Water park was clean and well ran but food prices were insanity. Made me dump out water upon entering park. I did not see any water fountains available to refill.

There are some really great slides, and we had a blast. The lifeguards are great but really quick to admonish. Stopped to admire one of the slides in the lazy river and got a whistle to keep moving, even though no one else was near us. The concession staff were slow, but it was opening weekend. They have an I don't care attitude for the most part, but there were a few who were very friendly. Too many computer issues as well. I was 3rd in line and it took 15 minutes before I got to order. They had to scan my card 8 times. They don't seem to know the concept of hot food.of our 4 meals, not a single one was hot. Fries, chicken strips, tacos, pizza... all room temperature. Was sick on Monday. Street tacos were on corn tortillas that were not at all warmed, they were right out of the package and were dry and rubbery. Pizza, burgers, fries, and chicken strips left sitting out for over 15 minutes before being given to guests. Horrible. Prices were unbelievable. $17 for a hot dog?? Or a slice of pepperoni pizza? No wonder everyone leaves and walks to the Wendy's near the entrance.

On 6/29 my daughter and I took a trip to splash town and we brought her friend. While my daughter was sitting on one of the lounge chairs eating, she looked down to find an open and used condom sitting right below her and her food. We told one of the park members and she laughed and said "ewe". We decided to leave the park and the next morning I attempted to try and contact customer service. I went to the splash town website and tried to email someone and chat with someone. I kept getting put in contact with robot after robot. I called the customer service number 10 or so times. I went to Facebook and found their business page and left comments all over their business page which finally triggered someone to message me via messenger. I told them about our experience and told them that I wanted our season passes refunded. It's the start of the season so I figured I'd given the situation They would be more than accommodating. Not only was I denied my refund, but when I told them that I was going to be contacting corporate as well as the health department, I got a response back saying that the "customer service" department I was speaking to via email was actually corporate themselves. So I am deciding to post on every public platform to let everyone know that hurricane Harbor splash town is absolutely a disgusting and vile place to take your children. I will be contacting the health department as well as OSHA. And when that is done, I will be contacting attourney and filing a civil suit to get my money back. Yall messed with the wrong one. My request for a refund was reasonable, feasible and deserved. Now it's gonna be a big mess.

This is the second year we have had season passes for Hurricane harbor. The park is a little trashy in some places. They always have at least 4-5 rides closed every time we go there and it's getting annoying. The kids love it, but I wish the lazy river was nicer and I wish they had a swim up bar. Six Flags as a whole I feel like has been getting less and less nice every year. Hope they step it up.

Wala Wala Falls. 30-foot slide.

This is the second year that we've had season passes for Splashtown, so we've had an opportunity to visit the park several times. The kids enjoy the water slides, wave pool, and lazy River. As other reviewers have mentioned, some of the slides are always closed. The bathrooms are clean and lockers are available to rent. The lines for food or drink can be long, and the prices are high, as you might expect. The people who work in the parking area, and those who work at the entry have always been helpful and pleasant. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the employees who work inside the park, who are mostly surly teenagers who don't want to be there. To be fair, a few of them are nice, but keep your expectations low. I think Splashway in Sheridan, Texas is infinitely nicer, but it's a longer drive from Houston and significantly more expensive. If distance and price aren't a concern, I would recommend Splashway. Otherwise, Hurricane Harbor is good enough.

I am sad to see the low reviews. I've been coming here for 3 years in a row and let me tell you I love it and the kids love it even more. Service is always friendly and never had an issue with restrooms being dirty. I just don't like that towards the end of the summer the bees and flies gather by the trash cans. Maybe if they invest in time to wash them off every week or two that will help. I love how you can mobile order that's my favorite feature

I have been trying to get a hold of customer svc for 3 months. I chatted and waited 20 mins with no live agent. I called and could not get out of the automated system. I emailed and have no reply back. The customer service dept is non existing. Trying to pay my outstanding debt from last yr. Attempted to cancel season pass after the chemical incident last yr to no avail. I drove to the facility and was told I needed to call national customer svc. Stay away from this establishment. No body will get back to you if you need customer svc assistance.

Canceled refund
Julie H.

