The music and energy give it a real identity, not one of those places trying too hard to be something it's not. The food is where it really earns its reputation. Everything comes out flavorful and well put together, with a clear Southern and comfort-food influence but elevated enough to feel like you're getting something special. The fried chicken is a must--crispy, seasoned right, and not greasy. Sides and drinks hold their own too, which isn't always the case at spots like this. Service can be a little hit or miss depending on how busy it is, but nothing that takes away from the overall experience. It's a place you go to enjoy yourself, not rush through a meal. Bottom line: Red Rooster is worth going back to, especially if you want good food, good music, and an environment that actually feels alive.

Unfortunately, after that, the rest of the experience did not meet the standard I've come to expect from a Marcus Samuelsson restaurant. I've visited Hav & Mar three times already (and actually have reservations again this Thursday!), and I've also had a wonderful experience at Metropolis, even during a chef pop-up event where the service was still top tier. That's why my Mother's Day experience was especially disappointing. From the moment we called the restaurant an hour before our 5pm reservation, to the hostess abandoning the hostess stand to look for menus and when she arrived back, called another party to seat them ahead of us and when I made her aware of this she said oh, I forgot about y'all without even looking me in my eyes, this poor service lasted until the very end of the evening, there seemed to be issues every step of the way. We sent our fish back because the sauce at the bottom was freezing cold and my mom had to ask for S&P for her entree! When we asked to pack our food to go, we were handed plastic quart containers because the restaurant had somehow run out of standard takeout trays. It just felt very disorganized overall. I truly wanted this visit to live up to the experiences I've had at your other restaurants. Red Rooster Overtown's decor was amazing and so was the music playlist but unfortunately some of the food and the service missed the mark for me. For now, I'll happily stick to the amazing food and hospitality of MS restaurants back home in NYC.

The third floor was closed, many vendors weren't operating, and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable. On the second floor, there were transparent glass floor panels, some of which appeared damaged and taped over with duct tape, creating a serious safety hazard for anyone walking through the area. The food safety issues were even more alarming: At the Italian spot, a worker had a baby in a stroller next to the cooking area, and food was being prepared in what appeared to be unsanitary conditions. The pasta and sauce tasted off -- my kids wouldn't eat it. At the chicken vendor, the chicken tenders were undercooked. Later that night, we experienced severe food poisoning symptoms (vomiting and diarrhea). At the taco stand, the employee handled raw chicken and then, without changing gloves, touched cooked food, tortillas, and condiments. That's blatant cross-contamination. I threw the food away immediately. This is not just a bad experience -- it's a serious health hazard. I will be reporting this to the appropriate authorities. I would not recommend eating here until major improvements are made.

I was in the area and this building caught my attention so decided to check it out. There are so many vendors inside and a wide variety of food options from Asian, Peruvian to American cuisine. This was on a Monday morning and did not see much of a crowd but I am sure it gets busy on the weekends and on peak hours. The place looks clean and modern inside. There is a cylinder shape wine cellar that is actually the main focal point. Hard to miss. Really liked the glass floors and glass stairs on the second level but can the ladies walk over it without the people downstairs staring up? This looks like a great place for groups getting together for lunch or dinner and want to try the different food options.

I was excited to see they had Neapolitan pizza - my absolute favorite. When done right, I can legitimately eat it everyday. It was also a Wednesday and they have "Weiner Wednesday" - all beef hot dogs with various toppings. We ordered the Margherita pizza, with a side of prosciutto and extra basil, a char and cup pepperoni pizza and two hot dogs - one regular and one cheese and beef. I also ordered two flights and tried the majority of the lighter beers and IPAs. I liked all the beers except for the vanilla sundae IPA...that was an interesting concept but a bit too sweet for me. The Pilsner was my favorite - super crisps and delicious. The staff were super nice and attentive and the decor is fun with a lot of string lights. The pizza was delicious- I am so picky about pizza and it was so good. I wasn't expecting a brewery to have legit Neapolitan pizza but they did. The hot dogs were tasty took on a sesame hot dog but which I thought was a nice touch. The only thing I wish they'd done differently was toast the hot dog bun. It got a bit soggy while I was eating due to the toppings. This is a popular brewery but it still felt really chill. Bathrooms were clean and kept up. Honestly would be here all the time if I lived in this area. Very highly recommend!
