Loved the lady that cut my hair today, she was super sweet and great to talk to. Overall, I would not come back though. I assumed that a trim would not cost too much, but it ended up being $40 before tip. I have long hair and came in simply to cut off the dead ends (straight line cut essentially). The trim took less than 10 min. I was walking out the door by the time my appointment was technically supposed to start. I guess I should have asked for pricing before getting my hair cut instead of making assumptions. To me $40 seems like a lot for a cut that was so simple and quick. read more

I had a very nice experience here today. Back in February, I went to another salon in town and had the worst haircut experience of my life that was pretty traumatizing, and since then I hadn't cut my hair because I had a fear of trying a new place. My hair had gotten pretty dead after waiting all these months and I knew I needed it cut. I went to Yelp to find a salon and picked this one based on the reviews and the pricing ($38 for a women's haircut, which is very reasonable). Michelle, the owner, was my stylist. I explained to her what had happened to me last time and was very attentive to what I wanted in my cut. I think she could tell I was very nervous to be back at a salon and made me feel very comfortable in the new setting. She talked to me like a friend and my anxiety started to go away. She showed me exactly how much she was cutting off and took her time with me. She also offered to style it for me as well. My favorite part was at the end she gave me a business card and told me if I got home later and saw anything I was unhappy with to call back and she would fix it. That's good business right there. I went in today to get a blonde balayage and had an amazing experience! My stylist was very kind and she explained everything she did to my hair, which i've never had anyone do for me before. She let me pick the color of toner i wanted on my hair and made sure i had no damage from the bleach. i wish i asked for her name, because i would definitely go back to her! I love this place! I came in for the first time today to get a consultation for hair color. I wanted balayage, but I had never gotten it before. Victoria worked on my hair and spent almost 4 hours on my uncooperative thick/wavy hair to make sure everything turned out well, even staying past closing to make sure it looked good! It looks amazing! She made sure my questions were answered and constantly checked in to see if my experience was okay. In the end, it turned out even better than I expected!! I went in for an ash brown balayage and received this. I wasn't told by anyone that this would take multiple sessions as I don't know anything about hair. I told tori my previous experiences with dying my hair and that in November I dyed my hair with black box hair dye. She bleached my hair and then toned it once. It was very orange and she was going to leave that be. I asked her to tone it again so it'll take out some of the orange out of my hair. I contacted the manager after the following day and she said that i should've know it was going to take multiple sessions. I don't know that much about hair and nobody mentioned another session I asked tori if she could do it and she said yes. I've had two nice experiences here. Whitney did a great job the first time and I asked for her the second time. I explained that I love my hair long and want only the bare minimum split ends cut. She did just that both times and also took care of my unruly bangs. I thought it was very courteous and professional that Whitney called a few days later to ask how I was liking my haircut- great customer service! I had to take off one star because of the lack of professionalism from the staff. I'm sure it was typical barbershop gossip, but the other stylists were talking poorly about mutual friends and I did not care to hear that. Additionally, I found Angela kind of creepy. She positioned herself directly behind Whitney's salon chair and stared at her cutting my hair for the entire time. She looked very grumpy and it was just unpleasant. I have been there twice, once to get my 10 inch locks off, and another to trim the ends of my short hair. I searched for a good place in College Station for Asians to get haircuts and I was not disappointed: I received a lot of compliments on my hairstyle and my hair looks healthier than before. The music at this salon is great, and the hairdressers are very professional and well trained. I had a great experience at Hypnotik. I was able to get an appointment less than an hour after my phone call. My appointment was with Ashton who was very friendly and very helpful. I went in wanting something different while keeping the length that I had. She did a great job with my hair, and I've already gotten several compliments. I asked Ashton for advice on how to style my hair, and she walked me through the entire process. At many salons, stylists push the products sold their, but this was NOT the case with Ashton. She only mentioned products after I asked her for recommendations. I was also impressed with the price. I've just moved here from California, and just about any place I've ever gotten my hair cut charged extra to deal with long hair (mine barely touches my shoulders) and/or extra to blow it out. I have noticed two things about hair salons that I absolutely love: (1) when you walk out, you feel like hot stuff, and (2) they give you beverages. Of course #1 is more important, but this place did neither. The first time I visited Hypnotik, Kylie cut my hair. I liked the haircut, but she did a horrible job on my bangs. When I saw that I didn't like my bangs, I tried getting her to fix it, but her fix just made it worse. After that, I didn't want it to get even worse, so I let it be. The second time I went, Jennifer did my hair. She was really nice and tried really hard to do a good job. This time I brought a picture of a time when I liked the way my bangs looked. She used it as a reference, but it still didn't come out right. I cannot describe what was wrong with it, but it just looked weird. Jennifer tried to fix it, and it did get better. However, I was still not 100% satisfied. A couple of days later, Jennifer called me to make sure I liked my cut. I did not have time to go back for her to fix my bangs, but because of her wanting to give me a good experience, I booked another appointment with her for my next haircut. My experience was pretty much the same as before. I liked the haircut, but the bangs were off. My overall assessment is if you are getting a regular haircut, this would be a good place to go. However, if you have bangs, I would suggest looking elsewhere. Personally, I am going to continue my search for the salon I love in College Station. read more

I have long brown hair, and see services such as a haircut, manicure, car wash etc. as a waste of time and money as I can do them myself. After not dying my hair in over a year and a half, and trimming my hair myself, I finally broke down and went in as my dead ends were frayed and looked tortured. Kylie did a fantastic job at my request of a simple trim to cut off the dead weight, and transforming my long choppy layers to flow. The salon was clean and modern and I didn't feel the pressure to talk awkwardly as I have at other places in CS.
