I've done crossfit in the past and messed up my knees pretty bad but i thought maybe if i am more conscious about that going in i'll be fine this time. Well 3 weeks in i can already feel discomfort in my knees so i let them know that this is not a good long term option for me and would not be continuing my membership past the first month. I was suppose to have until april 5th to work out but my class reservation accounts were all blocked out because my membership was canceled even though i am paid through april 5th. They also gave me free week passes and i gave them a name and they have harrassing that person non-stop every day. Totally regret giving them anyones info. The only reason it even gets 2 stars is because the coaches have been great.

I'm hooked on Fire & Ice at Mekanix Calisthenics Gym in Montrose. My recovery has never been this…read morerejuvenating and my workout stats just keep improving since I started incorporating this into my routine. I've been going hard in training to pass the Air Force ASOS / TACP physical requirements and this recovery method has made a huge difference for me. I'm PR'ing everything at the gym. I also track my light and deep sleep, and the stats from my deep sleep went from about 2.5 hours per night to about 6.5 after partaking in Fire & Ice. How does it work? You spend 3 min in the ice bath followed by approximately 15 min in the sauna. Repeat 3x and do one final ice bath dunk at the end. If you're killing it and feeling run down, check them out and ask for Justin. He'll take great care of you. It's made a HUGE difference for me!

I had to go through a zoom call to find this information, and was pretty turned off by how pushy and dismissive the person I was speaking to became when I told him I wasn't going to sign up on the spot and needed time to think it over. The call turned from friendly to awkward/ uncomfortable in my perspective from there.

The environment is high energy, super friendly and supportive. From the moment I joined, JJ took care of me and helped guide me to the package/membership that best matched my fitness needs. The boxing classes are challenging and engaging. Even though it's a group class, Pablo pays special attention to each and every person, working with them one on one, guiding them on how to improve their technique. And don't worry, you'll get your butt kicked and handed to you with each and every class but you'll enjoy every minute of it. I have been working out here for three months now and now I am doing personal training with Jose who is just phenomenal. Jose follows a structured no BS approach which I love. I told him my goals and he takes them as seriously, if not more seriously than me. He's gone above and beyond to work with my schedule, structure brutal workouts that will help me reach my goal as fast as possible and even check on my progress regularly to assess my progression rate. I've had my fair share of disappointment with personal training, and Jose has turned that around completely. From the beginning he's been truly invested in my progress and I am truly grateful to be training with him.

They do not cut corners in making sure you are safe, in making sure you quickly become a community member, and that you have workouts that fit your goals. Especially because I have a bad back, and was just looking for a reverse hyper machine when I found this gym. From young professionals to the senior "legends" classes they offer, there's a community here for everyone. The owner Josh is an Aggie AND a Marine. He took his time to teach me proper form and technique when I just happened to wander in one day. Not knowing anything about me, he treated me with respect and as family from day one. I think one of the things I didn't realize about crossfit is the community aspect of it. In theory it makes sense but you never really understand it until you do it. There's a bit of magic that occurs when you have team mates working towards a common goal, led by a professionals who have our best interests at heart. Some of the workouts done here will be core memories of mine in my fitness journey and in life in general. It was a great experience and I'm glad I gave it a try when Josh offered it. Thanks Crossfit Be Someone, the teammates, and all the coaches there.
