Great location! We returned from a bus tour of the Highlands and needed rooms for the night before heading to the airport for an early flight. Proximity to drop-off location was convenient. Check-in was fast and easy. Both the dinner and drinks from the hotel lounge were delicious. The rooms were small, but clean and tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable.The staff even arranged for our 6 AM taxi pickup and prepared complimentary breakfast bags complete with sandwiches, fruits, juice, croissants and pastries! read more

I enjoyed my stay at this Ibis Hotel at St Andrew's Square in Edinburgh . The staff is amazing , everyone was so friendly , helpful and accommodating! The decor is trendy and modern. It is located about 5 mins from the Waverley train station. Although the room was on the tiny side it was cute and spotless with very comfortable beds . I loved the wallpaper , it was huge thistle flowers , which is the flower of Scotland. The breakfast buffet was wonderful , cappuccino , teas , cereal , ham , cheese, fruit and more . The only thing I found odd was that there were no tissues in the room and no refrigerator . Aside from that I would highly recommended this adorable hotel . read more

My friend and I came here for a weekend getaway in Edinburgh. This was a lovely place to stay! Check in was easy and the staff was so friendly and helpful. They have a lovely restaurant with trendy and modern decor mixed with mid century modern furniture. It is an adorable spot to have their continental breakfast for a nightcap. Their breakfast that is included with your room is superb! They had a large assortment of pastries, breads, spreads, fresh fruit, assorted meat, cheese, yogurt, fresh veggies, coffee, tea, and also vegan options! The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We slept well here and they even have an AC in the room. They also do luggage storage before and after you check out which is incredibly helpful. They are within walking distance of many restaurants and shops as well as the train station. You can't go wrong staying here! read more

Nothing particularly special about this place other than the helpful staff. It is conveniently located in a very walkable city, but easy to catch an Uber if needed. The breakfast buffet is alright, nothing special. The art in the lobby is pleasant. read more

Great location close to so many sights and the waverly train station! Plus the hop on, hop off bus is right across the street. The room wasn't super big, but it was clean and comfortable! It didn't come with a safe or fridge, but it had one usb charger which was nice. Breakfast came included and it was pretty extensive - pancakes, bacon, eggs, cereal, toast, fruit, etc. It was great in the mornings and we even packed a few ham sandwiches for lunch. The Ibis is a first class hotel with a wonderful staff. They offer a breakfast with everything you could want. The facilities are world class and smartly decorated. Strongly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay close to the sights, shopping and events. Strongly suggest a room on the upper floors. We elected to stay on main floor since there was a room available before our check in time. The late night street noise could be heard, but then again, it was our choice. When we return it will not stop us from booking again. read more

I love this hotel. The rooms are very tidy, not roomy but that doesn't bother me at all. My only problem was that the pillows weren't very great and even gave me a migraine- but if I come back to Scotland after visiting a few other countries, I'm definitely coming back here for a time. The staff made me feel as if they had known me forever, they were so nice and accommodating. They even looked up places and gave me directions, they would make calls for me too. The breakfast they provide is good. They have delicious pulled pork "tacos" and kitchen skewers. The food was good, but it was expensive and came in very small portions. This is a nice hotel. The people working there are very nice. The hotel is clean and the availability of food and drink is good. Not being from the area I was just searching for a nice hotel for a fair price which it was. The only thing was all of the activities and restaurants we went to were in the old town section so we ubered an awful lot. I would have stayed in old town had I known that ahead of time. I'm used to a full breakfast either included or having the option to pay extra for one. Ibis Styles only had a continental breakfast available which actually suited my needs and prevented me from my usual overeating. There are plenty of things to do from this hotel within walking distance and one of the reasons we chose this hotel was it's closeness to the Christmas Market. read more

