Well after a 2 night stay we realized we had mold in our tub and hair. The hotel was overall ok until we wanted to extend our check out time to 5pm. Well the manager yoldus ythey were all booked up and that everyone had to checkout on time and that they weren't honoring late check outs today even though other guests had paid for for it. Anyway the manager was very nasty about the extended checkout and proceeded to tell ne well your room was ready when you checked in so yhe other guests want theirs to be as well. But I had a question for her how can you offer me another night if your all booked up, that means someone is not going to have a room when they come to check in. So at that point she began to say yep your right with everything. Elizabeth the manager was very rude, and I don't understand how you can be so rude when th place cost so much!! Wow. I haven't been to a hotel in a long time that lacked professionalism as much as this Hyatt did. Some things are so frustrating I can't spend the energy to write about. Let's start with the first night and the mess room service was. Got in from my flight late, all I wanted was a side of bok choy and glass of wine. Ordered it and 20 minutes later they call back and tell me they're out of bok choy. Ok, how about the beet caprese? Nope, that's not on the menu, you must have an old menu. Ok, how do I get a new menu? Call the front desk. Ok, by the time I call the front desk, get an updated menu, order, and have it delivered it'll be at least an hour and I'll be asleep by then. To make up for this, you would think they would offer to send the glass of wine on the house. They didn't so I asked. Hold on, Sarah gets on the phone, I guess she's the room service manager, she declines my suggestion for the glass of wine. So I call the front desk and explain what happened and they agree on the glass of wine to please their customer and make up for their screw up. Sarah comes up with the glass, dressed like a teen in middle school, and starts to give me an explanation on why they had the old menus in the room...don't want to hear it. Just apologize. Night two. Even worse. I get back to my room after a long day of training since I was there for business. Start packing and a man knocks on my door with a toothbrush. You order a toothbrush? Nope. Figure ok dude had the wrong room...simple mistake. 11:30pm rolls around while I'm sleeping and I hear a bang on the door. Not a knock, a bang. I'm thinking this must be an intoxicated someone with the wrong room. I reeeally don't want to get up from bed so I lay there thinking he'll figure out it's the wrong room. BANG BANG BANG 5 more times for 5 minutes. Fly out of bed, open the door and it's someone from the hotel with a stack of towels. You order towels? NO! .....Call the front desk, ask them how they're getting the room wrong, and how they keep track of who orders these things and confirm it's the right guest. Well, a man walked by the front desk and asked for towels for room # ___. Ok, that's obviously not me so please make sure you don't send anyone else up to my room, I'm not ordering these things. "What would you like me to do for you ma'am, you're already getting breakfast for free? " says Ryan, the manager on duty. He really didn't have to say that like he thought I was a spoiled brat and the company I'm with treating us to breakfast has nothing to do with the current situation. 5 minutes later a third man knocks. You order a power strip? Holy cow, I lost it. This hotel seriously needs to get organized. I call down again and Xavier is the manager on duty now. Maybe Ryan didn't want to deal with anything since it was the end of his shift. Xavier promised to figure something out to make up for their many mistakes and I never heard from him. George, the shuttle driver, is the only good thing about this place, he was a delight to ride with. Thanks for nothing Hyatt. read more

