I sent photos of my issues to Rick the manager. (My house is old from the 1930s and very tricky). Rick sent Daniel, a highly experienced pro plumber. I showed Daniel what needed to be done. New faucet for the kitchen and I also needed a new master valve for the water coming in to the house along with replacing some additional old valves in the basement. Daniel did an amazing job and even corrected the grounding for the wiring around the pipes. Once everything was done, he made sure there were NO leaks and that all components were working properly. I used B&R previously, but a recent service call proved this company values technician ego over…read morebasic competence, diagnostic accuracy, and customer service. I hired them to diagnose an intermittent chattering noise coming from my Argo switching relay box while the AC was running. I expected standard low voltage electrical testing on the 24V transformer and control circuits with a multimeter. Instead of taking actual electrical measurements, the technician and supervisor fabricated a theory that my Sensi smart thermostat was defective and calling for heating and cooling at the same time. They attempted to charge a $249 service call fee on top of an unnecessary $180 thermostat replacement. Their claim was completely baseless. Built in firmware lockouts make dual calls impossible, the heating circulator pump never activated, and the baseboard pipes were cold. When I questioned the logic, the technician became combative and brought up past invoices, despite every prior job being paid in full. On two prior occasions their own technicians lacked exact change for cash, so I went out of my way to drop off the remaining few dollars at their shop the very next day, and on the third job I paid exact cash. Bringing that up when questioned on a faulty diagnostic was completely unprofessional. He then insulted me on my own property. On top of that, they expected half a service call fee simply for giving an answer, as if guessing without testing justifies billing a customer. The actual fix required no new equipment. A plug in relay cube was merely loose in its socket pins. Once pushed firmly back into place, the chatter stopped entirely and the system has run silently under heavy load ever since. I documented these technical facts and conduct issues in a professional email to their office. The receptionist stated the owner, Bill, would contact me directly upon returning. It has now been over a week with zero follow up or accountability from ownership. Pushing unneeded parts, charging for bogus guesses, and avoiding customer concerns is unacceptable. They will not be getting my business again.
