i am currently researching what the legal and actual obligations of an insurance broker is. while i do not have definitive answers as of yet, and will post when available to me. while an insurance agent, like a car salesman has a lot of product knowledge. i believe i may be able to say that dave jr does have as much product knowledge of the various insurance products he sells, which is no different than the car sales man who also has a lot of knowledge of the products he is selling. the question would be, what happens if there is a dispute or issue with your purchased insurance product or purchased automobile.
in my case there was an issue with one of my insurance products, handled by dave jr, sold to him by dave sr. when i stated in my previous review that i felt very pressured to sign something i believed not to be truthful and that was contrary to the facts i knew to be true, dave jr made legal threats against me. lawyers etc....he claimed that i had slandered him and in fact i felt it was a methodology to scare me into not posting my reviews of him and his company. meanwhile dave sr who sold the policy to dave jr, screamed and yelled at me and called me an idiot.
this reaction alone is a reason not to purchase a policy from dave jr or hudson valley agents and to remove all of your existing policys from them and place it with another agent/broker.
the question is after the sale, how will you be treated by dave jr and his staff at hudson valley agents? a month later, a year later several years later? when you buy a car, how will the seller/dealership treat you after you drive away, a month later? a year later? several years later?
this is why i love the review process, it gives out important information. i tend to listen. hey i liked a pair of pants i saw on the computer, but most reviews said that it did not wash well etc.. so i did not buy that pair of pants.
a business should have 100% great reviews now and later on, with an emphasis on later on, after the sale is made.
i will keep you posted on hudson valley agents and other business that require review, which is all of them.
the only appropriate action hudson valley agents can do is apologize to me.
note: i still do not have my requested flood insurance policy. that is part of the after the sale issue mentioned earlier read more
