartments across the way was nothing to write home about. Besides a slight misunderstanding with a maid (she spoke only French, my French is not to best) the entire four nights we stayed there was very pleasant.

Staff was professional and helpful, breakfast was expensive but worth it. Had an issue one day with not getting neither housekeeping nor turndown service, which in the July heat is more than frustrating when you're lacking clean towels without sand from the beach on them for the next day. Asked the staff if we could have housekeeping when we noticed we hadn't gotten turndown either, but sadly it was too late at night. We went to the hotel lobby bar, where suddenly the hotel manager came and apologized and offered us complimentary champagne, and we discovered the next day the housekeeper had left us a letter of apology and some chocolate boxes for our inconvenience. They absolutely more than redeemed themselves, which says a lot about the level of customer service. I am definitely staying here the next time I'm visiting Cannes.
