We decided to return to this location for Chinese food. ( May 2nd 5:30 pm ) I was very impressed with the orange chicken!! More flavor than ever. The orange sauce was perfect. Even the crab Rangoons were good. Not hard as before. I really hope that they will stay consistent with all their food choices. Whoever was cooking last night did pay attention to quality. Absolute worst HyVee in the state. The sacker was very sarcastic and made several comments when I asked that chips not be put in at bottom. Sure enough, while loading car the sack with bread was on bottom of sacks and items from bakery were on their side. Happens all the time. They never care like they advertise. He also put things on lower bottom and I said I hooe they dont fall out like they usually do once you go out entrance. Sure enough, bottle pop fell out, broke open costing me $ and had no time to go back in and get a new one. I try to avoid coming here which is sad when we need more places on the north side. Went to this store again 5-30-2025 1100 hours. As usual produce was second rate and as if the produce is being left sitting on a truck for a week before its put on the shelf. Doesnt matter what item you pick up, it will either be bruised, rotten, or minutes away from rotting. That however is now the expected norm for this store on 27th street in Lincoln, Nebraska. Today i went for items other than produce. I rounde dup everything i needed and headed to the checkout. As one kid is ringing up my groceries i notice the kid bagging them at the end of the counter is standing there with a snot rag poked up nostril and dangling down on his chin. When i enquired to the cashier as why an employee is handling my groceries with a snot rag dangling out of nose i was told that he had a bloody nose earlier. After i paid i rolled my cart over to the service counter, waited my turn to speak to the manager at which point all i said as i pointed to the kid bagging groceries with the snot rag still hanging out of his nose is.... "Do you find it the least bit disturbing that your employee is handling peoples food items with a snot rag hanging out his nose in clear view of everyone in this building?" She immediately said yes and bolted out from behind the counter but didnt head towards the kid and i have no idea where she was going. Possibly to get an actual manager? Every single time I get a prescription filled here it's wrong. They tried to blame the doctors office, when the drs office sent the prescription multiple times. It's one thing to screw up my groceries....but prescriptions? On multiple occasions? Open up the package and check that it is the correct medication before you leave! It's really not worth risking your life because these people are incompetent. read more

Major sized supermarket. I'd love to see this sort of format back where I live because this was pretty slick. Large produce section, great butchery and huge frozen but what really impressed me was the large bulk items area (candies, nuts, grains), the cheese bunker, the deli counter with the pre-shaved meats and pre-sliced cheeses and the various "ethnic" foods along the outside wall. So many options! Prices were decent. Not great but good. Service was excellent, the store was super clean and my shopping cart was a four-wheeled winner. Even checkout was a pleasant experience. I dig shopping at Hy-Vee on Stacey Lane, Lincoln, NE. When you walk in the door, they have the kindest greeters with great big smiles. The employees consistently greet you while you are going down the aisles. They are quick to show you where something is located. They always make me feel cared for and are quick to meet my needs. I favor Hy-vee because they have so much to offer. They have grocery items from food to animal toys. Hy-Vee offers a food court including a buffet style with an array of salads, potato salad, and sweet desserts. Delish! A few of my favs are their Chinese dishes, deep-fat fried french fries, and tasty fish that doesn't taste too fishy. Their deli has an array of sliced turkey, ham, fish, and specialty cheeses. They are speedy to fill your order. They have a healthy food section for those that are healthy nuts and for those conscious of eating fresh foods and low-fat chips and other goodies that are geared towards fat-free, carb-free, and gluten-free foods. Another benefit of the store is its own pharmacy. The pharmacists and assistants compliment the store employees with award-winning positive attitudes. They have an open area to the right of the store where they have a Wine & Spirits Department. Wine to dine and beer to cheer! Last, of all, the appearance of the store is tidy whitey. I could eat off those shiny white floors. I will pass on that! Their prices overall are steeper than other grocery stores. It is worth the cost because they sell fresh fruits and vegetables and have a decent meat/fish department. They have a Hy-Vee Perks card you can use when buying a bunch of groceries and it drives the cost of gas per gallon down from anywhere between 25 to 75 cents a gallon. Hy-Vee is a group of people invested in their customers. They take pride in their work and it shows in the way they treat me every time I drop by to pick something up. I love the vibe of the store, its layout, and the people that have molded a culture that is client focused. I can never go wrong when I visit their store frequently! read more

