Everything was great. All the meals were good. The people that work there are great people. Would love to go back again

If you are staying in the Bridgeport/Mammoth area, you seriously should book a horseback riding…read moretour with this place. You'll be riding a horse in areas your car won't take you, with views that'll take your breath away. Here is my story. This year is 2020, my milestone year. As you know, the world has been shutdown. However, we can go outdoors and that's just what I did for my birthday weekend. We found lodging in Bridgeport and wanted some fun things to do during our stay. I love horses and asked my husband if we could go horseback riding? It was his first time ever going on a horse, he said okay! Tip*: Finding this place is a slight challenge without directions. Our GPS unit didn't register the address. And we were stupid for not printing out directions before leaving home. We noticed the day before while driving to Lee Vining, that the Virginia Lake Road was on the right side of the highway after passing Bodie. We took the Virginia road down for like 10 minutes, saw the sign for the horseback riding (right side), which is a dirt road. Take the first left on that dirt road, it's the place. My husband wasn't sure and thought it was someone's home and kept driving....don't do that. We figured it out and made it to our tour. The property is big. They have bathrooms you can use. Tables outside if you want to snack after your ride. Lots of horses. Helmets to wear. They supplied us with a sac to hold our camera and water bottle. Our guide was a special guest, her name is Ivonna. I fell in love with her immediately. Her and her beautiful dog guided us along the trails for the 1.5 hour tour. They provided my husband with a sweet horse (Hemmy), since it was his first time riding. I had the handsome Casper, he too was a gentle spirit. We are considering the longer tour next time we are in the area. Tip**: Bring water with you, sunblock, long sleeved lightweight shirt, wear shoes, jeans not shorts. Snacks for after the ride. Almost forgot, bring a small camera to capture this special moment. And last of all, leave your troubles behind and enjoy this time on a horse in the mountains.

WOW! Amazing day :) My 13-year-old son and I went on the four-hour ride this morning to the ridge…read more The weather was beautiful and our guide, Alma, was DARling!! The horses were big gentle giants...This was only the 3rd time either one of us had ridden and we both agree we will be going back....I feel like they can handle everything from complete beginners to experienced riders. Anyways, what a great way to see some of the most beautiful country in the world! They are reasonably priced and genuinely nice folks!! A memory I will treasure :) Thank you Alma and Wyatt!!

TLDR: Disappointing Experience - Unengaged and Unhelpful Wrangler…read more We were optimistic about our 4 PM Red Mountain ride, but unfortunately, our wrangler fell far short of expectations and made for an uncomfortable, even stressful, experience. From the start, she seemed impatient and uninterested--perhaps because we were the last group of the day. Our group of four included two children; I clarified that we were all beginners. Despite that, my nine-year-old daughter was assigned Dino, a horse someone in the previous group had asked, "Dino is not going out again today, is he?" He consistently misbehaved and was difficult to control for inexperienced riders. Rather than explaining how to handle Dino or offering coaching to my daughter, the wrangler simply took the lead rope away from her, making my daughter feel embarrassed and even more unsure of herself. The most concerning incident happened just ten minutes into the ride. The last horse broke away and bolted onto a busy road. Instead of communicating clearly and giving instructions, the wrangler immediately abandoned our group to chase the runaway horse, leaving the entire group confused and unsupervised as our horses started to follow the chaos toward the road. I had to yell instructions to my daughters myself to keep them safe, as the wrangler provided no guidance or reassurance in what could have become a dangerous situation. Throughout the ride, the wrangler maintained an unfriendly, silent demeanor. She rarely checked on us and barked unclear instructions from the front of the line, which were nearly impossible to hear. When my daughter started to slide sideways on her saddle, the wrangler never stopped to see if the stirrups needed adjusting, simply shouting at us instead. After the horse bolted, I chose to ride at the rear to ensure my daughters were okay and give them basic instructions, which the wrangler should have provided. When Dino became aggressive and tried to bite my horse, the wrangler moved my daughter to the back of the line. Because of Dino's nature, she constantly lagged far behind. Despite the risk of being separated or left unattended on rocky trails, the wrangler barely stopped or looked back to check on her. Finally, one of the main draws of a guided ride is supposed to be the scenery and the guide's insights. Our wrangler gave us no information and didn't once stop to highlight the landscape or share anything about the area. Even the other group members looked frustrated by her lack of engagement and support. I have been on numerous guided horseback rides over the years, and this was hands down the worst guiding I've ever experienced. The wrangler was inattentive, unhelpful, and uninterested, risking our safety, comfort, and enjoyment. Based on our guide, I cannot recommend this experience. .

I had a camping trip to Yosemite National Park planned in September and knew I wanted to propose to my Fiancé while on the trip and didn't know exactly how I would plan this. We are avid outdoor/hikers and love horses. When I found Yosemite Trails Horseback Adventures, I knew that this was the PERFECT place for me to propose to the love of my life. I wasn't quite sure how the proposal would go down to begin with, but Cami and the entire team made the experience unbelievable. I felt like part of the family and cannot thank them enough. They scouted out various different locations along the route for the spot prior to my arrival and communicated with me every step of the way. Jolene found the location on the trail, and was our guide. We did a private trial ride as I wanted the experience to be intimate. Jolene was INCREDIBLE and we cannot thank her enough. She was an expert guide and made the entire experience a memory we will never forget. Jolene took pictures for us and planned the entire proposal location, she was fantastic in every regard. The horses were beautiful and looked extremely well taken care off and loved. The trail ride itself was the best we have been on, and we have done quite a few. It was beautiful, fun going through the creeks and riding up/down the mountainsides. We cannot thank Cami, Jolene and the entire Yosemite Trails Horseback Adventure Team for the memory and experience of a lifetime, and we cannot wait to do it again!