The day I bought me and my sons season pass was the day they shut down due to a chemical leak. We got to the park late and couldn't get in because of it. I waited to request the refund because I received emails saying it would reopen in 2 days, so I thought we could still use the passes before the end of summer. After 2 days, they sent another 2 days of closure. Then it turned into weeks. I finally requested my refund and had guest relations contact me back right away saying it's not an issue they would refund the full amount due to the circumstances. I immediately got the notification of the refund, and followed with another email saying that the refund had been CANCELLED. I reached out to guest relations- no reply. I reached out to the support team through the PayPal app, and I was told to give it 5-10 business days to process. (Also, they refunded to my paypal cash plus account that I didn't even have or use). Over a month later and I still don't have the funds, just checked the status of my refund and it showed canceled. I'm annoyed.

Big Rivers is great about offering reasonable pricing for families and they sponsor many nights where they spotlight groups, offering deep discounts. Parking was free. Finding a good parking spot was easy. If you got a special event, bring your walking shoes because there is a lot to see and do. Lots of activities including a petting zoo, carnival rides, axe throwing, inflatables, and more. We like that they have none of the carnival midway games that take your money for a modest prize. They offer lots of food options ranging from carnival fare like funnel cakes to regular food. Prices are what you would expect. The staff is pretty friendly, lots of young people but enough of the older folks to keep things running smoothly. Overall, it's a relatively inexpensive way to celebrate the holidays, giving you lots to do, see, and enjoy without breaking the bank.

The Woodlands Resort

(285 reviews)

Comfy yes, but Convenient? No…read more The Woodlands Resort has so much potential of being a perfect staycation upon driving unto the grounds, but from check in, slowly but surely, you see the extravagant smoke and mirrors of inconvenience that envelops this place. Just checking in is a hassle. Although they advertise in their welcome paraphenanlia that carts are available to take you from the visitor lot to the hotel from 12 to 5, the carts were parked and no one around to drive them. Note- the lot in front of the hotel where you check in is not for overnight parking- you will be towed! After driving around the lot twice, I pulled up and asked the conceirge if I could drop my luggage off while I parked and walked to the hotel. He told me no problem although I was not asked to check it in and get like a ticket to validate my pickup once I parked my car. Luckily, no one else had dropped off their luggage and shifts hadn't changed to have an issue. Check in was a breeze with the typical show me your license and credit card in case of incidentals. Note- They put a $150 hold on your credit card. You're asked if you want 1 or 2 hotel keys which I should have said two because I accidently locked myself out my room night 2 as I had changed bags and picked up the key sleeve without the key in it! That also proved to be quite easy as I just proved my identity through my address and telephone nunber without an id. Although the people were quite nice here, what wasn't so nice was the 2 little bottles of water they give you and no whee to fill them. Sure, get the ice bucket and let the ice melt into water but if you frequently drink water, that will not be enough! You have a little bit of luck when you attend meetings or breakfast in the conference center across the way where they'll have water available. Other than that, those two water bottles per day are all you're going to get! Additionally,, I was extremely disappointed that I found my room the next day not attended to and without water and towels and I had been gone from the room from 9am to 3pm. I called down to front and shared the disatisfaction and in 10 minutes I was given 2 extra bottles besides the two for the day and plenty of towels for my stay (or maybe they didn't want me contacting them again). The scenery of the resort takes away some of the inconveniences of the hotel. If you had to stay here for a conference for several days, you wouldn't feel isolated or enclosed inside since you have to walk outside to get to the conference center, the gym, and breakfast. However, we did have individuals that were present for the event I was attending that had limited mobility. It would have been nice to at least accommodate those individuals. I even helped other attendees carry luggage to their car to the visitor lot because AGAIN no one was driving around carts to assist people in this regard and it was the first weekend that summer had started ,so you know it was hot!!!! Drinks at the bar are slow as molasses with one bartender. The first night I was there, the young lady behind the bar looked so overwhelmed... I didn't even want to order, but someone else was paying for my drink and insisted, so I ordered a lemon drop. I did ask if she knew how to make it and she said yes. It wasn't the worse but not the best. Others in my party stated the same. I did enjoy the gym that had just enough cardio, weight machines, and other aerebic equipment to get a good sweat. Towels and water are in the room along with disinfecting wipes. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choices. I do love a good omelet and fresh juice bar! You can request a cup of coffee to go too! Certainly if I came here again I would be prepared to have my own water and my walking shoes ready. Pretty location but an hour drive for me using the toll. It's a toss up if I would come back if the organization that organized the conference I attended chose this location for a conference next year.