Reasonably priced, great location, fun decor, clean and comfortable, quiet and relaxed, what more could you ask for? I spent one night here in a twin room that totally lived up to my hopes. The room was a good size and the en suite shower room was really quite spacious. I loved the Scottish themed design which was modern and colourful. I won't ruin the surprises but there are lots of pleasing details in the room and the rest of the hotel. The beds were really comfortable and the room included a flatscreen TV, telephone, hairdryer, kettle and lots of tea and coffee. I'm a real sucker for the little packets of biscuits in hotel room and it was the one small thing I missed here. A couple of packets of shortbread would have been very fitting! I liked the little reading lights above the bed, as someone who likes to read into the wee hours it was a very handy thing.The room was really clean and well maintained as well. The hotel amenities were also good. There's free wifi throughout the hotel and two computer monitors in the lobby for checking email etc. There's a 24 hour bar and meals are served in the evening. Breakfast is included with rooms and they have a contintental style buffet which really has everything you could hope for: cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts and compote, cereal, toast, rolls, mini pastries and muffins and all the jams plus mini servings of Nutella! Teas, coffees and juices are included too of course and you can help yourself to hot drinks in the lobby at any time. The breakfast room/bar/restaurant is nicely laid out with some booth sections so you don't feel like you're forced to eat with strangers, which can be a bit challenging first thing in the morning! The hotel is located on St Andrews Square so it's two minutes from Princes Street, five minutes from Waverly Train Station and maybe ten minutes walk to the Old Town. The area is well served by buses and trams and you have lots of shops, cafes, restaurants, theatres and cinemas on your doorstep. Even the National Portrait Gallery is right around the corner. Although it's central it's on a quiet corner of the square and there's next to no traffic at night. Rooms with a view onto the square might get more noisy during the day but you can ask for a room at the back of the hotel (no view) if you want guaranteed quiet. I can't fault this hotel, it's slightly more expensive than other budget chains but you get a lot more for your money. Looking forward to checking out more Ibis Styles hotels in future! read more

As a group of 3 we booked the "cozy family room". Alas- this room is not so "cozy" but rather the third bed which is an uncomfortable cot attached to an arm chair is rigid and does not deserve to be called a bed. We had to rotate who slept on this as it was so terrible an experience. The double bed however- was fine and if you need a room for 2- this is your place. However- do not book their "cozy family room" if travelling in a group of 3 as that third bed is not suitable for sleeping. It is a shame they have skimped so badly on the triple room as the rest of the hotel experience was good. The location is fantastic and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself has modern and funky designs. They serve a free continental breakfast in the hotel each morning- croissants, muffins, toast, yogurt, cereals, cheeses etc. which is not bad. They also have a machine for free tea's and coffee's in the lobby any time during your stay. Overall- this review would have been a lot higher if they had invested properly in their triple room. I felt very cheated to have paid an increase for the "sofa" arm-chair cot. This place is only suitable if you are staying in a double. read more

Super unfortunate circumstance, apparently there was a system problem and upon our arrival they told us that they didn't have a room for us available for our first night out of two. They offered to put us up in their sister hotel all the way across the city and then have us come back for the following night. Although the desk staff were nice, they seemed less than sympathetic not apologetic; not understanding why this was a huge inconvenience. We booked this location for its great central location, moving across the city wasn't really an option as our entire trip itinerary revolved around the central location and the walking availability. When we asked them for a full refund so we could scramble to book another hotel for the night, they said that they could only refund us for one night because it was past 2pm??!! Our flight didn't land until 4:00p... And because we booked through a travel site we would need to take it up with them. Even though this was completely their error, we were somehow responsible for coordinating our refund, (which I can understand to a certain point)... But basically they were still getting paid by us for a room that they double booked... I understand that may be policy, but considering it was their issue, we should not be asked to pay them ANYTHING. Especially when other couples were able to walk in and get their rooms... I'm sure it has something to do with booking through a travel site- Not really out problem. Sadly we will not be recommending them. A positive: the hotel lobby is modern and colorful. We were really looking forward to our stay. Edit: they were eventually able to speak with a manager and offer us a full refund, will give them an extra star for their client service. read more

Very charming hotel. Location is outstanding, with easy access to the train station, restaurants, and many attractions. Staff members were excellent - friendly, helpful, and accommodating. While the rooms were not large, they make solid use of space, having all necessary accommodations. Wifi signal was strong in the room and throughout the hotel. Will definitely stay there again if we return to Edinburgh. read more

Sure, you are staying at an Ibis Hotel, and you may think it isn't all that great - however I have to say this place is GREAT! The staff is super friendly, the hotel itself has a stylish and fun aspect. It is in a quieter part of Edinburgh (New town) and is easily accessible to most sights. We truly enjoyed our experience and for the price.. well it would be hard to beat the price/quality at this Ibis Hotel. I wholeheartedly recommend this place! read more
