Absolutely loved the food here. The falafel platter is super yummy. Love the falafel and hummus. It's very flavorful and good portion however it's still too expensive even if the quality is amazing. The pizza was also pretty yummy as well. Very fresh. The lentil soup was well seasoned and very yummy. Would highly recommend!

This place should be renamed "Hummus Paradise", as that is how hummus must taste like in heaven :-). We'd been there once many years ago, and a pre-show dinner brought us to this cozy half-basement, intimately set-up, fully vegetarian eatery again. We started with their 3-mezze deal (3 for $26), and stopped reading the long list of options after the consecutive display of our favorite veggies: beetroot, artichoke, and brussels sprout. The chunky artichoke was stewed with chopped tomatoes, but remained nicely al dente while soaked with flavors. The beetroot salad came with a surprise green herb: one may expect parsley, but it was cilantro instead, which lent it a unique aroma. For our mains, I asked for Falafel Hummus while husband ordered veggie couscous. The hummus, their specialty, was just divine: silky, smooth, creamy, rich, tasty ... I could not stop eating it. Yes my happy mood was definitely sponsored by hummus, as claimed by the plaque on the wall :-). And the falafels were also the type I love - crispy brown on the outside while luscious green on the inside (from green herbs such as parsley). The couscous looked simple, with large chunks of veggies over a bed of couscous. However, the broth that our waiter delivered turned the whole dish into an ambrosial feast! Even though we were stuffed to the brim after so much food, we couldn't skip their baklava ... well, we had to pack two out of three and sneak them in my bag before heading to the Beacon Theater for Jerry Seinfeld :-).

This is our 3 d visit to Hummus. We are from California and can't miss this tasty fair. The pita is fluffier than ever the hummus is just right and creamy and the shashuka ultimately the best. The peppers and onions are well seasoned and the egg is enough for 2. Highly recommend

We love Hummus Place! Super solid option for take out or delivery. Great Hummus, great falafels, I also loved the cauliflower appetizer we tried and the mint lemonade. Service is always very warm and attentive without being overbearing. Seating for 2 is usually manageable but the place is small so for larger parties I recommend take out and bring into the park for a picnic

Amazing authentic food! All vegetarian menu, good seating and very quick and attentive service. I absolutely loved this spot and will surely be back. Ordered the falafel plater which came with pita and a hot mint tea. Delish!!!!

We were looking for a vegan place and this restaurant did not disappoint! Everything was absolutely delicious and very filling. I loved the pickles and olives and was very pleased by the butternut squash soup.

Amazing vegetarian place you could order anything on the menu and you will not be disappointed. It's a vegetarian dream come true.

The food portions were large and tasty. I especially loved the orange juice (Brunch included this and salad + tea), eggs and hummus. Good whole grain option for pita bread. It gets a bit loud inside but it was cozy and staff are friendly.

Love the Hummus Place! It's a delicious, affordable, vegetarian Israeli place in a cozy underground space on the UWS. When I want cozy Mediterranean food with no frills, I know Hummus Place is a solid option. My friend and I split the eggplant shakshuka and the falafel platter, and it was excellent. I've never had eggplant in my shakshuka and I'm so glad I got to try it here. The eggplant slices were large but soft and absorbed the flavors and spices of the tomato sauce wonderfully. My friend and I were waffling between a few falafel options, but I'm so glad we decided on the platter! It comes with a bunch of different sides, salads, and veggies, and I appreciated the diversity. The falafel was fresh and crunchy on the outside while being bright green and steamy on the inside. It was fun to assemble our own pita sandwiches with the hummus, smashed falafel, health salad, cabbage, and even some shakshuka on top. So simple and delicious! Also, between my friend and I, we only spent $20 per person which is great for NYC!

Shakshuka, aubergine eggs brunch, Labane Cheese

Came here for brunch on a Saturday a bit after they opened. The inside seemed to be full when I went to the bathroom but my sisters and I opted to sit outside in the little outdoor structure. It was extremely cute outside. It felt like we were sitting in a small greenhouse because of the wooden structure, the white doors with windows, the plants lining the side, and the flowers on the table. The service throughout was quick and friendly. We never had to wait long for anything like ordering, bill, etc. We were even given the option to refill our coffee which is free. We decided to get the traditional tomato shakshuka, the brunch option of aubergine eggs which comes with orange juice, coffee, salad, humus, and potatoes, and we got the labane cheese which comes with pita. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and my sister was satisfied with the coffee. The shakshuka was my absolute favorite. It was so savory. The eggs were cooked perfectly. 0 complaints it's a must get. The aubergine eggs were pretty good. They were served almost Benedict style. The potatoes and salad were good to eat when dipped in the hummus or shakshuka. The hummus was bomb! The labane cheese was creamy and savory. It was delightful with the soft and warm pita. It was great to mix different ingredients together to eat with the different spreads. I would mix hummus and labane, labane and shakshuka, etc. Flavor explosions!! Prices were reasonable for the location. Would 100% come again. I immediately shared with my friends who love Mediterranean food. They were extremely jealous.

