Hummus and Friends is a very cozy spot with chill music and nice interior. If you are looking for a place to eat and have a great conversation for business or a date - this is your spot! There are lots of options, mostly vegan! The price is a bit high due to the location. What we liked in terms of taste: - Cauliflower (was amazing) with tahini sauce. Perfectly roasted and not greasy at all. (4.50€ half and 7.90€ Full cauliflower) - Cocktailtomaten and bulgur (4.20€) also great! - Roasted potatoes and sweet potatoes: perfectly roasted! And not too greasy and oily. Hummus wise - it was surprisingly just ok. We had Hummus Avocado which didn't had the full creamy avocado taste that you might expect. Hummus chickpeas, super creamy but taste wise also ok. The best one we liked in terms of hummus was the sundried tomatoes hummus for 9.80€. The israelischer Salat is refreshing but nothing special. Overall - great spot to meet people. Taste wise it's ok! Price wise it's slightly overpriced. The service was not the best and price value ratio could be better! Overall ok place!

Hummus and chickpeas, comes served with fresh pita bread

Our tour guide told us if we came to Berlin to eat German food, try Israeli food instead, and recommended this place to us. Originally skeptical of a restaurant that only served hummus, we were amazed at how good the food was. The ground chickpea part of the hummus was spread around the sides of the bowl, with oil and your ingredients of choice filling it. I had the chickpea version, which has chickpeas and onions and tahini sauce. It is served with fresh-out-of-the-oven pita bread. Amazing. The wine selection is also relatively extensive, and even includes several varieties of kosher wines. It was pretty affordable, and made for a good dinner - I was completely stuffed but then again I got a second pita bread to finish out every last bit of the hummus. I'd definitely recommend, especially if you are staying at one of the nearby hostels.

Delicious. Nearly adjacent to the beautiful partially restored (as a museum) New Synagogue, this is a great place to have lunch or dinner. Hummus & Friends serves kosher Israeli food in a casual, lounge-like atmosphere. They were understaffed the day we came but the service was very eager to please and there was hardly any wait for the food and drink. The food was as good as any you'll find in NYC or Tel Aviv. I would even say it's the best hummus I've had. Nice and moist. The quinoa had a complexity of flavors and was also the best I've had. Try the roasted cauliflower and dip it in the hummus. I've attached a photo of the menu. In warm weather, they have outdoor dining. They also have a full bar. I like this place. If it were in NYC, I'd be a regular. The total cost for an abundant brunch (no alcohol but lots of coffee and tea) was 27 euros. Not bad.

I would highly recommended to make a reservation beforehand. The place is very busy, apparently because it's so good. Beetroot hummus is a new favorite! But also so many other flavors you couldn't even think about. The portion size is satisfying. There's also friendly EN-speaking staff.

What a great place and concept! Not amazed by german food, we decided to have a look at the Israeli food and opted for Hummus and Friends. I was surprised on how they could invent a total concept based on Hummus and healthy food. We went there for a quick lunch. Hummus was served with delicious Pita Bread, we can see all the ingredients and it was sooo delicious. Nice waiters who talked with us in English without problems. Great place if you visit Berlin, 5 stars.

Definitely recommend. Large, great outdoor dining patio with a bustling inside dining room especially as the night wore on after 7PM and it started to cool down. 4 of us - Food was excellent, large portions, flavors spot on, cooked to right temperature and only asked about the salmon not being overcooked but all of our plates were prepared perfectly! Complimentary crusty warm darker, thin sliced bread, served right away. You need to ask for Olive Oil and Balsamic and they were quality bottles. We were denied first of all...however, Alberto our server has a very dry sense of humor and will kid you throughout dinner. Eventually the bottles appeared seemingly from his side. He also assured us loudly that there were no smokers and smoking was not allowed anywhere when I asked him, as, I could smell smoke. Unfortunately, I believed him as he announced it so loudly, with EVERYone was looking at us lol. Duh, it's Europe where smoking is still somewhat kosher. Smokers use the patio freely and it does destroy the airy eating experience if you happen to have a chimney stack in your vicinity...thus was the case for us tonight. DINNER -Grilled Salmon 26 EU was crispy seared on both sides while most in the middle, raw spinach, small roast potatoes -Spinach Ricotta Cannelloni 18 EU - about 7 al dente 3/4" round x 5" long tubes, topped with dark grilled cheese, basil, tomatoes. -even the 4,90 EU side salad with raddichio, anise and a vinaigrette that literally comes as your side when the hot food arrives so be sure to ask for it at the beginning if you like it to start. -Friends' Scallopina Pepeverde pork medallions 23 EU cooked just pink, creamy and was delicious she reported, as was their Tagliatelle Fruiti de Mare 18,90 EU. Traditional Negroni 8,90 EU was well balanced and just what hubby wanted. 5,60 EU 0.5L (16.9 US oz) Berliner Pilsner, 10,90 EU Gin+Tonic Note Restrooms are downstairs. Frosted glass doored with individual sinks in each and shared by all, they were clean; unsure if there is an elevator for less mobile peeps. And...Alberto will also Hound you for a tip, announcing again loudly that your bill includes No TIps, lol ?!!

DECIDEDLY OVER-RATED!…read more Lunch, 30June2018. Hands-down delicious, multi-courses food, in a pleasant environment...except that this is the sort of place that you would dine, just before hanging yourself! No music, just the click-clack of cutlery against plates, and the drone of aged voices speaking of "Boards" and "tech". Why a place like this exists in Mitte is perplexing. Then again, it's Berlin, an odd mixture of old, new, and things that are buried but all too visible. Ah, the cherry-focused dessert has been delivered, with shock-frozen yoghurt pearls. All is well with the world once more, here in Europe, far away from Donald Dumb and his court of Dummies. I retuned to the Pauly Saal bar later today after a very satisfying dinner at Night Kitchen only to be poured a 5oz Chardonnay at Eur10! Recommend you skip this joint and head elsewhere to Night Kitchen where the food is more satisfying, less expensive, and the wine pours are more generous, thereby beckoning you to return to Night Kitchen. Additionally, at least one of the bartenders (specifically the dude with sleeves) is a major a-hole (beyond rude) maybe it's a homo phobic thing. Maybe he just a jerk. We came on a local's recommendation, and it was a great one. We dined in a lovely courtyard behind the main building/entrance. The service was incredible, and the sommelier was a true gentleman and expert at his craft. He paired our meal delightfully and without breaking the bank. Service was wonderful, and paced well. Each course came out in good timing, and we never waited long for anything. There was always something to nibble on at the table, even between the more substantial entrees. Each course was better than the one before it, and the ingredients were creatively integrated and used (mackerel "chips"?? Rhubarb 4 ways for dessert?! AWESOME!). The plating was sublime, and the presentation, as you can see in the photo my friend put together from our evening, was total art. The rundown, from the photo: Clockwise: bread basket, deconstructed cucumber soup amuse-bouche, mussel chips with mackeral and strawberry, wild zucchini with risotto and corn foam, ox cheek with potato coins, rhubarb four ways for dessert, chef's gift of gold macarons and "coal" ice cream, and the brave survivors. :-) We enjoyed the flavors and even a few little surprises from the kitchen, chef's treat...so much fun to dine here! We had an experience, both in flavor and in the dining setting, that none of us will soon forget. German dining in style, for sure. And yes, smoking is allowed in Europe, for the other reviewers that were harsh about that, it's a cultural misunderstanding I guess...really not a problem in our group's opinion, and we had several Americans in tow. Can't wait to visit again in the near future...!
