It's truly a sisterhood- not only are classes fun but they seem to encourage bonding and friendships inside and outside of class time. I teach high school, so I get clique mentality, and I don't see it at this studio. 1. Kymberlee's Super Fly class is SO. MUCH. FUN. I sweat a ton, get to dance to great music and always leave smiling. I love her narration- she is really good at getting your focus with humor. 2. Cize It Up and Turbo Kick with Natalie are great-Cize breaks down choreo into more digestible chunks and repeats for practice. Turbo Kick blends kickboxing, step and dance- it's exhilarating and exhausting and you're left feeling fantastic. 3. Lydia is so high energy and hysterical. I hope her recent pop-up becomes a regular class. She literally smiled more as she continued teaching Zumba- it was very motivating. The minutes fly by and I sweat a ton- plus, there are women of all ages, sizes and abilities that also attend- so I constantly feel comfortable and also motivated. Finally, let me just say that this is a business with clearly established prices and procedures- so a person has to pay for missed classes and sign up in advance. I am encouraged by an empowered female owner who has high attendance in her classes and connected social events. I see genuinely excited instructors who leave me feeling better about myself. I see people who remember my name and invite me to come back.

Time to get my ace moving again and I'm so glad I finally checked out Fly Girl…read more It's a smallish studio but they offer different classes--Zumba, Booty Boot Camp, Cardio Dance, Strength conditioning, even kids zumba classes--just check out their website for class times. I come mainly for Zumba, it's fun shaking out the blahs and getting some cardio exercise in. And if you're not smiling by the end of class, then you're doing something wrong. I've been to Kymberlee's and Tyler/Zac's class. Kymberlee has been in fitness for-ever, a major player for Bally's and Bull's Cheerleader. I have known her for years and her personality really shows when she's teaching the class. Tyler/Zac's class is also a lot of fun...quite different for me to have two instructors during class, but it helps when the routines are new and you get two different views to follow. The music is sure to get you dancing. Like I said, it's a smaller studio, but I like the feel to it, you get to chat with the instructors and they really try to get to know you too. Payment wise, they offer drop-ins, punch cards or unlimited passes per month. Totally worth the price of admission. Great place to channel your inner Fly Girl!

Well, we thought my older kiddo was done with gymnastics. We were wrong. We took one session off. Halfway through the next one, both kids asked when they could start gymnastics again. I guess they just needed a break. They continue to love the program here. Having boys, it's important the program isn't cutesy. Oh the horror! But not here. They do pommel horse, rings, bar. Floor work. Handstands. You name it! Over the years, we have had terrific coaches. We do appreciate having men as the dedicated coaches for the boys as they've gotten older and in dedicated boys classes. They get a crazy workout that they love. They always end sweaty and happy. Heads up! If you sign up a sibling for classes, you get a discount. e

Our vacation in Lake Geneva started off with spotty weather. Seeking to find an indoor activity…read moreplace our B&B suggested Climb @ The Loop Commons in Burlington, WI. Climb is a bouldering gym that caters to all skill levels. Bouldering was on my bucket list and since we had the day free, we made the brief 20 minute commute to the facility. Once there street parking was easy to find. Arriving on a weekday allowed us to have the gym to ourselves. The lady at the front desk checked us in, we signed waiver forms and got fitted for bouldering shoes. The changing area, locker room and gym are downstairs. The gym is a 2 story space that has colored coded bouldering routes a.k.a. "problems" to solve. The beginner level routes were labeled green and since my husband and I had zero bouldering experience, going green was the way to go. The lady who checked us in, I forgot her name but we got to chatting and learned she was a former Naperville, IL resident, was super helpful. She got us started on our first problem and gave us quick and useful techniques as we were maneuvering through. We did a total of 3 problems each and had fun going through them. Bouldering takes dedication, strategy, physical strength and dexterity. It is definitely a total body workout which left both hubby and I sore afterwards using muscles we don't normally use day to day. Regardless it was worth the experience. We got a good workout, had lots of fun and found an indoor activity we could see ourselves doing in the future.

Had a great experience getting a personal yoga session with Debra. We started off with some…read morerestorative and finished off with some fun aerial tricks. I'm not new to yoga but even with the knowledge I did have, Debra expanded my practice more than most have over the past few years. Great pointers, adjustments, tips and just overall education on the movement into the pose, and not just rushing in to the pose. Yoga is called a practice for a reason. If you take the time to learn the poses correctly, your body learns where to go, like a bungee cord. It's also hard to unlearn bad habits, which I'm excited to do with Debra! The light therapy massage table is also a must try, felt so good on my spine and the heat was perfect! #yogaforlife #yogis #yogapose
