He was always available to text and really, really knew his stuff. Then, to get more clarity on the admissions process, I signed up for an admissions counseling session with the managing partner Mayssoun Bydon. I was shocked by how big a waste of time and money this was. It's an incredibly expensive service, at around $500 an hour. I had prepared a long list of questions and wanted to use that time as effectively as possible. Not only did she show up over 25 minutes(!) late for the session, she was remarkably unengaged and gave information that was more than unhelpful. I was shocked by her lack the lack of professionalism she exhibited for someone with such a good reputation. I asked about the character and the experience of what it would be like to go to different law schools, and she told me just to look at their rankings "and that would tell me the vast majority of what I needed to know". I asked with my scores what schools I should be applying for, and she told me University of Illinois, University of Iowa, etc. I told her this wasn't right, and that my GPA seemed lower than it actually was bc I went to an undergrad school known for its lack of grade inflation. She told me this didn't matter, and that I shouldn't bother with top schools. Well, I ended up getting accepted into schools in the T-14. If I followed her advice I would have missed a massive opportunity. Also, she asked me if I had any personal connections to any of the top schools. I told her that my great uncle had been a janitor at the Unicersity of Chicago. She insinuated that I should lie and say he was my grandfather on the application. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

DO NOT TEST FOR YOUR GED HERE!! Go elsewhere and test at professional test centres where your…read moreambitions and hard efforts will be respected. I am utterly shattered by the ordeal I endured at the testing center on 06/01/2024. After mustering every ounce of courage to confront my test anxiety and finally pursue my GED, I was met with a heart-wrenching setback that I never anticipated. As I sat there, pouring my efforts into the exam, I was abruptly interrupted and rushed out the door, before my time was due to expire. The reason? The proctor, tasked with ensuring the smooth facilitation of the test, abruptly abandoned their post, citing a personal emergency that demanded their immediate attention. At first he said it was the school that would cut off the testing time and that the high school (which the testing center is located) would cut off the electricity to the testing room. I stayed for an additional 30 minutes at the school waiting for my ride to pick me up with my tail between my legs as I felt defeated and the electricity wasn't cut off at all as the whole school and testing room was powered till I left 30 minutes later. In that moment, I felt a profound sense of abandonment and betrayal. It's difficult to articulate the depth of despair that washed over me as I realized that my educational aspirations were being sacrificed at the altar for someone else's personal matter. The years of painstaking effort I invested in overcoming my test anxiety were callously disregarded, leaving me feeling utterly demoralized and broken. This experience has left an indelible mark on my psyche, amplifying my test anxiety to unprecedented levels. I now find myself questioning whether I possess the strength and resilience to muster another attempt. The prospect of returning to that testing center fills me with dread and trepidation. He kept hovering over me over the last hour of the exam which me feel uneasy and anxious and at some point kept telling me I don't have enough time even though I had 30 minutes left on my timer on the screen. I told him I had 30 minutes left and he said" I don't know what to tell you, I need to leave" and "the electricity is going to be cut off" the lack of respect to someone's hard efforts and time invested in learning is appalling. After he kicked me out he kept saying "I'll pay for your retest" and "hey, if you passed would you actually retake the test?" Quickly showing his lack of interest in even paying for the retest. I make more than enough money in a year to pay for my retest, it isn't about the money it's about the principle and courage it takes to show up after years of defeat in not completing my high school diploma. I implore the management of the testing center to reflect deeply on the ramifications of their actions. The trauma inflicted upon me, a hopeful test-taker, cannot be overstated. It is my fervent hope that they take concrete steps to ensure that no other individual is subjected to such callous disregard for their educational pursuits. They have already cancelled one of tests the day before I was supposed to take it and didn't even bother reaching out to me to see how they could compensate for their cancellation. Then this happened today. Regrettably, I am compelled to assign a single star to an experience that left me feeling abandoned, traumatized, and utterly defeated."I wish there was a zero stars! Horrible place. I will reach out to the GED website and as many entities involved in the testing process to express my frustration. Please take your test elsewhere DO NOT TAKE YOUR TEST HERE. Do not test at TLAB During the test the man was having full blown conversations which all the test takers would hear. We all huffed and puffed as we sat in frustration because we could not focus . He was laughing and conversing away with no respect to us the test takers. I will update this post and let you know what measures where taken to fix this unfortunate event that conspired today. I am highly and sincerely disappointed in you TLAB and I am yet to even receive my results adding in the agonizing trauma and anxiety bestowed upon me for trying to be a better person and acquire my diploma.
