    Philbert Burger - Single
    Erin O.

If you've had Shake Shack before, then you can essentially say you know what Hunger Burger tastes like. This little burger shop is nestled in the chaos of Reading Terminal Market, conveniently next to a small dining area. I ordered from here on a whim and decided to get the Philbert with some fries. Within a few minutes, my food was ready! The burger is tasty but because the patties are more of a smash burger style, the toppings go a longer way. A single patty is a bit small so I'd probably get a double if I was feeling hungry. The fries were very plentiful though and were perfectly crispy. They didn't automatically give me ketchup with my order, so I had to go up to the counter to get some packets. Overall, this was a satisfying quick bite to eat.

The mac and cheese bacon burger and fries were so good. I will need to put in a few days at the gym but it was worth it.

I recently tried the chicken breast sandwich for lunch and I liked the size of the sandwich but the taste wasn't quite to my liking. This review is more so a reminder not to order this sandwich again. I love the fish sandwich but it's not filling. I had their burger years ago and enjoyed them then but I'm limited in my red meat intake but plan to try one of their burgers again soon.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I definitely would. Located inside the Reading Terminal Market, Hunger Burger has the perfect burger. It's tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. The employees are very nice and super thoughtful. Since it was my first time, they gave me a breakdown of the entire menu, which helped me decide on picking the Mac & Cheese Burger. I won't lie, this is my dream burger. I usually make this at home, so to find it here was a match made in heaven. The mac and cheese was creamy and did not overpower the burger. The combination delivered a mouthwatering blend of cheesy goodness and juicy, savory perfection I totally recommend this place. Whenever I return to Philly, this will be the first place I go to.

We were in Phiy for a wedding and naturally we had to stop at the Reading Terminal Market! There are so many options in this market, its super hard to choose! But if youre in the mood for burgers, HB is the place to go! Their burgers are DELICIOUS! Their special sauce is amazing! I got the single with Bacon and my boyfriend got one with an egg and it was out of this world!! We also got the fries with the cheese and bacon, wow!! I definetly recommend this place when visiting this market!

They have the best variety of mac and cheese.

I know it is a burger place and they offered a fantastic menu. Unfortunately, we really didn't have a lot of time and this place was busy. Actually it was like a mad house. We wanted something quick and easy. Their Mac and cheeses looked amazing and that really caught my eye and it was a no brainer for me. They had a large fresh looking selection. Lobster, Crab or regular Mac and cheese. We went for the regular. It was creamy, not overly cheesy. You know how sometimes mac and cheese can be heavy and it can sit in your stomach like a rock. Not this mac and cheese it really just hit the spot. It was so good that we tried to go back the next day. They are located in a very large food hall reading terminal market. I was surprised that they were closed on Sundays. The food hall was ridiculously busy. The next time we are in the area we are definitely coming back. Maybe I will order a burger too :-)

A popular eatery in the Reading Terminal Market. Service was friendly. Prices are reasonable considering the portions. Made to order. Everything was delicious! Scallop Potatoes: potatoes were soft, cheezy and creamy Fish Sandwich: huge portion, thick, flaky and crispy Burger: meaty and flavorful Crab mac&cheese: ooey-gooey cheeziness and big chunks of crab Breakfast Bowl: all of your favorites sauteed into a cheesy bowl- absolutely yummy

Tried the Philbert Burger at Hunger Burger in the Reading Terminal Market. It's a SmashBurger and it was awesome! Service was friendly, place was busy and the food was served hot and fresh. The Philbert is basically a bacon cheese burger. I added fried onions and mustard, along with the ketchup and mayo that is part of the burger.

The vibe: Slow, but friendly service. The guy at the register helped answer our questions & suggested we try the loaded fries since it's our first time trying them out. The fries: Ordered the loaded chicken bacon ranch fries & when they say loaded they mean it! Generous portion & enough to be an entree for 1-2 people depending on how hungry you are. Plenty of toppings, well seasoned, & the ranch sauce was a winner vs their homemade HB sauce (ketchup, mayo). Our only recommendation would be swap the HB sauce for BBQ sauce & more cheese sauce. Other than that, highly recommend!

Great burger, okay fries, little pricey even for the location. Given the market location I understand a price premium but found the price a little high even for that. The food was good though, except the fries which were slightly below average. Service was friendly and quick enough.

