This is a review solely of the restaurant, and I have no experience of the hotel itself.
Several of my friends and I were on our way to Kenmore and decided to stop here for lunch, as most other places were closed. I haven't been up to this part of the country before, but if this was my sole experience of it, I would be unlikely to come back.
On the upside, the restaurant is slightly overpriced but everyone agreed that the food was great, and we didn't grudge the prices. This is where the positives end.
The service we received was incredibly disappointing, with several of us not being served utensils until we specifically asked for them, no salt or pepper on the table, very small jug of water offered for 6 people, and an overall unpleasant overtone to every interaction we had with staff. I would maybe attribute this to us being loud (as any group of 8 would be), but most of our exchanges with the staff happened before we'd even started talking. There was seldom a 'please' or 'thank you' on their end despite us being incredibly polite and apologetic for the hassle serving so many people is.
It may have been a bad day, but all of us noted that they weren't serving us in the same way as the locals and there was a slight hostile feeling to it.
The food is lovely, though. read more
