I always get the cherry ices: love the bits of cherries mixed in and after a hot day nothing is as refreshing as a cold shaved ice. However, after my lobster roll soirée at Luke's I was in the mood for something decadently sweet( I've had this sweet craving since earlier in the day at Rockaway Beach) After scanning the menu I spotted the Shake menu and went for the Blackout: a delicious concoction of vanilla ice cream, chocolate brownie pieces topped with whipped cream and a cherry( I told them to hold off on the whip as if that would make it less fattening) My first sip was heavenly;just the right balance of vanilla and chocolate. The service is always fast and friendly. Uncle Louie is definitely the sweet spot for the Summer!

Summer, fall, freezing cold outside? Just give me ice cream. There's no wrong time of the year or day for ice cream. And I love Carvel because it doesn't have a chemical flavor or aftertaste - as long as you stick with chocolate and vanilla. I like their cakes too although I think used to be better. I've still never tried the Cookie Puss cake - it's famous but too large for me. It has a legacy woven into American culture. The Beastie Boys wrote a song about it "Cookie Puss." The song is filled with profanity inspired by prank phone calls to the establishment. Howard Stern also references Cookie Puss. Carvel had attracted some odd characters. I guess there's no such thing as bad publicity. I will never give up my Carvel habit. Love Carvel!
