I was naive and felt like I had to make sure you weren't upset with us when I voiced a concern. I felt like I constantly had to reassure you that we appreciate your school because you would write back lengthy emotional emails when we would simply ask about something our child said happened. My husband even called a meeting with you to address this with you last year, and ask you to stop threatening us to leave each time we asked about a concern. Yes we were very happy with the Grove and Ms Claudia and Ms Eddy, until the pattern of failure to address the misbehavior became undeniable and my child was choked in Ms Marisol's class and left with a bruise and scratches. The more that happened and wasn't addressed, the more displeased we became. The first year at the grove was amazing, and MsEddy and Ms Claudia treated our first son with respect and guidance and he loved it. He loved it until the school continued to fail to address this other child containing to hurt and threaten my child's safety. ALL of which were acknowledged by you (once I asked what happened) and then minimized. Maybe your teachers need more support and staff to help supervise the classrooms, which have different spaces and are not open concept. The students cannot all be supervised by 1 teacher while the other one is preparing snack or changing diapers. What I asked of the school before you terminated us, was to evaluate this other child's disruption to the classroom. Our request was to know what actions happen when a child continues to cause bodily harm to another. Your response was that these are norm behaviors of children, which I disagree with completely. It is not normal for the same Child over the course of 1.5 years to touch my child's penis, bite him, push and pull him, grab toys from him daily, and eventually choke him and leave scratches. The word expulsion never came out in any of my emails with the school so before you call my facts libelous, please check yours. Your handbook that states an "open door policy" is not honored by you. In an email in January 2021 after we asked to do a visit to meet Ms Nayely since she was new you stated "Unfortunately, we do not plan to have parent classroom observations. They disrupt the routine and send the message that there is a lack of trust between home and school. Having been here since last year, I assume you are very comfortable with Ms. Eddy's leadership in the Toddler classroom and have full faith in her ability to guide her students and mentor her new assistant. I welcome and appreciate parent feedback, but I feel it is my responsibility to observe the classrooms and make necessary changes based on the information provided." Clearly you don't observe well enough if you cannot take actions to ensure proper supervision of the younger classrooms.

Now, our 2 year old is enrolled and he LOVES it just as much as his older siblings did and even had one of their old teachers. We are currently in the process of having to search for a new Montessori, as we are planning a move down the the Pearland/Friendswood area next Summer to be closer our family and for work. The search for another Montessori has been very heartbreaking thus far, as the handful of schools that we have looked at don't give us that "feeling" we got when we found KSMS. Immediately we knew that KSMS was one of the good ones and we haven't found one that is comparable to it down in that area yet. As crazy as it may seem to some, we have seriously considered making the 1hr commute up/down to Spring from Pearland so that our son can continue attending KSMS and eventually for his younger sibling when the day comes. That's how good of a school KSMS is and that's how high of a standard they have set for us to compare other schools to. My husband and I have worked with children ourselves for many years, and you can tell when someone genuinely likes and understands kids; they understand kids and they LOVE them!

I made a huge mistake counting on Fusion to help my family - my teenager missed 3 months of her well respected school second to illness and withdrew for the semester and went to Fusion desperate to learn and catch up. We realized early on that Fusion was not a good fit - teaching quality was, at times, dismal with poor accountability of advancing curriculum/challenging my teenager. Our sincere efforts to engage the individual teachers, administrations were numerous from the begining - encompassing easily 40 emails. Despite raising concerns repeatedly with teachers and administrators, we felt our concerns were dismissed or not meaningfully addressed. Per my teenager AND while overhearing an online class, the teaching was maybe15 minutes per 60 minute class and then teacher would make AI generated work for the student to do on own. You pay approximately $135/hr. I am so sorry to say this, but my teenager often felt some teachers were unable to answer questions in sufficient depth or explain the AI-generated assignments they provided. My teenager said it was a waste of her time --- the excruciating fact is that my teenager really wanted to catch up on missed school because of a long illness. She spent February to June, 2026, at Fusion & made little progress except for what she taught herself out of desperation (one good thing she learned to teach herself). The credits earned, we have decided, will not to ever appear on her transcript; for us, it does not represrent quality education. Forget the 16-17k, the tremendous family stress related to Fusion not delivering; it was my teenager that was affected most and I cannot stop apologizing to her for choosing Fusion.

I did not and still do not like the principal - she seems very plastic to me and usually sporting an expression like she has no idea what's going on but is doing a good job of faking it. The very first day when we were doing things "wrong" she in a very rude tone asked had we been at parent/teacher night before school started and we said no we were out of town. I didn't feel like there was a problem as I had spoken to my son's teacher before the first day. But what anyone neglected to mention was anything about procedures for dropping and picking children up so when the principal spoke to us using terms as if we had any idea what she was referring to it furthered my dislike of her. I have since learned this is her very first year not only at this school but as a principal period. That explained a lot. She's desperately trying to show off her capability but is going about it with too much effort so she looks scattered in anything she does. Parents are allowed to drop kid off in the morning after signing in at the office which includes them scanning your photo ID and being given a sticker with your ID and where you will be printed upon it. But parents are not even allowed into the building in the afternoon for pick up - not even the Pre K or kindergartners for supposed security reasons. Why it's different for the afternoon than morning is anyone's best guess. They are constantly begging for volunteers and cannot seem to figure out why they have so few when they have such a cold, unwelcoming, unfriendly policy for/with the parents. The very first week my 5 year old in his first year was given homework! This shock and astounded me in a very bad way. I even asked my father for confirmation and he agreed that when I was in school we didn't start getting homework until second grade. It's a very tedious "chore" to make a child that young sit and do a worksheet or two a night. I'm still not thrilled with it but there's not much I can do unless I do want to remove him from the public school system. I had problems with his teacher at first. My child had never been in any kind of school environment and I made this very well known to her. The 2nd or 3rd week of school she sent a note home 3 out of 5 days saying my child didn't do his work and would I talk to him about that! That upset me in about 18 different colours! What did she want *me* to do about a problem she was having with my child during *her* time with him. I was not going to punish him or curtail any activities because at age 5 he would have already dismissed anything said to him by her earlier in the day. A meeting was scheduled for myself, his teacher and the counselor. Then hurricane Ike hit! The school was closed for a week and two days. They opened a Wed almost 2 weeks before HISD did though the vast majority of teachers' and students' homes still had no power or water. I still find this lapse inexcusable! How could staff members properly prepare for a day with no water or power? How could parents properly prepare their children for school without power or water. Oh they said it was perfectly okay to not being the kids if there was no power or water on - it would just be excused absences. But now my child has 3 absences on his record that I do not think should be there at all! After the time off from the hurricane when he did get back to school my child suddenly got right into the swing of things and all the skills I'd told them he already possessed came shining through. A meeting was scheduled for me his teacher and the counselor only for a different reason this time. They asked was I okay having him go over to one of the First grade classes for reading and having him nominated for the gifted and talented program after the winter break was over? No I have no problem with that at all. I have since volunteered for the book fair {I got horribly sick too}. And have a much better relationship with his teacher and most of the staff. I am not sure if I will ever warm up to the principal ever.