Usually a good experience BUT high prices and the produce is horrible. We've had to trash blackberries for mold and carrots as well...bought to be eaten the same day and they were moldy. So strike one. Strike two...Today, September 9, 2023 went to get a birthday cake for my nephew at 3:15 pm. The older woman at the bakery practically yelled at me when I asked if they could write Happy Birthday that all the cake decorators were gone for the day. Like I was supposed to know that. Then she asked one of the kids, and I do mean kids, to write in the cake for me. What they produced was laughable! Looked like a first grader wrote it but at least he tried. In my opinion, she needn't have been so nasty and the poor kid should have had basic cake writing instruction. Plus the cake cost $29.99 which is outrageous to begin with! Strike three..fresh chicken in the butcher case was dried out and looked like it had been scorched in the tanning booth for two or three days. Didn't buy it because it was so gross. I have to say, I absolutely HATE the checkers and baggers at this Hy Vee. They destroy our produce, chips, and our bread nearly every time. I wrote Hy Vee Corporate a handful of times about getting better training there for their employees checking out. It should be simple to do, don't crush the customer's products, but they never seem to get it. It's an easy concept. Today Ethan put our gallon milk on top of our bread in our cart. And then when I grabbed the milk from his hand as he was smashing it, I picked the bread up from underneath it, and swapped the two of them. Then he looked at me like I was the asshole. Thanks to HyVee's bang up duo of Ethan and Nathan, our apples are bruised, our bread is flatter, and my patience with this store's lack of front-end management and training is wearing very thin. You know there's a Walmart, Super Saver, and many other choices to shop for groceries in Lincoln, right Hy Vee? Fresh Thyme alone beats your prices on produce and blows you out of the water in quality of product. Maybe the teenagers that don't care should be lifting heavy boxes in the back or doing some stocking instead of being the face of your store. Or, don't hire the ones that are so apathetic, they'll just go to the McDonald's across the street, where they REALLY don't care about the customer experience or product. read more

The store on North 27th street in Lincoln has recently rearranged their shelving. They elminatde the entire center aisle so that now customers must walk from one end of the store to the other just to change aisles. No regard for customers time or the disabled customers. Beautiful renovation to this location. Love the modernization of the store layout and the added liquor section. I have been going to this location for years and it needed this update badly and this is great for the area. Pharmacy is super convenient, however their drive thru was out of order so we had to go inside. Which was not s problem because I got to check out the new updates. This Hyvee offers customer service 24-7. I am usually a late night shopper and there is no lack of service at that time. The meat service depart is excellent. I enjoy their hot wing burgers, but they no longer make them. However one of their meat service guys special made them for me, and made them bigger than standard (6 oz.). Just one example of how great their services are. The cashiers are always friendly and willing to help. Great shopping environment. read more

It already was a nice store, but when the remodel is completed, it will be gorgeous! The newly remodeled pharmacy is already open. Also, the newly remodeled and expanded liquor section is open. I've been to most of the Hy-Vee's in lincoln and I've been able to use wic on the self checkout and this one was not working when I tried to checkout had to go over to customer service and redo my whole order was very upsetting. Only had two people working that actually check customers out need more people working and for this Hy-Vee not to have the same settings as the other ones in lincoln is crap. Will not be coming back to this hy-vee. Also I've noticed there prices at this location are a bit more higher then say one across town. read more

This HyVee's Asian Express really shines here, it probably has the best Chinese food in town! The main cook has been cooking here for almost 20 years. It's always fresh, well made, smells awesome, and is really affordable. $7 for a lunch combo. The Mongolian Beef and Sesame Beef are the bomb. You can sub rice for lo mein too. There's also a buffet. I used to go here a lot since I went to North Star nearby. Staff is really kind and friendly too. This HyVee has finished remodeling, and now it looks like a fancy gourmet grocery store, but still wholly affordable. HyVee really stands out against other local grocery chains like Super Saver as a highly customer oriented local business that cares about your experience in the store: the standing tables and chairs, inside restaurants, free WiFi, bussers, and even the labeling is made to be very pleasant to be in. Kind of reminds me of a Trader Joe's you might find in larger cities, with more of a leisurely feel. read more

I came in this morning to grab breakfast. I got two things and went to the customer service desk for assistance being that I had questions about a buy2-get1 deal. I simply said good morning and waited for assistance. The manager by the name of Cody was at the desk and did not acknowldege me until after I said hello although he made eye contact with me walking up. Then told me he could not help me and someone else would have to, unecessarily rude. I asked him if he was having an alright morning as he rolled his eyes and spoke to me as if I was disturbing him. Clean Store, Friendly Service...fresh meats and produce. This is one of the finer locations in Lincoln and the one I go to the most because I have always been satisfied. I just wish they had their setup for green leaf lettuce a little better. They way it's got plastic around it and then put up on shelves keeps it from getting water from the sprayer so you almost always find it limp and lifeless. read more

