One of my go to spots in Paris for sure!
When Paris first reopened in 2021, my wife and I rushed to book tickets back to my favorite city! We stayed at a hotel, not too far from this restaurant. As we were walking down the street, we discovered this little hidden gem. We stopped in, after perusing the menu sign outside and were immediately sat in this small, cozy spot to enjoy a meal.
The first time there, we ordered the vegetarian and meat dumplings, and of course, the infamous rice. We were so impressed with how delicious this food was, we came back two more times during that trip. During our last visit, the owner Max came and sat with us and shared the history of the recipe for both of the rice and the dumplings. We were absolutely floored that this man speaks four languages, and how personable he was. An unforgettable experience.
Since returning to Paris in 2023, we were ecstatic to find this spot still open and we made a beeline and brought our friends with us. As we walked up, it pleased me to see Max recognized us - especially after 2 years! We were immediately sat, and given menus to order from. Max came over, and chatted us up again, and we enjoyed the new menu item - fried chicken!
The food was just as delicious as we remembered it and it was amazing to see Max added 2-3 new staff to his restaurant! I can absolutely see him expanding in the future to a new and bigger spot because he has a constant flow of people in this delicious place.
When I make it back, I absolutely plan to go back to the spot. Definitely a gem in Paris. read more