The place wasn't busy during lunch time but busy during dinner time. Amazing service and delicious food! The food was fresh and came out fast. Lunch specials are $21.95 for 2 courses while dinner specials are $36.95 for 4 courses. I had the Eggplant with Tomato Sauce and Beets as the first course and Lamb Adana Kebab as Entrée. Lamb Adana Kebab comes with salad, which I can't have since it's cold and raw, but they were able to accommodate me and replaced salad with more rice. I had Kabak Tatlısı, which has a nice sweet taste and is healthy. All were delicious, also gluten free, dairy free and soy free. Plus, the Turkish Tea as the fourth course was a great pair with my meals. Their menu offers a variety of choices, including options that are gluten free, dairy free, and soy free. I would definitely come back and suggest you give this place a try if you are in Hell's Kitchen or Columbus Circle.

I first went to Hummus Kitchen at their UES location, but this one is equally wonderful. The space is on the smaller side (a bit narrow) and they have indoor seating for around 20-25 people. I recommend making a reservation in advance. The servers are friendly, attentive and the food comes out fairly quickly. As the name implies, the hummus here is excellent as is the thick pita it comes with (they have regular and whole wheat). If you haven't been before, get "the hummus kitchen" as it has 4 different types of hummus you can try. The mazze are also tasty, my favorite would have to be the grape leaves, but the falafel, cauliflower and babaghanoush are also extremely delicious (you can order any 3 for $28 and it comes with pita). For entrees, I highly highly recommend the chicken shawarma tacos (2 per serving) followed by the open arais tacos (also 2 per serving) and the Mediterranean red chicken (in that order). If you don't go with the shawarma tacos or want less bread, then the shawarma platter is also a good choice. The chicken shawarma tacos here are simply incredible, they serve them in their warm fluffy pita, sliced in half, open and fill the inside with chicken, onions and whatever else makes is so ridiculously addictive. This thing is bursting with flavor, it has to be the best chicken shawarma I have had in NYC. The tacos also come with a small side of hummus and babaghanoush along with pickles and some tomato salad. The portions are what you would expect as are the prices. Really a delicious spot if you are in the area or want a great/quick meal before or after a show.

While we're making fewer trips into the city these days, our return for a pre-theater lunch proved that Hummus Kitchen hasn't missed a beat -- in fact, we both agreed that they've stepped up the entire experience. The Kosher Israeli food is fresher and tastier than ever. The Green Shakshuka off the Brunch menu was a standout, featuring a rich, spiced tomato sauce topped with fresh baby spinach and two perfectly poached eggs. A major highlight to me was the swap from the traditional pita bread to a mini challah bread for dipping. The bread's sweetness perfectly complemented the savory stew. We finished with Turkish coffees and the Kitchen Kadaif, which was absolutely incredible. It's hard to believe it's dairy-free with a combination of shredded phyllo, rich halva, and shredded coconut that's the perfect balance of texture and sweetness. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing, ensuring we were out with plenty of time for our show at Studio 54. If you're looking for an authentic Mediterranean hidden gem in Midtown, this remains a must-visit.

Soft blankets, but still, I was worried Our menus flew away so I went inside and asked if we could sit somewhere else. They were able to sit us on the side of the restaurant outside under a plastic enclosure. Sitting down I was a little bit worried because the chairs at the table seemed really rickety until I met Juan. I forgot all about the rickety chairs and tables once Juan and the food entered my life. Juan is a bright shiny star so happy self friendly so warm and he told us everything to order. He didn't lead us astray once and we love that in a waiter. This time during our our New York visit we were not only discussing our food we are also our waiters. As the hummus was being served, I was telling my table that I don't eat hummus anymore. I found a reason to go back on that here. A must order would be the very first bread in the bread slices for handstands down. So I must've said that it was my birthday when I made the reservation which my birthday is this month and our dessert came with a candle and Juan sang happy birthday to me. It was so freaking cute. I was with two non-dessert eaters but they dove in and I seriously got no more than 1/3rd of it, not one slurp bite or morsel more. I wanted to order another. The only chains I'd make is that I wish there were more bathrooms. I felt bad for the waitstaff peeking at the line and choosing not to stand in it. I hear the chef is up for a James Beard award and the menu is changing with more veggies for the summer. I'll be back in August!