Hy-Vee always is a bit pricey but gets good sales here and there. The store has a great selection of items and I've never had an issue of an item being out of stock! They always seem to be understaffed when it comes to the cashiers, now some stores have self checkout lanes which helps immensely with the lack of said cashiers. read more

I'm so glad there is a grocery store in Lincoln that I can't get some of the more luxurious items that I can't find anywhere else around here. I go for three reasons to Hy-Vee: 1) excellent variety and quality of produce. 2) The Health food section of the store. 3) The salad bar. The seafood stench at the back of the store in much less noticeable since the store's remodeling. I only shop at Hy-Vee occasionally because they're expensive, plus, they don't have the same kind of variety as other supermarkets in the area. I've always enjoyed this store, not because they have good food and good prices. Its because they have a fine, quality food eatery place. You can go in a get a good breakfast for a good price. You can come back later at lunch and browse thru the food buffet. In the mood for a Chinese meal? You got it! Feeling all pasta? You can get that too! Feel like chicken tonight? You can get clucky tonight! Oh you can get pizza too! And you can get it by the slice, hot and ready to eat! Want takeout? You can pickup a pizza with your favorite toppings and cook it at home. DO NOT give this store your business. Racist management who blatantly made prejudicial remarks toward my black colleague when I--a ww--have had zero problems interacting with their staff for weeks. As a canvasser, I've been stationed outside of this store several times and have never had any issues. My colleague heard one manager tell another that, "There is a black lady outside trying to get people's addresses." They then told her she could not use their bathroom and that it was only for customers, despite her having two items that she purchased in her hands at the time. Then she was told to leave the property. When I asked them why I'd never had this problem before, they claimed they'd never seen me. Not only have I interacted with cart attendants and been seen by supervisors, I have walked in and out of the store with my clipboard on my breaks. My fiancé and I had the worst experience here. As we came in for our wedding consultation and had the rudest experience I think I've ever experienced in this store. I had called a week before hand asking about cake prices for we are on a budget for our wedding but bc I love Hy-Vee cakes I still wanted to see if I would still be able to get our cake from here. So I called ahead of time asking for prices and what it all intails. I was told I could get the smallest 3 tiered cake they can provide for $125.00. When we showed up the gal we spoke to looked disinterested in giving us the time of day just cause I simply told her I was quoted a lower price that she said doesn't exist. So of course I had asked to see if the original gal I spoke to over the phone was there or not and she simple just dismissed us. We felt treated very badly just because we can't afford to get an extravagant cake at a higher price point. So this makes me question if I'll ever get cake here again. We decided to get our cake at Sam's club where the customer service was much better and we felt like we mattered! read more

They (Hy-Vee) know how to treat customers. I have always enjoyed shopping at my local store (27th & Superior) but I also shop the 84th & Holdrege location. The employees with walk you to the location of the product and if they don't know they will get someone who does. If they don't carry the product they will try to get it in. Both locations are very clean and well lit. Some think that Hy-Vee prices are too high but with the selection service and efficiency, how can you go wrong. If they make an error they will make it right every time. With other grocery stores who can't even locate the employee (manager) because they work from 7-3 so they will leave them a note. I would give it one star due to the outrageous customer service I've had today. Jason, manager or over the meat department does not belong in the role of customer service for he doesn't know that means to execute great customer satisfaction. He continued to ask me why I wanted to return the item and threw back in my face my reason. I told him because I did research after the fact of buying it and he had to talk down on me with, " well ....if you had done your research before you bought the product than you wouldn't have...." I had to talk over him at this point. It was purchased yesterday, not opened, have recpiet and it's not near expiration date. He was a complete jerk on his part , every opportunity I gave him to make it right he refused. My husband had tried to return it in the store first and Jason along with the other employees gave him major attitude. They kept asking why and told him that he shouldn't have purchased the meat. Jason even told me the store has to eat the lousy $23 dollars if they take it back because since it left the store it must be thrown away. To add to all the drama , I had gone through ten people with a wait time of 23 mins and 34 seconds on the phone all together just to get Jason's nasty attitude. This whole ordeal took up nearly three hours of our morning with nothing but great amount of stress due to the poor attitude and lack of professionalism at this location. We had to drive over 20 mins to another location just to get the best customer service we've ever gotten from another Hyvee. I do not appreciate nor will I tolerate the disrespect my husband and I received today. Get it together!! read more
