Being her first foray into schools, our daughter started off tentative, was just barely potty trained and had never been left alone in a social class environment before. She was also somewhat of a picky eater. She was never in daycare prior to this. On her first day it was an ocean of tears when we left her there (and buckets of tears for the first two whole weeks). But the teachers there - Misses Claire, Heather and Anne - we're always on the ball and have her the attention and distractions she needed. She started to getting used to the whole school thing. Fast forward to the June of the following year. Our daughter has blossomed into a different child. She's good with mist foods now, extremely social with other kids at parties and etc, has learned how to write and paint and color, goes to and from the bathroom all by herself and enjoys every single day at school. The results were nothing short of amazing. And it's a testament to the care and attention the Learning Tree gives all the kids under their care. We highly recommend them as a daycare center and a preschool alternative for your children. Enrollment and space are limited, and it's on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for and it's a rock solid pre school experience. Thank you very much, Learning Tree!

I went to Huntington Learning Center about two years ago, right before my junior year of high…read moreschool began, to take advantage of the PSAT/SAT test prep that was offered there. Two years later, as someone who is about to embark on her journey through college, I can say with great confidence that the path I am about to take is in large part thanks to the lessons I learned at Huntington. Earlier this year I was named a National Merit Finalist, and in order to receive that title, the first step is to do well on the PSAT. In preparation for this test, I recieved a lot of personalized tutoring that pinpointed both my strengths and weaknesses, and then aimed to hone those strengths while working hard to make me more comfortable with tackling my weaknesses. The test-taking skills I learned, and the methods that were used to teach them, were very effective in my opinion, seeing as I scored a 229 (out of a maximum 240) on the PSAT. However, it is important to realize that if you want to do well at Huntington, and later on succeed in school and on any test you take, it is ultimately up to you and how hard you are willing to work. Motivation to succeed is a key part of achieving success; this is also something I realized thanks to Dr. Pan, who runs Huntington. He also gave me a lot of good advice concerning college and what to expect in the application process, and I won't doubt he will do the same for anyone who stops by his office with similar questions! Overall, I highly recommend Huntington Learning Center for anyone who needs that extra push in preparing for a standardized test. It does not matter if you're already a smart student or if you feel that you need some work; Huntington will cater to your needs and will help you get the score you desire.

Christine and Adam have been tutoring the 2nd grader for almost 3 years for reading, writing and math. In the middle of 2nd grade, he was reading and writing above grade level. I thought we could quit Sylvan...20-20 hindsight...BIG MISTAKE! We had failed 4 subjects in 4th grade. 3rd grade...Adam said if he were in public school, he would have had a early intervention and a computer to help him with writing (He has very hard to read handwriting, and it takes him forever to write.) At the end of 3rd grade, I asked the school if he could bring a laptop from home. They said we should wait until the beginning of 4th grade and see what the teacher thinks. Well...it's the beginning of 4th grade, we had a meeting with his teacher and support team, and he MAY get to use a computer this year ;) I think, if he can use a computer, he MAY GET HONOR ROLL by the final grade period!! He is so excited!

Per usual, they are sugar sweet when showing me the school before I decided whether we'd enroll. I say "per usual" because I've seen this with the other preschool my daughter attended. Once enrolled and paying, they barely make eye contact with you and today I was approached by Mary Beth (assistant director) with "Hey, do you know you are a week late with tuition?" No first name, and rudely addressed in front of other people. Apparently my check I payed two weeks earlier (my daughter attends two day/week) was mostly just a deposit, which was also not explained to me. I apologized and said I'd bring in check when I came to pick up my daughter. Meanwhile, I had promised my daughter (as I always do now) to go to her window and blow her a kiss goodbye...this in exchange for her to be a "big girl" and not cry when I leave, which she often does. I was so embarrassed/offended on my way out that I forgot to go to her window. Talk about breaking my heart (and my daughter's) as I drove home remembering I'd forgotten the blown kiss! I had my daughter at Goodison in Rochester for a couple of years and the staff was wonderful. Caring and personable toward the children AND parents, so I'm not naive about how a great preschool should be run. It's a shame once the management has "reeled you in with tuition checks" they choose to be uncaring and insincere-- very unprofessional. I'll keep her here because her daily involvement is really with her teacher (Ms. Bethany, a real sweetheart) and teacher assistants, who are the opposite of the directors, warm and caring.
