The farm market didn't hold back on the samples, great cheese, meats, spirits, and lots of local info. Local businesses seemed genuinely happy to have us. Tips: Pay attention to forecast! This is rain or shine and 90% outdoors. We had sun, snow, clouds and wind. Dress appropriately. Don't assume the schedule will hold true. The pace is set by the group members. If some lag, the time will run on. (Not that that's a bad thing....we enjoyed our pace.) Overall a great time. If your are nearby or planning to visit, I would put it on the to do list. Hope it expands to other towns!

What a great way to get to know towns in the Hudson Valley. Our tour was in Rhinebeck and we…read more started at the Farm Market where we sampled an assortment of local cheeses, sausage, pickles, spirits and more. Our walk through Rhinebeck included sampling the best pizza I ever had, gourmet olive oils, balsamic vinegars and sea salts, breads, beers, and chocolates. We also had a chance to go into some of the unique shops Rhinebeck has to offer. Rhinebeck is a charming town and our tour guide enhanced the experience by filling us in on some of the local history. The shop owners were glad to see us and bent over backwards to welcome us. Make sure to bring a bag or backpack of some sort in case you want to purchase some of the great food you sample. We walked, ate and drank our way through Rhinebeck. It is a wonderful way to spend a day and I look forward to our next tour in another town but I also look forward to going back to Rhinebeck since it has so much to offer.

Unlike many food tours where you are offered sample sized portions, this tour includes full sized slices with boxes provided for leftovers. At the end we voted on our favorite crust, sauce and cheese. Beer and wine and specialty sodas were included at each stop. By the 4th stop our group of 16 all became great friends with full bellies and ideas on which restaurants we wanted to revisit.

Well, luckily having the job I have and also meeting people like Colin that are great teachers- I can say that I am much better now! And...what a fun way to learn---with french fries! You need to do this tour! The Fries Around Town Tour is four hours with four stops. It's a 1 1/2 mile walk through historic Downtown New Haven & Yale with lots of fries and beer! Our first stop was at The Trinity Bar for fish & chips & Guinness beer. Yum!! Second stop was Sherkaan for okra fries & Taj Mahal beer. This was a favorite of mine! Next up was pickle frites and New England Brewing beer at Three Sheets! Always great to see Sara! And the last stop was Union League Cafe for their delicious pomme frites with a knock out aioli and Belgian beer. Our group had such a blast and I would recommend doing this to anyone! Ok where do I begin? My family & I had a BLAST!! I think I found it on Yelp in the event section. I…read moreput a family text out to the youngens in the family. Since I read there would be walking & riddles to be solved. And the older fam aren't too fond of the unknown & puzzle solving LOL. The ones that responded decided as a group to do the Cupcake Conundrum in Patchogue. What a great way to explore the different shops on Main St. I don't wanna give too much away because that's where the fun is. Solving the clues & finding the next spot. We got to try Locale where we dined on Mussels in wine sauce & a Margherita Pizza. Both were delicious! That's where we got our first clue. Then there was The Paper Doll Curiosity Shoppe which we all loved and Todd was so friendly & such a pleasure to talk with. Fun stuff in the store. Like the funky glasses with mustaches that we received & wore for the rest of the day like it was normal. We were stopped several times by curious onlookers who wanted to know about the glasses. We proudly told them "We're Food Detectives!!" LOL Several wonderful restaurants including 2 desserts. All of the food was delicious & enjoyable. Remember drinks are not included, and we were fine with that. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. We drove the winding roads through the scenic mountain towns of Tannersville, Jewett and Windham. After a delicious lunch of authentic Polish food and a stroll in Catskill, Seth brought us to Left Bank Cider for a tasting flight. I don't know if we would have found half the places we visited if we had gone on our own! The Land Rover itself was great. The seats are set up like stadium seating, allowing for unimpaired sightseeing as we drove; our ride was safe, comfortable and smooth. We have never ridden in anything like it before. Heads turned whenever we drove by! What made the tour even better was Seth's knowledge of the area and his ability to tell a great story. Highly recommended.

Geoff ended up running our tour and was so nice and patient. We are a bit, um, loud sometimes but Geoff made sure to get the best angles with every group picture and even picked up our untimely food order so we wouldn't miss the last tasting. He was also extremely knowledgeable about local wine! **THE EXPERIENCE** It was a gorgeous fall Saturday. I highly recommend taking this trip in October, as the foliage was breathtaking. Milea Vineyard, our first stop, felt like a mansion, and the tasting room was sunlit and gorgeous. Clinton Vineyards was more of a country farmhouse, and our group had a private tasting with the owner, Phyllis, who is a super interesting woman. The last, Milbrook, was a bit busy, but the property has a cute lake and food, and before the tasting, you can check out the vineyard and store. Again HIGHLY recommended! While most companies weren't able to accommodate such a small party, this company was happy to work with us. Mike called me in advance to talk about what kind of day we wanted to have, what we like to drink and if we had any special ideas in mind. He had a great working knowledge of: which breweries had the best views; who had what kinds of products; what sort of food was served where; who had live music or special events and so on! He seemed happy to accommodate any requests we had in designing the tour, but was equally capable of crafting a great day with no help from me. It was nice to feel like I could be as much or as little a part of those choices as I wanted and know it would still be a great day. Our tour was also with Mike - who was on time, communicative, friendly, a good driver and an overall great guide. We had a wonderful day full of fantastic beer, some tasty cider, great food and good music. I would absolutely use Hudson Valley Beer Tours again in the future!
