In one case, their quote was less than half of a competitor from the Detroit area that was trying to break into our market in mid-Michigan. (What a scam - and it's proof that on big items it definitely pays to get more than one quote.) We were impressed by the way they kept the clean-up constantly going from taking off the old shingles until the job was completed. They took great care with our substantial landscaping too. The team showed up when promised and finished the re-roofing quickly within a few days. The owner was wonderful to deal with, and we were very happy with the job they did. I strongly caution anyone considering Clarkston Roofing. Our experience with this company--and its…read moreowner, Tony--was deeply disappointing and frustrating. They failed to complete the job, leaving parts of our home exposed to the weather for two full months. We hired Clarkston Roofing to re-roof our home and install aluminum siding on 10 windows. The salesperson recommended adding five roof vents ("roof cans"), which we agreed to. When the crew completed the roofing, I noticed they hadn't installed the extra vents. Only after I pointed it out did they correct the oversight. That alone raised red flags about their attention to detail. The real trouble started with the aluminum window siding. When I showed Tony how poorly it was done, he admitted it wasn't up to his standard and promised to "get his best siding guy on it." That was on May 12th. It's now July 12th--two months later--and no one has returned to complete the work. Meanwhile, our windows remain exposed. I had to repeatedly call Tony week after week, only to hear excuses like, "He's on a big job, he'll be there next week." Every promise turned out to be empty. The lack of follow-through and professionalism has been appalling. I paid in full the roofing portion, in cash, trusting that they would honor the agreement and deliver the rest of the work on our signed purchase order agreement. I didn't haggle or delay payment, trying to support the crew and show good faith. That was a big mistake--they took the money and never came back. This company does not stand behind its word or its work. I would not recommend Clarkston Roofing to anyone.

Rotten egg smell came back after two weeks. We called them back out. The guy came for 15mins told me to disinfect our water heater and change the whole house filter. Charged us $70. We went to take the anode rod out to disinfect the water heater like the guy suggested and then realized when they replaced our anode rod they stripped the bolt so we cannot get it out. We also found a large dent on top of our water heater as well from when they came out the first time. Called them and ask for them to come out and take anode rod out so we could disinfect our water heater like they suggested. They said to do that it would be $80 an hour even though their technician is the one who installed it incorrectly and striped the bolt so we can't get it. I will not be charged for them to come out to correct their mistake. I will be calling another service to our house to help us get the anode rod out. Outrageous. Do not recommend.