Oh my where do I begin. My daughter had a pageant here which was the reason for our stay at this particular hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful to look at. The employees are super friendly. The front desk clerks are very confused about the policies I think. I was given this long explanation about how since I wasn't using a "real" credit card at check in (since I guess my visa debit/credit card isn't a real credit card), I would experience a very expensive hold on my card until my 7 business day wait was up. I questioned what my total actually was for two nights, and was given a completely different total than I should have been given as I later found out at checkout. The room I was given when placing my reservation 3 weeks prior was actually not what I received when I checked in, so they moved me to a different floor. Fine whatever. When I got to the room, it wasn't anything spectacular. There's no amenities at all with this hotel or any of the regular rooms. No microwaves in the actual rooms. No vending machines. Hard beds. The pillows sucked. I didn't even realize that was possible for a Hyatt to have pillows that sucked. No free parking ($24). You have to pay a toll to even get off the exit and then back on to the beltway so be prepared to bring extra money with you just for tolls and parking. There are several restaurants in the hotel leading out to the Town Center. However, they're all kind of expensive so we spent a lot of money on food during the two days we were there. There's no toothpaste amenities like their website says. Not that I would really use them, but to advertise that and not have it, is just wrong. The Wifi they give you is limited. You only get 20 hours of free wifi. Anything over that you will be charged for (or so it says when you log on to their "free" wifi). So if you're staying there for more than 20 hrs, make sure you keep tabs on your usage. Because yeah that's something everyone wants to worry about when they're traveling. When checking out, I explained that they had already deducted two room charges from my "not real" credit card and wanted to see if that was a portion of the hold they were telling me about when I checked in, or if I should expect more deductions. The supervisor took over since the clerk didn't understand what I was saying. She printed a receipt out and said that was my room charge for my 2 days and anything extra charged is part of the "hold" and would be reimbursed in 7 business days. Major inconvenience and irritation. Being a photographer, I've purchased several hotel rooms for sessions and have paid less money for better hotels than this one. There's a Hyatt that is about an hour from me that is SO MUCH MORE than this was. You definitely get what you pay for there. But it's like this one has a lower standard than the rest. Like its "just another hotel". Then why pick it? Why pay more to stay at this Hyatt and get less? What's the perk of staying there over any other hotel within driving/walking distance of the Town Center? In my opinion, absolutely nothing. Zero. Never again. The only reason I gave them two stars is because the employees who were running around taking people's bags up or running room service up to guests were super friendly. A few suggestions...put some vending machines in that are less money than the expensive items in your gift shop. People don't want to spend $3 on a drink when they're already spending lots of money to stay there. Put a microwave in every room. No one wants to purchase a frozen meal from your gift shop for twice as much as a grocery store, travel to the 3rd floor to heat it up, and then wait for the elevator to go back up to the 9th floor, only to have it be cold when you go to eat this very expensive dinner. Have some type of continental breakfast service. Bagels (which I'm sure in bulk aren't that expensive), fruit, coffee. Something small is better than nothing at all. Offer free parking. You're already $50 more per night than the competition in the area who I found out DOES offer free parking. Give people something to think about when booking. What makes you different than everyone around you? Right now nothing. read more

OK room, good location but no reliable TV? What gives when it rains and the TV doesn't work?

I am a frequent traveler and love this location! The hotel is very nice and always exceeds my expectation. The best part is the fact the hotel is in the Reston Town Center. You can walk to several great restaraunts and shopping. The hotel staff is always friendly and caters to my needs.The Regency Club staff is excellent! They go out of there way to make sure that you feel wlecome and enjoy your stay. I always stay here when in Reston and wouldn't stay anywhere else. read more

Stayed for the night as a getaway we've stayed before. All was good until at 8am a rock band started to play outside our room. Why hotel management would allow this is beyond me. We did not want to wake up at 8am as this is why we drive 4 miles down the road to stay at a $200 night hotel. Our kids wake us up at 8am so WTF!!!! read more

Love this hotel! Great staff! They bent over backwards to accomodate me and my team. We rented the ballroom for our conference in Feb. They were better than expected. The rooms are clean and so comfy! The staff left us wine and chocolates in our room. Modern but classic decor, great for "Elites" like us! So convenient to all of RTC. I would live there if I could. Rates were average for that level of hotel at $179 a night. Free parking lot and shuttle to Dulles. read more

We live in a less interesting area of the country (central PA) and are always looking for weekend get aways. The Reston Hyatt almost always has good weekend rates ($110 with free parking) and frequently has package deals which bring the price down even more. The rooms are very tasteful and there are lots of decent places to eat and shop within walking distance. Georgetown and other DC venues are reasonably close. read more

Nice room and super convenient as the hotel backs into the Reston town center with lots of great restaurants. I was in the area for business too and perfect for meet and greet too. I subtracted 2 stars because of check in, on the night of May 13th, the younger fellow that checked me in went thru 90% of the process and as he was about to hand me the keys, he goes "Oh your reservation is for June 2nd." After a full day of traveling from the west coast, that was not a welcoming comment. Luckily I printed a copy of the reservation and he blamed it on the system. I have a theory that he was trying to start a good conversation about my day, my reason for in town...I just didn't really feel like talking. I stress that I was polite. He was just mad at this British dude and tried to get even with me. When I checked out 3 days later, I asked another front desk (he wasn't friendly at all) if there was ever a reservation for June 2nd...he said no. read more

