It's been so many years since I've bought shoes in Adelaide. I noticed this cool-looking shopfront once or twice walking back to the busy stop, but just because it looks good from the outside, doesn't guarantee satisfaction inside.
As soon as I did, my eyes enjoyed a few things (ohh...red Adidas! Lacoste shoes!) as I browsed around. But...that was it.....Yep! It's the perfect definition of doing it with a one-minute partner! It's such a small store, there really isn't much that catches your eye except those one or two brands. There are other boots to choose from, for the keen guy who is into those kinda things.
I was initially attracted by the black walls, mixed in with the bright colours of their shoes. But within a few seconds, I soon realised that their service sucks! And I'm not being harsh! After experiencing some other 5-star and 6-star service in other stores prior, they really really suck! Especially with the lack of close attention and help of the loud 4 or so staff who literally would just stand together at the back wall cash register and just muck around with boxes of shoes. The first shop assistant was no help at all. I sat down, she gave me a pair to try, and then literally WALKED AWAY to the other end of the store! I mean, what was all that about? Does my purple business shirt scare you that much? After the first size was way too big for my heel, shel took way too long to come back and tell me that they had nothing in smaller sizes. After all 4 shop assistants approached me and each one told me they had no size 9s in lacoste, I quietly walked away with a tiny catalogue. There wasn't much to compliment about this store. I left feeling so inadequately served! :(
Hype DC is NOT worth the hype! It feels more like a dark hospital for the mentally ill, than a shoe shop of dreams, if you ask me. If you're looking to be left uncared for, this is the place! Seriously, I'm gonna get my shoes elsewhere after that lack of service. Thumbs down. As Public Enemy once rapped, "Don't believe the hype." read more
