Started calling shops, and NW Diesel answered their phone and said they could fit us in to look at the truck. The AC ended up going out on us as well. Once we arrived (after dropping the horse trailer and horses), they were able to pull the truck in within less than 10 min to check it out and determined the issue right away and get the part ordered and fixed within a couple of hours or less. They were very helpful and understanding of the situation and able to explain what was going on. The lobby is very clean and does not have a mechanic shop or oil or grease smell. In early 2025,…read moremy 2014 Ram 2500 Powerwagon had a bad tick and it turned out to be a bad lifter that wore the camshaft... long story short, I needed a new 6.4l hemi for my truck. I got quotes for it from about 11 different mechanics. I went with 5 MILE AUTO CENTER because of the communication and the transparency of what was included and how much each item would cost. The work was done in the promised timeframe and they kept me informed on the progress and answered questions every time I had them. Then when I came in after done work and made my final payment I was informed that not everything they quoted was needed and they were able to do the work for less than what they thought and agreed on. THEY WERE TOTALLY HONEST AND ACTUALLY CHARGED ME OVER $500.- LESS !!!! I could not believe it! I have not met anyone like that!! Then later on after about 2 weeks, the fan was still much louder than I was used to (turned out my old fan clutch was actually broken and that is why it was so quiet) he replaced it and put in a new one, all under warranty, did not charge me a dime! In addition they topped off my transmission fluid which was low, for no charge at all. My experience with 5 MILE AUTOMOTIVE CENTER could not have been more pleasant! John informed me that Inland Sales and Services didn't provide the part, so I'd need to get the replacement first. I went to O'Reilly's and the worker confirmed he couldn't replace it, as it was too far back. I was able to go to Inland Sales and Services the same day. I made an appointment for the next morning. I was quoted $70-80 for the replacement, which was less than I was expecting. I came back the next morning. There was a waiting area, with a tv and a few kids toys. There is a soda machine, if you need to wait a while. I had to wait maybe an hour. The labor was $70, and the total was $80. I think the labor was a bit high, but I understand the skill. I'd come back to this shop.

In February 2025 I brought my 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500HD to Mechanics Pride South Hill because it…read morewas not running right. It had a rough idle, surging and was dying. They called me and told me that it had low compression on cylinder 1 and was going to need a new engine as well as many other repairs it needed. After quoting me a very high price, I declined and proceeded to pick up my truck later that day. When I went to pick up my truck, they again stated it would need a new engine, but when I asked what caused the low compression they stated that they did not know why. After taking matters into my own hands, I found amazing and consistent compression on all 8 cylinders of my engine and a faulty EGR valve that was causing all my problems. After replacing the EGR valve the truck ran flawlessly and hasn't had that problem since. I am so glad I didn't fall for a new engine! I would recommend staying away from Mechanics Pride as clearly they have no clue what they are doing. Thanks for nothing!