I stayed here in late November and was horrified to find that the room I was in was infested with bed bugs! I woke up and was covered with them! After complaining I was given the room for free and asked to keep quiet about the incident. After I returned home a few days later I realized the bed bugs had infested my home after they escaped my luggage!!!! Oh and also after eating at their bar restaurant I spent the evening with stomach cramps and worse. Stay or eat here at your peril. read more

This hotel is only for those who want to party. I drove across the country, couldn't cancel my reservation, because they said they need 72 hours cancellation. So I forced to stay there all week. On my last day, Friday, I go to the ground floor to get a Trolley to check. No, you can't do that, the bell hop told me. So I went back up stairs, finished packing, called the front desk told them I needed the bell hop and trolley. Fifteen minutes go by and I am late for work. I call back down there, the women at the front desk had no idea what a bell hop or a trolley was. Hate this hotel, will never stay here again read more

Great location and really nice rooms with comfy beds!. The staff was friendly and attentive, only a 30 minute drive to the middle of DC.

This review is solely based on the food at the hotel (I've never spent a night in a room here). I have worked several conferences at the Reston Hyatt and the food made by the hotel staff has been, by far, the worst of any hotel I've ever been to. I can say for sure that I've had my lifetime fill of cold, chewy french fries, hot sandwiches that arrive luke warm and flavorless, and salad greens that aren't fit for a disposal. It has been so bad that many of us skip the meals paid for by our employers to eat somewhere else. Fortunately, the hotel is located near a bunch of other food options. read more

In winter the whole lobby area, is freezing, otherwise the rooms etc are all normal Hyatt fare. The restaurant seems a lot better recently - the seafood pasta dish was truly exceptional, and the 2nd time I had it 2 weeks later it was almost as good. Not sure about other dishes though. read more

This hotel is close to a ton of restaurants and shopping easily within walking distance. This is why I rated it 4 stars. It has a nice atmosphere and the rooms are comfortable and modern (wish they had mini-fridges, though; extended stays here without the ability to buy perishable food or store restaurant leftovers is a bit annoying). I have been repeatedly disappointed in room service. The selection is very limited (especially if you are a vegetarian). I was here for a couple weeks so due to work schedule constraints, I had to order the only vegetarian entree three times and each time it was prepared differently. One time, it even arrived with different ingredients. The room service staff is very friendly. They tend to not answer their phone (I've had to call the front desk to get in touch with them a couple times). They also tend to forget some of your order when they bring it to you sometimes. My wife and I celebrate our anniversary over the Christmas holiday, and I could not have picked a better place to stay. The rooms are clean and spacious, plus the service can not be beat. Upon arrival the lady behind the desk was very friendly and immediately wished us a very Happy Anniversary. Little did we know that she would also arrange for special condiments during our stay. The best was at brunch on Christmas day when the waitress arrived with a cake and the words "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate on the plate. Needless to say our stay was very memorable. Pool and exercise area was another plus. There was a lifeguard on duty the entire time to attend to our needs such as turning on the jets for the hot tub, which was excellent and CLEAN! Or providing us with extra towels for our swim in a very CLEAN pool. We have been to many hotel pools in the past that looked every bit like water drained from the local river. The exercise area also is to be commended, as it rivals and is a bit better then most hotel exercise facilities. The location for our part was perfect, we were able to stroll Reston Center, eat at some very good restaurants, and totally enjoy our stay and the Christmas atmosphere of the area. One last "kudo" to the service staff for the entire hotel, from the front desk to engineering department, which fixed a small problem for us within the hour, to the wait staff at their restaurant which also serves a great meal. This hotel bills itself as a 4 diamond hotel. It is anything but. The rooms are tiny and dingy looking. The TV stations are analog, not HD, so most channels come in blurry...inexcusable in 2013. The shower doesn't stay warm and the shower head is crusty. The beds are hard, no pillow top. And the food at the restaurant is abysmal. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and the tortilla was so hard it was tough to chew, and the cheese was cold and hardened by the time it made it to me. Overall, I can't recommend this place, especially for the price. It's like an overpriced Motel 6. Only redeeming quality I can find is that the people here are very, very nice and eager to help with anything. It's too bad the hotel isn't as great as the people working there. The hotel itself is great. Nice comfortable rooms. However your staff (housekeeping) especially need to learn to speak english. House keeping came while I was in the room and They told me "No speak english" they said that in english, I told them I don't speak spanish which they seemed to understand but continued to talk to me in spanish. I told them I needed towels but not sure if I got any or what. If you are going to hire people here in America they need to speak english. If i went to their homeland I would learn spanish but I shouldn't have to learn a foreign language in a country where English is already the home language. Please hire more staff that speak english or hold a class before they start the job. Staff not speaking the same language makes for a uncomfortable stay and doesn't look good on the hotel. read more

