Located in a large strip mall, parking was not an issue. We were greeted upon entrance and we immediately checked out all their fresh ingredients. My go to base is always greens, instead of rice. . My three proteins of choice today were eel, which I was happy to see, spicy tuna, and ahi tuna. He heated the eel in the microwave for a few. Loved the variety of extensive veggies, sauces, and topping sections. Most are free unlimited too, except for avocado and cream cheese, a small extra charge. I think I pretty much had most of the ingredients in my bowl lol. As far as sauces, you can mix if you like and I was able to sample as well. I'm a spicy chick, so he mixed up a concoction of sriracha aioli and spicy ginger. My bowl was packed with yumminess. I could have used a plate to mix up all the goodies. The eel had a slight sweetness to it and the dressings/sauce was actually not that hat spicy. My bowl was topped with wonton chips for a crispy texture. Fresh poke with a side of great service! Walked in and it was empty, didn't know what to expect. Decided to get a sushi burrito with spicy tuna and ahi tuna, they have a fresh selection of veggies and mango and pineapple. Their sauces are absolutely delicious and you can even add some dry spices like garlic or furikake. Told the young man being the counter it was our first time and he jumped right in. Revin explained the make your own poke bowl and sushirito concept and showcased each of the proteins toppings and sauces. Everything was beautiful and fresh and even the pickiest can build something they'd love to eat! But I'm most impressed with the service: the care that was taken to help my young daughter make her own choices, explanations and samples were offered, clearly marked GF options for my husband and when I asked for peanuts, they were done last and with care to prevent cross-contamination of allergens. The peanuts are whole (not chopped) and were handled carefully. Mostly bar height/ counter seating, but there were 2 tables, which were cleaned incredibly quickly after use. Bowls were served with covers for easy takeaway. Bottled drinks were available in a chiller right by the register. No photos but the menu is online. I asked for a salad base and I was expecting a spring salad (or at least a mix of greens like other places I've been to), but all they had for the "salad" was shredded lettuce, so I added rice for more sustenance. I liked that they didn't charge for crab salad, seaweed salad, or masago. The portion size was a little small in my opinion, but it was good enough for someone like me. Taste wise, it was surprisingly very good! Still GREAT food! Pricing increases haven't scared me away just yet, but it's getting close. Few protein options in comparison to some other poke locations I've been to in Nevada and California, but I don't mind. I do wish I realized that crab salad was at the end and wouldn't count as a protein, but it looked a little bland anyway. I've always enjoyed the option for brown rice and KALE (many others I've gone to don't have it). Hula Poke is the absolute best! I visited for the first time yesterday and I was highly impressed with not only their food but how nice the staff was. I like that besides building your own bowl, salad or wrap, they also have some suggestions which you can already choose from (see the photo on my review for the menu). For this first visit, decided to go with the Hawaiian classic bowl and a create your own bowl. The Hawaiian Classic had ahi tuna, cucumber, red onions, lettuce, masago, pineapple, avocado and house classic salad. The other bowl was almost the same ingredients but with spicy tuna and ahi tuna. Both of the bowls were absolutely delicious and the fish tasted so fresh. Frankly, I can't wait to come back again and eat another delicious bowl of poke. So here I am. I've been to Hula Poke (IH-10 location) at least 20 or 30 times. It is consistently good. Even during the height of the pandemic they pivoted and continued to provide good food, great portions, fair pricing, and friendly service. I love coming here for lunch meetings because it's something a little different, somewhat casual, and it's not usually loud. One of my favorite things about this location is that they're game for switching things up a bit. I like to have the whole contents of the bowl mixed together before sitting down to eat or leaving the store with food to go. That's not something they normally do, but if you ask - they'll do it! And let me tell you - that's the move. All the flavors get incorporated into your food and while you really can't appreciate the rice itself, if you're having a poke bowl you're probably not here for a sushi tasting. Next door neighbour of a pretty good Boba spot with shaved ribbon ice cream. All the trends in one plaza - same owners, I believe. It's really enjoyable poke and reminds me a little bit of the kind that is an Asian-style Sushi Roll alternative, rather than being as typically heavy on the Hawaiian influence. And if you're transporting drugs across borders in a dangerous part of your body, then before your journey you'll have to endure the "Mule Poke." We enjoyed it a lot, and the bobashop next door is nice as well. We will definitely come back here although it's a couple of steps below the best we've ever tasted. Where's my salmon? Ordered to go. The service was great and they called me ahead to let me know one of the items I ordered was not available. Flavor wise, 4/5, the wasabi and spicy mayo aioli was a good combo. Serving wise was unfortunately not great. There was a couple small pieces of salmon. I'm serious. I dumped my bowl into a bigger bowl to search for it and what looked like half a shrimp tempora worth in my bowl so that's a 1/5 in my opinion. I basically paid $16 for vegetables, rice, and sauce. Crab salad was literally just shredded imitation salad. Their house special sauce was actually mixed in with the protein as well as some of the toppings; different from other places. It was too sweet and thick of a sauce for my taste. Their seaweed salad tasted too slimy than the usual texture I've had before. The garlic flakes tasted crunchy than usual, usually you think of thin crisps but it just added an unsatisfying crunchy bite to my bowl.
