We split a braised beef and a mushroom gnocchi and found them to be a wonderful balance. The braised beef was recommended from our table neighbors and did not disappoint. The sprouts add a pop of freshness to pasta dishes that, somehow, do not make you leave feeling heavy. Topped off a lovely dinner with an espresso-tini for dessert. Yum.

The service was very friendly, and the food came out promptly. The small Italian chop salad ($8) was ordered to start the meal. It came with brick cheese, pepperoncini, sweety drop peppers, croutons, parm, and an Italian vinaigrette. This was very good and fresh. There was enough of all the ingredients, and they mixed well with one another. It was lightly dressed too. For dinner, two pastas were split, the pesto ($16) and scallop ($21). The pesto had creste di Gallo pasta with toasted pistachio, basil, and parm. The pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente, but the pesto sauce itself seemed to be missing something. Everything was definitely fresh and the crushed pistachios were a nice touch, but it just seemed to lack something. The scallop had gnocchetti, roasted corn, marinated tomato, white wine sauce, dill, and sunflower sprouts. This was top notch. The sauce was very flavorful, and again the pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente. The fresh corn and tomatoes just enhanced the spectacular white wine sauce. Will I go back? Easily.

The service was friendly, and the menu had lots of fresh and intriguing choices. For a starter, the tempura fried garlic scapes ($12) were ordered. They came with a maple and fermented Fresno chili hot sauce. The tempura batter was tasty. The scrapes were very long so a knife was definitely needed. The hot sauce was a nice addition, and I was hoping for more of it, or for it to be given on the side. Now that I think about it, I should have just asked for more, bad job. For the main dish, the grain bowl ($19) and chicken torta ($19) was split. The grain bowl had brown rice, spelt, millet, chickpeas, lemon-tahini dressing, pickled vegetables, carrot, kohlrabi, feta, and a pomegranate molasses. This was very light and extremely fresh. All of the flavors mixed well with one another. The torta had a chicken guisado, lime-cilantro slaw, pickled onion, and jalapeno on a telera roll with a side salad. The salad was basically just mixed greens, no issue there. Again, this appeared extremely light, especially the soft roll. The chicken was flavored well and tender while the pickled onion and jalapeno gave a little crisp. The jalapenos also provided a slight kick. Will I go back? No doubt.

Super cozy inside, I feel like I'm at home. The store has everything anyone needs; fresh meat & cheeses, olives, spices, pizza flour, dough, cookies, wine, desserts, take and bake pizzas, lasagna, pot pies, and so much more. We ordered one of the many delicious sandwiches on the menu. I chose the Chimp Boy Gravel Pants. Roasted turkey, sundried tomatoes, pesto, blue cheese, provolone, Italian dressing, stuffed in a ciabatta sub- AMAZING. That will be forever in my heart. Made with love. I wish I could've wrapped that shop up, put it in my pocket and brought it back to my hometown. I will definitely stop there each and every time I visit TC!