Unbelievable ..... My company made a booking for me for 10 to 15 days, Regency floor, king size bed .... arrived at 2:00 pm. Room not ready. Offered a king bed on 5th floor, or wait for booked room (king on Regency floor). I told them I would wait. They said they would call when ready ..... I gave them my number. 4 hours later, nothing...... I call them. Lots of apologies .... your room is ready. When I get there, no king bed. I told them I was emphatic about waiting for king on regency floor .... Response: "Too bad. We have nothing today, tomorrow or for sometime in the future ....." Definitely one of the nicer properties in the Hyatt portfolio, and one of the more full service locations in the Dulles Corridor. Located in the Reston Town Center, there are plenty of places to eat and shop within walking distance, as are many of the corporate offices scattered around the hotel. The layout and design is fresh and modern and the host for the club lounge is one of the friendliest I have ever met. She is very proud of the quirks of the coffee machine and remembers everyone who comes in. She is definitely an asset to their operation. Price is consistently in the mid to high $200s which is reasonable for the area and they offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from IAD. read more

Stayed in this location for a week due to training across the street. The hotel itself is nice however the price for Internet is kind of retarded. Should be included with 240$ a night room prices. Also while staying here I'm pretty sure cleaning staff took medication from my hotel room. Adderalll tablets that I have a prescription for. Great location in the heart of Reston. Can be pricey but I got a great rate. Very clean and polite staff and most importantly the health club kicks butt. This is my go to location now when I visit Reston because they do not skimp on fitness offerings. The restaurants are great as well read more

I went here for a business meeting but I didn't stay the night. The meeting room we were at had lights blinking towards the end of the day, which got annoying and it distracted lots of attendees. The projectors were off in color as well we were missing some parts of the presentation. I did however like the food. I was very impressed with the food selection for breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack. My favorite was being able to create my own trail mix...and I did like the free parking. read more

Hotel was nice and clean. Very impressed with spacious suite room, except that nice kitchen area had NO microwave?! That was surprising - don't think of that as a luxury but as a standard necessity, and every hotel I've stayed in last decade has them standard in rooms, so what's the deal?! Good thing Panera was downstairs. . . Maybe that's the plan no microwave = more money spent. $16 a day to park car, seems to me that should be included in stay. Pool was nice, hot tub not hot enough. The hallways are packed with people selling things, it's super loud because if it. We usually stay here at 2-3 days a month, with the service at front desk, so rude, we won't be back. I've just recently had the displeasure of staying at the Hyatt hotel. Beds are comfortable and the hotel is beautiful. However, the customer service is the absolute worst I have ever experienced in my history of staying at hotels. The Hyatt should be a little more selective of who hire to work at the front desk.. We came with a large group for work. We were all told different things and prices as far as parking and incidental charges. The front desk was so rude and annoyed by our presence. The parking attendant rolled his eyes at us while saying "what in the world" when we were confused as how to leave the garage.. Staying in Reston Town Center is one of our favorite weekend getaways! We live not to far away, and when we get the opportunity this serves the purpose. We always stay at the Hyatt, and enjoy every time. Reston provides a get away where you can park your car for the weekend and never need to go back to it. Everything from, restaurants, shops, coffee, movies, ice-cream, bars, music, fitness, ice-skating & more are all within walking distance. So many good restaurants to mention. At the Hotel, the rooms are nice, and clean. The staff are always superb! read more
