After stopping into the UPS store in this shopping center to return some online purchases, I…read moredecided to duck into Cohesion Boutique next door for a fix of brick-and-mortar retail therapy. Although Cohesion has only been open since September 2018, it is a compelling addition to this shopping strip. Immediately upon entering the store, I was struck by how good everything smelled, as well as the chic yet relaxed style of decor. Heather, the owner, mentioned that the candles are available in store, and shared her plans to branch out into more home accents and decorating items, in addition to the women's clothing and accessories currently offered. As far as the clothing selections, the items are unique and run the gamut from more dress-up dresses to everyday wear and athleisure, with a smattering of-the-moment sweaters and scarves in the mix. On my visit there were a number of cute jackets, including a white parka with an adjustable drawcord collar, and a crushed-raspberry colored velvet blazer. I ended up with a not-so-basic LBD with a lace panel and exposed back zip, and a tie-front striped button down shirt that can be transitioned with the seasons. Inventory changes on a weekly basis, and there are only a few selections of each style available in every size--all the more reason to snap up that favorite piece right when you are eyeing it, because it might not be there the next time.

Well, I think you're supposed to try the clothes on BEFORE you take all the tags off and BEFORE you shred the receipt. But that didn't happen. I took them back to THIS store, because the store of origination didn't have the needed size. Customer service is right up front -- which I found out after having walked half the store. OK, walking is a good thing. I had no tags, no receipt, BUT the purchase was on my Kohl's credit card. I was offered a refund or a replacement. I went quickly to the men's department (which is quite adjacent to Customer Service) and found a better size of the same short. That was so painless, the clerk was so friendly and knowledgeable. It was amazing!

When we told her no, she got snippy and said "your loss". Our loss? Nobody wants to pay high interest on your makeshift credit card, Kohls. Even worse, now my Mom goes to pay and swipes her debit card. She accidentally did her PIN backwards, and the card declines. The associate whispers to her co-worker "now I know why she didn't want that credit card. she can't even afford the one she has". WHAT? I didn't know someone could be so nasty. The girls continued snickering after we walked out the doors. We won't ever be back to this Kohls. I don't know why people have to be so nasty, so pushy, etc. Do better Kohls!!
