From the outside the grounds are well kept and the house looks charming. I visited on a Sunday as I was the only person there, the tour guide was friendly and helpful. I found the only thing missing was no kitchen, it took out of some of the luster since kitchens are ea focal point in most historic tours. A neat thing was going into the basement though and seeing displays and the feel of an old house and history down there. I think this would be a must stop at Christmas to when they set up the holiday display.

I love interesting art galleries. Visited Art Gallery of Ontario to squander a few hours while…read morevisiting Toronto. Nice day (it was raining) to spend inside and look at pretty sculptures. I absolutely loved the price point of the gallery and I loved that my ticket would last from opening until closing and that I would be able to leave and come back on that one ticket. Other galleries need to take heed to this. Really a self-guided tour through all exhibits with little interruptions from staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the Kusama exhibit, just wish I was able to stay inside longer than one minute (especially on a day like when I visited and the gallery was not exactly crowded). Enjoyed the exhibits outside as well and will definitely be back to see any new installations that may come.

What to do with your kids during the pandemic? Pickering village museum has hosted a slew of…read moreprograms and one that caught our eyes was this fairy garden/home tours. It was reservation based and everything was set up outdoors with mask mandate in place. We opted for a night slot so we could see the lights better but when we got there, it was such a cold night that we had hard time seeing the fairy homes through our fogged up glasses. Nonetheless, what we could see was magical and beautiful. The tour is self guided using a pre-recorded narration on a device provided by the museum. They also supply you with a map and a stamp card which you can stamp at each fairy house you visit. It was a great fun for my daughter to find these stamps at each fairy houses. Once you find all the stamps, the little ones get a small surprise which was a nice touch! I think we would like to try for a day time tour next year so we can spend more time observing the houses in the daylight.
