We stopped at Hurts donuts on the way out of town. As we were leaving. Don't make that mistake. Go earlier in your trip. The restaurant was extremely clean, but I also think we may have been the first people there. It was very early. The decor was very fun. Whoever did all this stuff had a very good sense of humor as well. The young ladies who served us were bright pleasant and appeared to be enjoying their job, which I thought was a rarity for kids that age I got two different regular donuts,. The first one was a spice cake with caramel and cinnamon, and it was delicious. The second one was some sort of forgettable yeast donut that was just OK. My wife got this huge apple fritter. She ate on that thing most of the day as we traveled. She said it was incredible and extremely good. She also got a cup of some sort of flavored coffee that she said was ok. (brown sugar oat milk) The only drawback was the price, while they are extremely artistic donuts, full of flavor and very pretty. They were also $3 apiece. I'm not really griping here. It was probably worth it. Just be prepared. $30 for a dozen seems high to me. Overall, this is probably one of the top three donut places I've been to (The Donut Stop in Amarillo, Tx and Round Rock Donuts in Round Rock Tx) It just isn't your little mom and pop donut shop! Came in this evening to treat my children to donuts. My son suffers from a dairy allergy so he cannot have any milk. We walked over to the gluten free and dairy section. The female worker explained they were combined. We asked how do we know the donuts aren't cross contaminated due to touching. She explained they could be but the ones marked should be dairy free. We asked about the donuts touching and she said she could make a new one, great! At one point, another female worker said they could guarantee no cross contamination. The female we were ordering with turns to her and starts berating her. Telling her don't ever say that or make those promises. This was occurring in front of my family with two young children. The worked then agreed to make a new donut to avoid issues. My wife asks if she put on new gloves, she goes these are new gloves. Mind you, we watched her touch everything, before we asked for a fresh new donut, and not change gloves. She then goes around back to make the sprinkle donut appearing annoyed. After this ordeal, we felt uncomfortable so we decided to leave. After telling her to stop due to us leaving, she gives us an annoyed look. This experience was disappointing and could have been avoided. To watch a worker berate another and then seem annoyed when asking for accommodations for an allergy was wrong. We only asked simple questions to avoid going to the hospital with an allergy attack. We will not be back because of this ordeal. read more

It's been awhile since our last visit, but we were back in town visiting friends and had to stop. This time we all picked 3 donuts each!!! The store seemed more run down, and the restrooms were closed because of COVID, which really shouldn't be an issue at this juncture. Again, only one person working, but fortunately only one person in front of us. We were like kids in a candy store trying to choose our favorites. I settled on Snickers, Strawberry Cheesecake and Peanut Butter Chocolate. All three were very good. The donuts are a nice size and definitely filling. This was my breakfast for a few days. Also ordered a mud pie donut which was a chocolate donut with chocolate icing topped with Oreos and one gummy worm. This Oreos were a little soggy, not sure how but this donut was not too great. When I placed the order I was told this would be a safe, covid friendly, drive up, low touch purchase. When I got their it was just the opposite. I tried this place late at night bc I was just surprised to see a 24/7 donut shop. They have a lot of donuts with toppings. I tried six - a cherry cake donut, a blueberry cake donut with streusel, plain donut with streusel, a (cosmic) brownie donut, a strawberry cheesecake donut and a fruity pebbles. The last three had obviously been sitting for a while bc the pebbles were stale and the icings on the other two were hard. I'm sure they were better fresh but not great tasting at the end of the day. Thanks Yelp!! Happened upon Hurts on a Sunday around noon and was surprised there was a line about 12 people deep. The wait turned out to be only about 10 minutes, and I couldn't wait to get up to the display case to see what the options were! I love that this place has many different bases for their donuts (cake, yeast, chocolate cake, filled, etc) vs. other places that might offer only yeast donuts and just vary the toppings. I left with old fashioned, chocolate birthday cake (chocolate icing on a chocolate cake base), and animal cracker (rainbow ball sprinkles on a vanilla cake base) donuts. While I have a heavy sweet tooth, there was just too much icing on the bday cake; I admit I had to leave some behind. I had been in the ER with a migraine and this is the only thing that sounded good after. I went with my sister at 5am and they were fresh and the employee friendly. I wanted to eat them both but they are huge and I just couldn't so I saved one for later! I got the Reese's and the Cherry cheesecake and I wasn't disappointed! I agree with the other review. This place really does seem like a knockoff of Voodoo Donuts but the donuts are still really good; soft on the inside & a wide variety of flavors. My friend and I got a donut each but honestly, one is more than enough for 2 people. The store itself seems a little dirty though. They also only have one staff doing everything on a weekend. The downtown location seems like it's not as good as its partner on Republic