As someone who moved here from the Bay Area and is still finding my favorite outdoor spaces in…read moreCharlotte, I'm always on the lookout for places that offer a little peace and beauty in the middle of a busy day. The McGill Rose Garden absolutely delivered on that. This is truly a beautiful venue--lush flowers everywhere, winding walk paths, and plenty of places to sit quietly and just take it all in. It's the kind of space where you can slow down, clear your head, and quite literally stop and smell the roses. I found it to be a wonderful spot for reflection, a casual stroll, or simply enjoying nature without needing to leave the city. One of the things I especially appreciated is that you can enhance the experience with a visit to the wine bar onsite, Rosie's Wine Garden, where you can grab a coffee, cocktail, or glass of wine and then wander the grounds at your own pace. It adds a relaxed, almost European feel to the whole experience. A quick heads-up: parking can be a bit tricky, as the entrance is off a busy street, so just take your time and be patient when pulling in. Once you're there, though, it's well worth the effort. Bottom line: If you're looking for a small but charming botanical-style garden in Charlotte--a quiet place to reset, reflect, and enjoy the outdoors--this is a lovely little gem. For me, it checked all the boxes and has become a welcome respite in the middle of a busy day.

Rosie's Coffee and Wine is adjacent and service there was super friendly and fast. There is indoor seating there, but the gardens have little twists and turns and different areas to sit, too. When we visited it wasn't too busy, so we had our choice of tables. There was a birthday or bachelorette type of party in another part of the garden.

They also do growler fills There is a decent selection considering how small the place is. The beer seemed to be served in the appropriate glassware, and they had a wide variety of styles represented. Too often small places like this, with less than 15-20 taps, will have nothing but IPA's and AAL's on tap. The service was good, the staff was friendly and attentive despite the place being very busy. the Bartender seemed to really know his stuff about the beer. Overall, this is a nice little place to stop in if you are in the area, particularly on Tuesdays when they have $4 pints.

Looking for that exclusive brew, definitely try here as they have tons of selections. Reasonable prices for both beer and wine selections. They often have live music as well. Not to mention, alcoholic ice cream (great combo) and kegs to go! Shared parking with other businesses. Have a couple of pints of craft beer and get Indian, Mexican or a pizza for dinner. All in all, a great location with great beer, good people, and food.

It looked cozy and inviting and we were fancying a night cap, so in we went. As their name implies they are located by the train tracks and specialize in craft beer as both a bottle shop and a tap room. They have a large number of rotating taps with a variety of different beers. Inside they have a number of games along with couches and a variety of comfy seating. We pulled up a stool at the bar which was also pretty full. It definitely feels like a regular neighborhood hangout. The servers had a lot of great recommendations from their tap list and clearly enjoy what they do. It is definitely first and foremost dedicated to craft beer so if it isn't your thing it may not be your favorite place. Me myself I enjoyed my time and if I lived in the area I would likely stop in regularly. If you find yourself in the area I recommend stopping in to check out their draft list. Even if you don't find your favorite beer you'll have friendly service and some nice people watching.
