We really enjoyed our stay there - good-sized rooms, friendly staff and very conveniently located. The building itself is very nice, too - the dining room is particularly impressive. Breakfast was ok, but not exceptional. (I cannot comment on the restaurant as we had dinner elsewhere). Do check booking.com or similar sites - we got the room for about half the regular fare (we paid around £69 for the double). There is a public car park just around the corner (pay & display). Overall, I can really recommend this hotel!

We booked a family room which said one…read moredouble bed and one single bed on the reservation; in actuality it was two twin beds and one bunk bed. We had a good laugh...settled our son into the bunk, and then did our best Lucy and Ricky good night kiss as we turned into our separate beds! Check-in was easy and very personal; it was like we were friends that they were waiting for. They asked if we wanted a newspaper in the morning; and told us about the included breakfast. She also did a good job of explaining the parking option, which was helpful (it's a public lot that charges after 9am...but she explained that if we paid that night it would roll over to the morning and we wouldn't have to go down and pay in the am). The room was clean and had all the things you expect in an old hotel (creaky floors, etc.). We had an issue with the hot water in the bathroom for showers, but not enough to ruin our stay. My favorite part was the coffee/tea set up in the room, complete with some Walkers Shortbread Cookies. Yummy! Breakfast was so great. It's served in their dining room, proper service with linens. Food is served buffet style and had a good variety including some tradition Scottish fare like haggis and black pudding (blood sausage). All in all it was a great stop on our Scotland experience.

From the putting the key card into the power slot to the compact bathroom (With the REALLY big tub) to the lay out of the room, it was all reminiscent of a cruse ship cabin. And that was so different to a US hotel room, and not in a bad way. The bed was large and comfortable, the pillows were plentiful, the tv was nice. The water was hot. the kettle was great. I love that it was a kettle vs a coffee maker! What they did really differently? No small sized shampoo and conditioner, no individual soap. It's a pump container on the wall in the shower of shower gel that is both shampoo and body wash. And a pump beside the sink that is for the face and hands. It smells very masculine to my nose and I'm just a touch allergic to it. This location is RIGHT next door to the Perth Theatre, and made an excellent destination for us after watching the show. I'm glad we were able to secure one of the parking spots behind the hotel at 5 pounds per night.

Something differnet ie curry, lamb, beef etc. Prices are very reasonable and youcan add to the carvery menu ie starter and/or pudding. Mouthwatering meals at a very reasonable price. The restaurant seats a reasonable amount of people. The only downside I would say is there is very limited parking.

Would have given this a 5 except that the bed had seen better days. The gentleman ("small Scott", as he referred to himself) is very professional, personable with great hospitality skills. The man checking us in was a bit brusque and questioned the reason for us asking for a fridge and tried to give us some b/s about smaller towns in Scotland not having them in hotel rooms. He also tried the hard sell for brekkie. Dude ... please ... we are experienced (crusty) travellers who have travelled throughout Scotland. Regardless, this is well-run property. No complaints!

With 15 rooms it's really more of an Inn…read more Situated a sort 5 minute walk from the train station (but you don't hear any train) and a quick 10 minutes from the town center it's a great location if you a visiting on a short holiday like we were. There is a nice park next to it as well. Rooms are huge!! By UK standards with king size bed ( at least in out room). The rooms are a bit dated, but not in a bad way. They were clean and neat. The have a nice bar and lounge room where I sit writing this review, but the real gem is the out door patio and garden. Absolutely beautiful, in fortunately is has been raining part of the day and we are unable to enjoy them. But the advertise a beer garden, so even if you are not staying here I would say it is worth a visit and a pint on a fine summer night

The lounge is warm and inviting with a wood fire burning and lots of comfortable chairs to relax in. We ate in the bar, there is also a restaurant, great choice of food which was excellent. Again service was very good. Our bedroom was amazing! The king bed was very comfortable, the room spacious and beautifully decorated with an en-suite bathroom. I would absolutely recommend the Bein Inn Hotel. It is charming and welcoming, fabulous service and great food, perfect for everyone! Will definitely be returning. When…read moreentering the reception are we were met by the chef as no receptionist about but this was done with professionalism and cheer. High level of cleanliness and even on a wednesday at 1pm there were a fair few tables full. We were seated and shown the menu, ordered a drink and the specials were explained with enthusiasm. We ordered and mentioned that we had a voucher and this was dealt with without issue. Main course arrived within 15 minutes and was piping hot, well presented and delicious. Would absolutely recommend as the food was excellent, service excellent and the atmosphere was also excellent

The food was very good and the service, although a little slow, was impeccable. The beautiful restaurant is like a room in a stately home with artistically painted wall panels. There are some other sitting rooms and a nice bar with a real fire. Incidentally, the bar is open 24 hours for residents at the time of writing. Unfortunately, the accomodation was disappointing to say the least. On arrival, we found that we would not be staying in the Country House building, but instead, in the "Sportsman's Lodge". Okay, we thought, ' still sounds good. However, when we drove a minute or two down the road, we discovered that the "Sportsman's Lodge" was, in fact, about 20 little Butlins style cabins with no WiFi. Sparcely furnished and worn, and the mattress was so soft and thin, that we "bottomed-out" on it. Each cabin had it's own bathroom, but it was a big let down compared to where we thought we would be staying.. That said, it wasn't crazy expensive (~UKP 140), so I guess we got what we paid for, and the (extra cost) dinner and breakfast in that beautiful restaurant partially made up for it. Beautiful grounds too, but the bait and switch on the accomodation was definitely disappointing. None of the pictures on the (third party) website showed the exterior of the "Sportsman's Lodge", just the beautiful Country House.

From the moment you walk in the front door you know you're staying somewhere special. We stayed for two nights, on the Friday and Saturday night, and after our disappointing stay at the Dunkeld Hilton, this cheered us up. We didn't stay in the main hotel building but were lodged in the "Riverside Suites". The room was perfect and had a door leading out on to a small covered balcony overlooking their fishing beat on the river Tay. The balcony had a table and a couple of chairs so you could sit and take in the view and fresh air. We arrived a bit too late for lunch so opted for afternoon tea in the drawing room which is this big old room with those lumpy comfy chairs you'd expect of a pile such as this. On the first night we opted to dine in starting with aperitifs in the bar. The barman knocked up a couple of mean bloody mary's to get our appetites going. The restaurant is top notch and I found my three courses of scallops, chicken (really regretted not having the fillet steak after I spotted it on another diner's plate) and desert exquisite. The saucing and presentation were outstanding. As you would expect from an establishment such as the Ballathie their wine list is pretty extensive and they also have a decent selection of "new world" wines. We opted for a bottle of Angus The Bull to go with our dinner which was excellent. All in all I couldn't find a fault with the Ballathie, it would have been nice to stay in the main building, but we weren't disappointed with the river side suites. I'll definitely be back.

Walking in, I was instantly in awe of the beautiful golf course and the lineup of Bentleys and Rolls Royces casually parked out front. Talk about arriving in style! And the cherry on top? A friendly Scottish staff in full kilt attire, greeting everyone at the entrance--I felt like I'd stepped into a movie. We wandered around the hotel, soaking it all in, and couldn't resist staying for dinner. Such a fun and fancy experience!

Buying a bow, arrows, and target is less expensive than that!!! I made my money's worth, as I made the record for the week, but still, $500 is way too much. Besides that, beautiful rooms, scenery, and food. My favorite part was the breakfast buffet. I had the best smoked salmon I've ever had. I would recommend you only come if you're willing to blow a few thousand dollars.