RD. The two times we have came the donuts have been less than even good. I thought maybe they were just having an off day our last visit, but this time seemed to be the same routine. The associate was very short with people, and actually tried multi tasking while people were trying to decide. So the person would have to constantly say; excuse me every time they had a question. After I placed my order the clerk took my card swiped it, handed it to me, and went to the back. She didn't say anything, she didn't push the donuts toward me, and she didn't hand me a receipt.. I waited for a minute, and when I saw her I said; do you need me to sign something for my receipt? She said no and walked off again!.. The best thing about this place is that it is open every single day, all day. I came here with my friends recently around midnight and only left around 3. Where else can I find such a chill and fun place to hang out in that is open that late?! The look of the place is SO CUTE! They have a huge "hurts donuts​" sign that is the perfect backdrop for Instagram pictures. They have multiple seating areas including a swing chair and a secluded upstairs area. BONUS: they have tables big enough to fit your whole squad, so no more awkward standing. While this place is AMAZING for their doughnuts, I would not recommend their lattes. We saw that this was a Simpsons inspired donut shop and couldn't resist. Got a half dozen (you have options to get 1/2 or dozen where you pick the 1/2/dozen or they do). We got a homer (classic donut with pink frosting and sprinkles), birthday cake (chocolate brownie cake donut with chocolate frosting and sprinkles), blueberry streusel, Jesús (think churro donut), cinnamon dust donut, and maple bacon butterscotch chocolate donut and they were so delicious !! Are you hypnotized yet? Good - now that you are, go to Hurts, and stat. This brand spankin' new place promises to be a lot of fun for all of us. It's quirky, it's bright, it's cheerful, the staff is peppy and friendly, and the hand-painted Sailor Jerry menu is fun to read and is reminiscent of other local favorites like Mother's Brewing Co. and Hearts of Fire (the staff at the latter of which, I believe, painted the menu). The display case is chock-full of quirky donuts not previously seen in SGF and channels Portland's infamous VooDoo Doughnut without ripping it off. Cereal donuts, donuts coated in candy, fritters, extra-gluttonous choices like maple bacon donuts, and the ever-tasty blueberry with bright purple frosting. It's exciting just to pick one. I went with the aforementioned blueberry one, as well as one coated in Nerds candy. It was 8 in the morning, but both were deliciously flavorful and fluffy without being too heavy or rich, which is my typical qualm with donuts (I always have a tummy ache afterward). The Nerds donut was especially unique, but it worked. I was sort of worried it wouldn't work but it did beautifully. What else to say? They're 24-hours, which is noble and difficult to do in Springfield, but yesterday one of the owners explained that part of their motivation for doing so was to provide a safe place for the post-bar crowd to have a snack and keep off the streets until they're ready to go home. I like this idea very much, and I'm sure people with the munchies after the 1:30 bar close mark will like that idea very much too. Questionable clientele in the supremely late night/early morning hours is an inevitability, but they're prepared for that too. This is a STRONG THREE Maybe it would be easier if I rated the donuts I had on an individual basis. Part of me wants to say 3 is accurate, but my stomach wants to say give it a four. Its quite complicated reviewing a gourmet doughnut shop because they have the power of creating something heavenly or monstrous. I knew this place was busy all the time, considering every time I walked by it, there was a line ending either at the door or outside the door. the wait was actually not that bad. i have a feeling it would go faster if everyone in line could see what the shop had to offer. the patience of the cashiers is comparable to mother Teresa, as they help customers decide what to get. In the act of fairness here's my individual review of the donuts i had Maple Bacon (4) these things live up to their hype. The bacon is actualy real, and it had the right amount of sweet and salty. Candy Covered Donuts (2) - Am I being too harsh? Maybe if they were a dollar, but sprinkling candy over a chocolate donut doesn't make it amazing. I had a twix, snickers, and toffee (english gentlemen) and all of them were blase. Also, almost all of the candy coated ones were cake donuts. Although they were surpirsingly moist, they didn't clearly label these donuts as cake donuts. Peanu Butter Jelly Donut (3.5) - The combination speaks for itself, but I didn't like how easy it was for the jelly middle to slide out. The donut base itself was not that amazing Coconut Cake Donut (3.5) although I normally don't like these kind of donuts, the toasted coconut really stands out. So what it really boils down to is if you like cake donuts or not? The Maple Bacon is a winner everytime, but everything else is suspect of not living out to its full potential. read more

We recently had a Hurts Donuts open up in Tulsa, OK, but the lines have been so long (2-3 hour wait everyday since opening), which is great for the company, but not so much for me. Finding out Hurts Donuts was around the corner from our hotel was the best news to wake up to. We went around 930 and there was no line. The cashier seemed a bit out of it, perhaps a little too much partying from St. Patrick's Day, so it took a little extra explaining and pointing for which Donuts we wanted.
