It has really good off street parking and it's barely five minutes out of the city centre, so it is a very good spot to do some shoe shopping women! Okay, tell your best friend and your poorest friend but only them; it would be horrible to think they are suffering from scrunched up feet or wet feet from holey shoes. But if you go telling everyone they may sell out! Actually there's a lot of stock, and it is a good variety - the only thing that says this is a shoe warehouse direct to public style of store is the blandness of the interior, but really, who needs plush carpets and snazzy lighting to wiggle their toes? Actually if you tell more than your poorest and best friend, you may bring in some more customers and then between you if you all go together you could end up buying three purchases. If you buy three things and each are worth $50.00 or more you are entitled to a "Loyalty Discount Qualification" (!) which is a 10% discount off of all purchases for twelve months... Not bad eh! Maybe you should tell everyone. Who doesn't love a discount voucher - in a shoe shop even?!

If you weren't looking for it, you would probably not notice it was there. There is literally no indication that there is a shoe shop on that street unless you happen to catch a glimpse of the big red sign (and read what it says) as you drive past. If you do happen to notice the sign, when you turn in all you will see is a parking area with a door towards the end on the right hand sign. Very unassuming, but for the female shoe shopper looking for a bargain, definitely a treat. As a factory outlet store, the shoes they sell there are cheaper than what you'd normally find in Myer or David Jones. Also, they don't sell cheap shoes either and are they actually stock good quality shoes with actual brand names like diane ferari (I can't believe I know this stuff). From boots, to casual shoes to heels, it's a plain looking shop on the inside, but what it makes up for in lack of flash is in its wide selection of shoes for the shoe hungry female shopper.

There are some very nice shoes in here, however after the neat and attractively arranged shoe shops on the other side of the mall, this shop feels overcrowded and messy, with all the shoe boxes stacked along the walls. It isn't actually mess, it just feels that way! Their prices are as high as all the other shoe shops in the centre, yet you feel like you should be in a discount store. In a place where appearances really do matter, they're selling themselves short.

Although this is a store which stocks quality European shoes, the service, in my opinion, really lets it down. One of these 'assistants' couldn't tolerate my wanting to browse unhassled by her interuptions, then brazenly argued with me about my correct shoe size which I have had measured by the best professionals, and have been wearing comfortably for decades. Later, while at last managing to browse on my own, I was verbally bullied in a grating, patronising voice over the top of the heads of other customers - from halfway down the store. At this, I made a hasty exit, and was able to find an ideal pair of shoes in just ten minutes in a nearby shop where the staff could not have been sweeter or more helpful. A friend visiting the same store on a weekday last month was told by the two women just before 5pm that they were about to close. When she enquired about the exact closing time, the both tried to avoid answering; but when she persisted, the women told her - and any other customer within earshot - to hurry up as they both had appointments and were not staying a moment after 5.30pm.

I would probably recommend them to men, as their shoes looked pretty nice, and looked very comfortable. The store down Unley Road is a factory outlet, and therefore they have a lot of their stock on special for around half price, generally the older stock. So if you're looking for a pair of good quality shoes and don't want to pay full price, then come and have a look see whilst you're shopping down Unley Road.

My local and often visited coffee shop is on the opposite corner and has a view of the Va Bene side window. This can be pretty dangerous for a shoe fiend as sipping a latte can often lead to going home with a new pair of shoes. Not so good when the cupboard is already full to brimming with hardly worn pairs. What can I say other than they simply have a great collection of shoes that tempt me time after time. If they don't have your size, they will do their best to get the right size in for you as they did for me recently when a brand new pair came from the distributor. The staff are very helpful and there's always a bargain or two to be had as they regularly markdown their full price stock. Their product is top quality as demonstrated by a pair of black boots purchased two years ago that will stump up for another season again next winter. Sorry fellas but this is a ladies shoe shop, which prompts one to ask - what is it with girls and shoes? The Arkaba Shopping Centre is an unusual complex …read more It really caters for all your weekly shopping needs, however, it lacks something I can't put my finger on. It offers a full-size Woolworths, Australia Post, newsagent, cafe, chemist, hairdresser, butcher, fruit & vege, bakery, shoe repairer/key cutter, photo service and a Hearing Centre. It could be that given it's small size, there is no centre management. The new supermarket brings a greater number of customers to the centre, but it still feels under patronised. The centre really struggled while Woolworths spent six months in 2010 renovating the old Bilo/Coles site and extended into the Cheap as Chips store. It now has more parking and the interior has received a modern renovation. This is walking distance from me, so I'm here quite a bit. Unfortunately, I have heard Woolworths intentionally undercut the fresh fruit and veg, bucher chair and bakery. I wonder how long these places can service with this practice in place.

Let's look at that for a moment - I'm a Woolworths fan, although I did used to use it for the slightly different offering of the BiLo store that used to be there. The newsagency has a good range too, and I'm a sucker for a good newsagent - the cafe serves good, dependable food at a decent price and the bakery is downright cheap. I used to use the Post Office here 'cos it was never too busy, the butcher gave great service and I really liked the Chemist, too, quick and efficient, great range. I'd go out of my way to recommend the photo kiosk - preferred that in his own store but the kiosk works these days. Even the shoe guy is dependable, good at what he does and priced very fairly. There is plenty of parking, it's easy to get to, there's even some undercover parks - and the whole centre is air conditioned. OK, I *do* miss Cheap as Chips - that was my favourite store in the Cheap as Chips network and a definite drawcard for shopping at the centre, but it's not like I can't live without that... it just doesn't have something to draw me. In fact, that's it for me - it's lacking a draw card - I could go there and get anything I need - but there's lots of places I can get all that... what I don't get, at the Arkaba, is something I can't get anywhere else.

The staff, Melony in particular was outstanding in her customer service, however the owner was rude and passed offensive remarks suggesting to check that our money may be counterfeit only to realise that he was in the wrong. He probably passed this comment because we are people of colour. The only reason why we continued our transaction was because of the lovely Melony who spent a lot of time helping us and we didn't want all of her time and effort to go to waste. If a person wants to be in business, he should learn to treat his customers with respect and if he thought there was an issue he could have done so discretely and not embarrass his customers infront of others.

Finally, the prices are reasonable considering the quality and designer brands. That's right, ladies: designer brands! I can hardly contain my excitement.

They have two stores in the Adelaide CBD: one is "The Boutique" situated in the Central Markets, the other is "The Showroom" situated on Gouger St. They seem to be doing well judging from the amount of people that were trying on shoes - young and old, I might add. "The Showroom" store is where you will find more fashionable designer styles, while "The Boutique" store is where they specialise in comfort and work shoes with brands like Birkenstock. Here, they also do more specials, and stock more leisure and casual shoes, plus outdoor hiking shoes and boots. I bought my work shoes here a year ago. They have lasted me all this time while maintaining comfort and minimizing tired feet after an 8 hour shift at the cafe where I work. With their wide range and friendly, knowledgeable service, Lana Lang is a trustworthy place to shop. Oh, and they also do repairs and alterations for affordable prices.

I walked on a treadmill while my feet were video'd on an ipad and then we watched how my foot rolled/moved in slow motion and what options that meant for my feet. Over the years I've bought shoes online (guessing a suitable model) and also shopped at the warehouse style shops in the city where the poor staff are trying to serve five people at once. Having just spent a few hundred dollars at the physio with an injury she believes might have been caused by the wrong running shoes, I am glad I went to this place. I'm happy to report I've discovered I don't have to pay any more for great service and range and having been signed up as VIPS (a free membership) for an extra 10% discount, we'll definitely be back.