I really enjoyed my first stop here for lunch during a conference, so I went back the next day. I got a bello burger both days as I don't eat meat so can't speak to their regular burgers, but this was excellent. The mushroom was breaded and crispy and the toppings were a delicious addition. Honestly could have eaten two burgers both times. First day I tried their regular mac. Overall really enjoyed, good level of creaminess, perhaps could have just used a little more in the way of seasoning. Second day I tried the Caesar salad. The dressing is really thick and wasn't my favorite but I did love the croutons. People working there were friendly. Line was long but moved relatively quickly. It's hard to find a spot to eat here if it's during a busy time so I took it back to the conference with me, but it is right next to a big area of tables if you want to try to sit down. I'd definitely go back and get another bello burger and try some new sides!

I didn't have a high expectation here. I stopped here because I was indecisive and this had a shorter line than other. However, I am glad everything aligned correctly that I ended up here. I got the a Fun Guy Burger and a small Mediterranean Salad. The burger hit the spot. It was sooooo good. I got it without the HB sauce. The grilled mushrooms and onions made the burger extra special. The Mediterranean Salad was fresh and not over dressed. Glad I decided to get lunch here today. Overall- A+.

So when my wife said she wanted a little something while we wandered through a heatwave in Philadelphia, I thought this would be a safe harbor. It was not. We ordered cheese fries and a banana pudding milkshake. The fries arrived looking as if they had been cooked last Tuesday and kept under a damp towel since. The cheese was cold and had formed a sort of yellow skin. It reminded me of school cafeteria food, but with better marketing. The shake was okay. The banana flavor was nice enough. But the Vanilla Wafer Cookie Crumble inside was too ambitious for a straw. Every third sip turned into a game of suction-based roulette. You could pay fifty cents extra for rainbow sprinkles to support GLAAD. That was a good idea I could get behind. The execution, like the fries, was half-hearted. It felt more like an upsell than a cause. The worst part was the store itself. We had planned to sit inside for a few minutes. Restore our core temperatures to something in the double-digits. Regain a little hope. But the tables looked like they had not been cleaned since lunchtime and the floor was trying to become one with the food. We took our sad little snack and walked back to the hotel. Two stars. One for the idea of Shake Shack. One for the milkshake trying its best. That is all.

I had a hankering for chicken and waffles today and I could've gone to a number of restaurants in…read morethe area for this, but today I decided to try my one go-to place for the best chicken sandwiches in town: Hangry Joe's. I've seen the chicken and waffles on their menu many times and was always hesitant on ordering it only because I didn't want to feel disappointment and possible regret for not ordering one of their well-known, delicious options of chicken sandwich (the Sando) or chicken fingers. I don't know why I was so afraid to order it other than thinking the waffle wouldn't be that good, but I was so very wrong. Their chicken and waffles are great! Let's start with the chicken... fried to perfection and slightly lathered in your choice of mild to spicy sauce, these chicken tenders are simply amazing... and huge. Bite into a chicken tender and juices shoot out of it. That's how juicy they are. The waffle (divided into quarters) was so good. Lightly crisped and dusted with powdered sugar on the outside and a beautiful soft texture inside, this is a great waffle. You get syrup for the waffle and your choice of sauce for the chicken. All for $12.95. So good! Other options include a Korean chicken nugget combo that includes steamed white rice and fries, chicken wraps, and wings. Service is pretty quick. I ordered to go ("ASAP - 10 mins") and the order was ready in 14, but please don't fault them for this. Once you taste the chicken, you will forgive them for any tardiness.

The colorful, cartoonish decor of the restaurant's interior put me off a little at first. The brightly colored, chicken-themed cartoons on the walls seemed to me like it was geared for kids. It is most certainly not. Hangry Joe's is made for chicken lovers. The choices on the menu were all tempting. Every dish on the menu features chicken as a comfort food, and I am all about it. I ordered the Chicken Sando, which was both huge and delicious. My pal got the chicken wings, which he said were the best he ever ate. (He specifically raved about the dipping sauce.) Now I want wings! There are five levels of heat for your chicken, from mild to smokin hot, and so everybody, even those afraid of heat, will find something to their liking on the menu. The service was good, and though the prices are a bit on the high side for fast food (we paid about $30 for two meals.), the amazing chicken and accompanying flavors make a trip here well worth it. In fact, in the two days since I tried Hangry's, three friends from NY who had tried it during their stay here over the weekend made an stop there before heading home to bring home some more of that chicken. Now that's good chicken!

There is a hot sauce bar, which isn't really advertised, but you can take a bottle back to your table for seasoning. We ordered the (1) pollo (chicken) tinga, (2) carnitas, and (3) vegetarian (mushroom) tacos for the $1.33/taco Taco Tuesday deal (minimum of 3 tacos per type required). From the Happy Hour $5 menu, we ordered the (1) chorizo quesadilla, (2) classic house margaritas, and (3) churros. When we added a hot sauce from the sauce bar to these, we enjoyed them more. Otherwise, we'd pass. -The carnitas tacos were delicious!
