Shopping in area decided to stop by for lunch. First, let me say the exterior of Hunan is not the best, it looks pretty dated. I was determined to give it a chance. When you enter the interior is the same as exterior but very clean beyond being dated. The place was empty, in fact the owners were eating and got right up to help us. They seemed very friendly and welcoming, even helping us with selections. We ordered sweet and sour chicken $3.99 and sweet, spicy beef $5.39 and it was so good and so much food, also mini egg rolls $1.39. See pics. Overall great customer service, great quality and quantity, price. Win, win!!!

Cash only, drive thru only spot that is soooooo good and very inexpensive. We got beef broccoli, general tso's, moo goo gai pan, steam rice, fried rice, lo mein, 5 eggs rolls, and egg drop soup for only $27.

Skeptical about egg drop at first, soup knocked my socks off me! Entire dinner is amazing! Will definitely go back again!

Shrimp with Veggies white rice doused in soy sauce (they have the good kind) the white drink container was full with egg drop soup

The food is the best in town and it's cheaper than other places. It's important to remember they only take cash.

FYI I called at 3:30pm and asked if I needed a reservation at 5:30, I was told it's based on first come first served. Well at 5:30 there was a line outside and it was packed. You can pay way more for a steak and believe you got a better steak because you paid more for it. However its not true. They serve prime on some of their steaks called Blue Ribbon. I have to say. If you want the ultimate in excellence of service. Ask to be seated in Charles, or Rodneys sections. Especially Charles. Ive not seen the like of a waiter with his grace and charm. He is a Pro and you'll be glad he waited on you. Rodney is a man who's image you'll picture in the Williams/ Sonoma store of the butler. He's a great loveable guy who does write your order down and always gets it right. Love them both. Cattlemens has an entire staff of highly train wait Pros. The foods are exceptional. The Signature Salad Dressings are fabulous. I eat here often and any night of the week. The dining room section is quaint, cozy and warm. The café side is full of the same quality wait staff and great foods but the noise level is a bit brighter and a more mixed group of diners. Its also where the whole restaurant began. Won in a Poker game rolling a hard 6 which is two 3s. It has become a legend. Its rated number 5 or 6 at all times in the TOP 50 Steak Houses in America. That my friends is something you dont just get for a rating. You work for and earn it. Its an experience you'll never forget and foods you'll want to come back for time after time.

We tried their version of a salmon sushi roll, it wasn't bad. Rice was fried. Our steaks were so flavorful and tender! We decided to try the onion rings and green chili cream corn as our sides. I wished the corn was a little sweet. Onion rings were good but not the best I've had. Old fashioned cocktail was on point though! They delivered an anniversary multi-layered red velvet cake. Pretty tasty. I would definitely return and order the same steaks just with different sides.

Our waiter was attentive and did a great job of explaining the menu, etc. I did feel he was subtly upselling simultaneously but it wasn't overkill. We started with the shrimp cocktail and it was a good size with very large shrimp. The horseradish was strong! One of my party took a big old scoop the first time, and it was quite entertaining. We all had the filet and it was one of the best filets I've had. Probably in my top 5, maybe even top 3. It was very tender and seasoned well. They put so much butter on it that your plate has a layer-I wishes that wasn't so much. For sides we had mushrooms, Brussels and a gratin potatoes. The mushrooms were really good. The Brussels were fried and just too greasy for me. Though the sauce on them appeared to be tasty. I didn't try the potatoes but I was told they were really good. For dessert we had the Mahogany cheesecake. This was pretty amazing! It's essentially their cheesecake with a crust (think creme brûlée top) around the whole thing. With some whip cream, chocolate sauce and some boozy berries. Pretty. Damn. Good. If I lived local, this would be my go to for a steak. If you're in town or local, go get some. You won't be disappointed.

The food was outstanding--especially the crab cake on the steak and cake, which had a wonderful lemony sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. They had fun, enjoyed the show, and left happy... and honestly, that's what mattered most. That said, as someone who has been to many hibachi restaurants over the years, this experience was a bit of a mixed grill. We made reservations (which ended up not being necessary since lunch was not busy--definitely a plus) and were seated quickly at the grill. Our waiter was attentive throughout the meal, keeping drinks refilled and checking in regularly. Appetizers ordered: Edamame, Calamari, Takoyaki, and Tobiko sushi. * The edamame was spot on. * The takoyaki (fried octopus balls with sauce, mayo, and bonito flakes) was a pleasant surprise and very good. * The calamari came out greasy and overcooked, though the flavor itself was decent. * The Tobiko sushi? Let's just say the crunchy, salty pop of flying fish roe wasn't a hit with anyone except me. Everything arrived piping hot, which is good--but definitely required caution when eating. For soup and salad, everyone chose the soup while I went with the salad. The salad was underwhelming--just iceberg lettuce and dressing. I sampled the soup and found it hot, but the flavor seemed off and not to my liking. The biggest issue was timing. Despite being the only hibachi group seated, there was a long delay--well over 15 minutes--between appetizers and the chef arriving at the grill. Thankfully, we had plenty of appetizers to bridge the gap. When the chef did arrive, the presentation was fun and energetic. Our grandsons loved it, and that's the key takeaway. While the performance didn't wow me personally, the kids were fully entertained, and all entrées were cooked to everyone's liking. One small disappointment: most hibachi places do something special for birthday guests, but there was no acknowledgment here. Not a deal-breaker--especially with Pie Junkie just up the street--but worth mentioning. A few final notes: * Salt & pepper shakers and soy sauce bottles appeared sticky, as if not wiped down between seatings. * My wife mentioned the restroom was not clean--the floor felt sticky, and it was a shared restroom for men and women, which could use more attention. Bottom line: This was a mixed experience--some good, some not so good. Personally, I wouldn't return, having experienced stronger hibachi restaurants elsewhere. However, our grandson left smiling, and we were able to give them the birthday experience they wanted--and that made it worthwhile. Three stars feels fair.
