Most recently they installed some new flat bluestones over top of a previously pea gravel patio which they installed a few years ago. In order to do it right, they needed to level out and build another layer on the previous stone retaining wall. There was no hassle or uncharge, and they completed everything ahead of schedule. Thanks to Dan, Seth, Mike and Tim!

Dan is a creative, caring, and communicative business owner. His team, led by Seth, was an absolute pleasure to work with - they did a truly fantastic job and were so nice and helpful throughout. After they were done, we had a small issue with drainage (because right after they laid down the patio, there were torrential downpours for days, not allowing our pavers to settle). I'm not kidding when I say within five minutes of emailing Dan on a Friday evening to let him know, he called us to say he and Seth were coming over right away to take a look. Because of continued bad weather, they had to come back a few times over the next few weeks to make sure everything was good. Yes, they made our patio a little slice of heaven, but we were actually the most impressed with their post-project attentiveness and customer-focused desire to make everything right. Now we have a perfect space and can't wait to enjoy it over the summer! Highly, highly recommend!

After taking pictures of the beautiful blooms that very day, I was devastated to find my garden looking as if it had been hit by a hurricane when I arrived home. Four flats of marigolds that I had personally purchased, planted and fertilized were crushed, broken at the base of the stem, or blown completely out of the ground with buds blown far beyond the perimeter of my garden, along with one of my mums. When I requested compensation from Mr. Ebling, he informed me that it was his fall clean-up procedure "to remove any annual plants which are dead or dying prior to the first frost." Interestingly, flowers DO NOT DIE prior to the first frost, and they did not REMOVE my plants, they simply killed them! Sadly for Mr. Ebling, his young employees have more integrity, and quickly apologized when they saw my garden looking as if it had been hit by a hurricane. Evidently, a new employee was hired to do the leaf blowing and couldn't tell the difference between a garden in full bloom and a pile of leaves. But all of that was lost on Earl Ebling; he only sought to escape responsibility for Earl E. Ebling Landscaping, and lie about what had transpired, concluding that he would buy one flat of marigolds for me next year. Unfortunately, the worse rating possible on yelp is one star, otherwise, I would have chosen a zero star rating.

The technician was at our home for less than 30 minutes. He vacuumed the pool briefly, treated the water, and then informed us that his pool vacuum had stopped working. When he left, the water actually appeared greener than it had before he started. There was no effort to remain and monitor the treatment or ensure the pool was improving. When we asked whether the pool would clear up, we never received a direct answer. Afterward, we communicated through Yelp regarding the pool's progress. We were repeatedly told that we had a phosphate issue and should have the water tested. However, we hired them a professional specifically to diagnose and treat the pool, so we expected water testing and guidance to be part of the service we paid for. The technician also stated that he would return to vacuum the pool again if we were not satisfied. That follow-up was necessary because the leaves and debris on the bottom of the pool were never completely removed during the initial visit due to his equipment failure. He communicated he would be there sometime the upcoming week no definitive day and time. (Red Flag) Unfortunately, he never contacted us again to schedule that return visit, nor did he follow up to check on the pool's condition. In the end, we purchased our own chemicals and successfully eliminated the algae ourselves. We then hired another pool company to finish the job. They scrubbed the pool walls, vacuumed the entire pool, tested and balanced the water, provided us with a detailed water test report, and left us with a crystal-clear blue pool before leaving our property. They also gave us instructions for maintaining the pool ourselves or using their services in the future. That level of service is what we expected when we hired Dot's Pool Service. Our disappointment was not just with the results, but also with the lack of follow-up, communication, and accountability. We genuinely wanted to support a small business and had high hopes, but our experience was very different. Clear communication, reliability, and standing behind your work are essential in any business. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Dot's Pool Service and would encourage others to consider other options.
