We stayed here September 2023. On the site we used to book the hotel the description stated they are in Edinburgh, Scotland, had 2 room suites available and had a washer/dryer available for guest use. This hotel is in Kirkcaldy, which ended up being 2 hours outside of Edinburgh. Even though the site stated a 2 room suite, when we got there we got a single room with a double and a child's bed and were told this was what we reserved. The Washer/dryer was strictly for the hotel only, we had to find a laundromat nearby. Additionally, the menus provided showed dinner was from 6:30 pm to 9pm. Whenever we arrived, may it have been 6:45pm or 7pm, we were told dinner was already shutdown. We also had trouble getting back to Kirkcaldy after 7pm. As the city apparently shuts down around 6:30pm. However, if you are going to Scotland to explore and experience the country, do not stay at this hotel. Kirkcaldy is a quiet out of the way town. Be sure that the hotel you choose is actually centered in Edinburgh or the city you want to explore. Scotland was amazing and I do plan on returning. read more

We stayed at the hotel and needed a late dinner (it was 8 p.m. or thereabouts). We were tired and didn't want to drive around, so we opted for dinner in the hotel restaurant. What a good decision that turned out to be, and what a treat! In addition to excellent, attentive service, we found that the small portions of the entrées still gave us plenty of food. One of us got the small Steak Pie (£6.95), another chose the Lasagne Al Forno (£7.95), and the third chose the evening special (sorry, I don't remember what it was, but it was £6.95). For £21.85, we had a dinner that was delicious and far surpassed the quality of the food we ate at many other restaurants on our trip to the U.K. The value of the food and the service were so good. If I lived anywhere near Edinburgh, I would visit the good people at the Victoria Hotel any time I needed a night away from the kitchen. read more

Hotel is ok actually, the rooms are serviceable, lovely architecture from a bygone time, staff are generally friendly enough however, the food is awful, I had the worst fish and chips here, couldnt eat it. Terrible texture and taste, was like its been in the freezer for months and months. Not nice at all. Veg is blast microwaved on demand and all tastes like rubber, dont know how long its been on a dish under clingfilm, was probably batch boiled the previous week. The service in the morning was quite poor with one staff member being a bit irate that I asked him for toast and tea 15 minutes before start at 07:00. Plus when I got the teapot, low and behold, there was a sheen of oil on my tea as the teapot is washed with greasy pots and pans, quite horrible. This isnt even based on one visit, this is multiple visits I've had terrible food. It truly is awful, bread that isnt fresh, frozen food thats been in there for months. No exageration, this is the worst meal I ever had and I'm not even that fussy. Avoid for food or only eat the soup, that was the only fresh thing there. Amazed at the other posting of nice food, no way. Also forgot to mention the snooker club opposite and the shouting and screaming match that was happening between some rogues prior to them throwing an empty bottle at each other. Not really the hotels fault but its in the same roadway to the car park. read more

staff very helpful polite and friendly,food was great and selection of cakes after well out of this world. this was my uncles favourite place to come 4 high tea he loved it as did the whole family. had his wake here 2 lovely place highly recommended x read more
