The new owner, new attitude has made this a fantastic spot now. The burgers are hot and juicy, fries are hot and perfect and the cheese steak, amazing. The other big improvement is the service. We have had 7 different servers stop at our table to see if we needed anything. The servers clearly operate as a team approach, not individual. We talked to the manager and she explained her training process and it's all about service! The burgers are now hand formed and cooked an a flat top, not in the press. I'd not be surprised if a good number of people reading this were unaware that there is a Stockyard in business just west of downtown Crossville. After trying for at least a year to get out on a Saturday morning to visit the Stockyard Cafe, finally the stars and the planets aligned so that we could try their home-style breakfasts. Home style being the keyword here- the meals here are very much like you would expect as a child if you were visiting your Grandmother. Hearty portions are the rule, and the coffee is some of the best I have had at an area diner. What little decoration is inside the Cafe is stark, and in some ways the style of the furnishings, etc. reminded me of what was common for diners in the 1950's and 1960's. As mentioned before, the portions were generous and served piping hot. Service was top-notch and friendly too. There is plenty of space for groups, and I am told that well-behaved children are welcome.
