First of all, she was on time when I had my appt at 2 pm and I was done by 2:40 pm. I had just went in for a haircut and style. I asked for long layers with face framing bangs and she gave me just that. When she shampooed and conditioned my hair, she gave me the best head/scalp massage and it was so relaxing. I had my first experience here, a consultation on Nov 11th, after struggling to find a salon that works for me, and was so thrilled by this salon. Beyond it being a beautiful salon when you walk in, everyone here is incredibly kind and welcoming! Claire did my consultation and even though I wasn't sure how to explain what I was looking for, she knew exactly what I was looking for. She made me feel comfortable and confident in my upcoming appointment. During my consultation she also fixed my curtain bangs, and they fit my face so much better than what I had before and gave me so much confidence. She was so fun and easy to talk to as well. Honestly I think that the owner reaching out to me directly regardless of me changing my review or speaks volumes of this salon. I genuinely felt the colorists ENSURED I would leave with my hair HEALTHY which is the most important! What more can you ask from a salon? Literally they acknowledged a wrong and were adamant about correcting a mistake! Not everyday do you encounter people that are genuinely trying to help you and want you to be happy their services provided. Perhaps I was too upset giving my original review oorrr maybe not. I was in town for work and decided to schedule a blowout. Shyanne took really great care of my extensions and her washing almost put me to sleep. I was offered a drink upon arrival and was even able to start my appt early. Salon was super cute and they use/sell Oribe products which are the absolute best. Love it here! Lexie is by far the best hair stylist I've ever had. Not only is she the sweetest, friendliest, most caring stylist I've had, but she's also just EXCELLENT at her job. I have curly hair so it's always been hard for me to find someone who does it well. So once I found Lexie, I knew I'd never go anywhere else. I trust her completely and always leave her chair feeling beautiful - 10/10 cut and style. Plus she makes it feel like I'm visiting a girlfriend for brunch every time I'm there. Like genuinely, she's become a friend. We even have the same nail tech now - who she connected me with. And lastly, she's taught me more about my hair in a single appointment than I've learned in my entire life. I called for pricing for cuts for me and my daughter and was quoted $35 each. Great. We booked and the service was nice. The washing hair area is peaceful. My daughters stylist did great on her hair. Mine was OK but I know most stylists struggle with my hair type so nothing new. She was sweet and tried so content with the effort. We booked a follow up apt and the bill was around $120. I of course was shocked. I asked the girl at the register how the price had gone up in about four weeks. She said oh we give you a first time client discount and then start charging full price on the next visit. I told her none of that had been explained when I called or booked the second apt. She just said its policy and I had to pay it. No offer of sorry for miscommunication or offer to take a few dollars off due it with the understanding that would be the price the next visit. Just a pay up attitude. So, I paid and waited for my daughter to finish up. We haven't been back and don't plan to. It felt like a scam and no cares given. Its a pretty interior building but I don't like feeling as if they are being dishonest or trying to lure me in to scam me out more. Just be upfront with prices or at least try to seem like you care when a client has a valid concern. read more

I have been getting my hair done by Lexie at Hyde Salon for over 4 years now - SHE IS THE BEST and does the absolute BEST blonde highlights!!!! I used to be local to Columbia but now I drive 1.5 hours just to see Lexie because I trust her more than anything to make my hair perfect! And then you are stuck with a bad style that is impossible with a counter full of products that you don't need?!! Well, if that is what experience you don't want, you need to go see Allison and feel like a million dollars weeks after the appointment. I waited for two weeks to write the review so that I could see if the cut still worked after a few washings and if the color looked the same. It's wonderful! Walking in, my last style was very disconnected and my hair was just generally out of sorts. She fixed me right up with wonderful color and cut that I absolutely love! In addition, she did not try to sell me any products that I didn't need! She did suggest some items and a different shampoo but at the salon....they sell trial sizes of the shampoo and conditioner so that you can test the product out to see if you like it! Why. Why did I do this to myself. I showed the stylist 3 different comparison pictures of how my stylist back in VA cut my hair/bangs. Maybe he heard me say "You see this picture where my hair looks great? Yeah, do the opposite of that." This was the first time ever (been getting it cut professionally for 14 years) that someone cut my hair after drying it and I didn't like it. He used a flat iron on a small section then cut. He also used some thick product in my hair that makes it feel greasy and really heavy, ick. $45 for wash, cut and blow dry. Despite the fact that it's super cheap I can't be even slightly happy with my hair. I told the stylist it looked good then left; if you can't style my bangs right on the first try you're done. Oh on the plus side they have free parking in the back. The staff was all friendly and nice. read more

My review is not for salon services, but for a bridal package. I booked my wedding hair stylist (Houston) with Salon O2 and they partnered with the makeup artist I hired. It was so easy to communicate and plan with both because I was given a point of contact at the salon. She managed my trial appointments with both ladies, as well as my payments and any questions I had. Houston was amazing! She actually met with me first just to chat. I feel my hair is difficult to style and she was willing to hear my concerns and provide feedback before I booked my trial or signed a contract. My hair trial went well. Houston listed to everything I was asking, and used the photos I had brought in to guide her. My hair was absolutely gorgeous! Since I had my bridal shower the same day Houston took my hair down and made sure it looked nice for my event - yay! The day of my wedding I decided to have hair and makeup done at my mother's house so we had more space. Houston arrived exactly when she said she would. We had 5 bridesmaids, my mother and myself to be styled. She finished with enough time to wait around for a final spritz of hairspray for all the ladies. I even changed up what I wanted done a tad, and she was completely flexible. I felt at ease with Houston because she kept showing me her thoughts as she was working to make sure I was pleased! They have done everything in their power to make it a safe and friendly experience for their customers and it shows. Worst manicure I have ever gotten. I paid $45 for her to essentially change the color of my gel polish. Every other manicure I have ever gotten has included a hand massage and a bowl to soak your nails in. None of that happened. My appointment was at 3 and they had me out the door by 3:17. I don't know if they were prejudice because I was a college student or what, but after a miserable week this was a reward for myself and I feel like I wasted both fifteen minutes of my life and $45. The people who work there are very friendly, and the view out the windows is really great, and the sunlight makes the venue very cheery and uplifting.
