I cannot say enough wonderful things about Aspetuck Animal Hospital and the incredible team that…read morehas cared for my beautiful 3 1/2-year-old German Shepherd, Fritz. Fritz was bitten by my neighbor's loose dog, and since June 29, the veterinarians at Aspetuck have seen him multiple times while treating a bacterial infection. Toward the end of September, Fritz began bleeding, which understandably caused me tremendous worry and stress. Dr. Mike, an outstanding veterinarian, carefully examined Fritz and recommended neutering him to address the bleeding. Although I initially did not fully understand the reasoning behind the treatment plan, I trusted Dr. Mike's medical expertise and scheduled the surgery for October 22. In the meantime, Fritz was receiving antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medication, and pain medication. I became increasingly concerned because Fritz's bleeding had worsened, I called the office. Ashley, who works at the front desk, was wonderful about getting back to me. What happened next truly demonstrated the extraordinary dedication of this veterinary team: Dr. Mike came in on his day off and performed Fritz's surgery a full week earlier than scheduled, with Dr. Tabby assisting! That level of compassion and commitment is something I will never forget. I am in awe. As a devoted dog owner, worrying about Fritz's health has been overwhelming. Knowing he is in such capable, caring hands has given me tremendous peace of mind. I am thrilled to share that Fritz is no longer bleeding! I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Tabby, Dr. Trish, and especially Dr. Mike for their compassion, medical expertise, and unwavering dedication to their patients. I also want to thank Ashley and the entire staff for supporting me emotionally and financially throughout this difficult experience. It is clear that the team at Aspetuck understands that pets are family. They treat their patients and the people who love them with kindness and respect. Dr. Mike, your willingness to come in on your day off speaks volumes about the kind of veterinarian you are. You went above and beyond, and I am forever grateful. If you are looking for a veterinary hospital where your pet will receive exceptional medical care and genuine compassion from a team that truly cares, I wholeheartedly recommend Aspetuck Animal Hospital. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my boy, Fritz. You have earned my trust, gratitude, and highest recommendation. I hope this review helps you make a phone call.

I have deep remorse for bringing Breeze to Aspetuck on 4/8/2026 for what should have been a simple…read moreear check. Breeze was our little girl and so very precious in every way, she loved everyone and enjoyed life. A very healthy 13 year old 17.8 lb West Highland Terrier, the visit was billed as urgent care, which it was absolutely not. That appointment led to a full exam, where the vet noted four loose front teeth. We were already aware of them, and they had never caused Breeze any issues. She ate normally, had no bad breath, daily dental treats, dogbiotics and teeth brushing. Despite this, Dr.Michael Gorra strongly encouraged us to schedule a dental cleaning and extraction, insisting it would prolong her life and warning us it would be dangerous if she swallowed a tooth. This was misleading and, in hindsight not true. Breeze life was not prolonged. Breeze blood work showed elevated Lyme levels, and on 4/11/26 she was given a Convenia antibiotic injection. I expressed concern about her age and the upcoming dental procedure, but I was assured she would be fine. 4/22/26 would be the last day for Breeze to enjoy her every day routine, that including her dental treats, after this date only smooth food, she used to love to eat. On 4/23/26 Breeze's life changed forever. What was supposed to be a simple dental cleaning and four tooth extractions turned into TWELVE teeth removed, without my permission. The invoice included charges for each additional extractions, and IV catheter, premedication, anesthesia, meloxciam, additional anesthesia, propofal, more antibiotics, complex extraction, basic extractions, pain management injection. She had dissolvable sutures, then more antibiotics and pain medication at discharge, along with the invoice that was to be paid upon picking up Breeze. It absolutely breaks my heart that Breeze endured this whole process, only to have her life cut short. We would have done everything possible to prolong her life. I know the side effects of antibiotics. I believe anesthesia and the pharmaceuticals puts a strain on some older dogs and feel 100% that Breeze was too old to endure such an extensive procedure and that if I had not agreed to it, she would still be with us. Breeze passed suddenly within three weeks. The void she has left us is devastating. I would have expected Aspetuck to credit my account, given the misrepresentation that this procedure would prolong her life and the fact that I was paying for a dog who is no longer alive. Aspetuck refused and demanded full payment for every invoice. it is devastating, heartbreaking and feel profoundly wrong. Breeze was our third Westie from the same breeder. Our other two lived to 161/2 and 17 years old. A dental surgeon later told me that in his opinion that dogs over 10 years old should not undergo dental surgery, because it is too taxing on their system. His small senior dog had a similar experience and passed shortly after dental extractions. So sad. My advice: do your research and look for a practice that hasn't sold out to a corporation. Breeze is missed beyond words. The void she left is enormous and I'm so very sorry that she went through all of this procedure only to die within 3 weeks post this surgery. No prolonged life for Breezey. Kathy M Litchfield, CT 06759

Our regular vet treated her for "colitis" but admitted that she did not know what else to do and referred us to a 24h clinic for further diagnosis and IV treatment Pearl was discharged from the clinic the next day with prescriptions for six different drugs, while her symptoms kept worsening. After one week of force-food and medications down her throat we decided to put her to sleep in the comfort of our home, which Dr.Krier offered to do. However, before proceeding with the euthanasia, Dr. Krier asked us the permission to examine the dog and to review her medical record. She took it upon herself to talk to the Emergency clinic doctor and discovered that although the clinic tested Pearl negative for Lyme disease, they had not tested her for Anaplasmosis, which is another, very similar, tick borne decease that affects older dogs. Dr Keil took another blood sample and called us the next day that her hunch was correct and the test was positive. Dr. Krier immediately gave Pearl a prescription for antibiotics and immediately showed a good response to the medication. Two weeks later our dog is eating , barking, licking our face and acting normal and out son has renamed Dr, Krier as "Dr. Miracle". She not only quickly and correctly diagnosed the dog 's symptoms, when other vets did not, but also treated us with compassion and provided incredible service. She has followed Pearl's recovery at every strep around the clock by phone and email even on Sunday! I never met such a caring , knowledgeable vet and I am so thankful that she gave our dog another breath of life ! Sadly, the same week that she saved our dog, she had to put her own to sleep but never let her sadness impact caring for other patients. I would recommend Dr. Krier to anybody looking for a compassionate, incredibly perceptive and experienced veterinarian who intuitively understands both animals and owners and can ressurect a dog on his death bed !

She has helped two of them cross over the rainbow bridge, and knowing that their last moments were full of peace and calm in the comfort of their own home means so much and has really helped with my grieving.
