In fact, they were actually referring to this Thai restaurant that also offers Asian 'tapas'. I think the tapas is actually just the appetiser section of a normal menu, but regardless, the food was superb. I'm a big lover of Thai food and I wasn't let down here. I had fish cakes and a laksa (Malaysian soup), both of which left me feeling very happy. They have a separate lunchtime menu, additionally, they also offer a discount of 10% on all take away orders (collection).

I can honestly say this restaurant shares (with one other establishment in London) the accolade of serving the absolute best Thai food in the UK - and beating most of that in Thailand too. The flavours are all authentic and perfectly balanced, the portions are large without being over the top, and the service is great. Prices are reasonable, no more than standard restaurant prices. The building itself is pretty small, so you can expect to be cosied up to people a bit, but there is nothing wrong with that for me. My only complaint is that they didn't notice when I attempted to speak Thai a few times, although this is probably a good thing.

The main waiter is Thai, but is also a student at Brighton University, and willing to take photos of birthday celebrations. He also brings out little presents - a chocolate bombe, a special pair of chopsticks, and so on. Its very sweet. Its a very central restaurant, and pretty reasonable too - two courses and wine came to about £16 each. We'll be going again soon.
