I attended for their live chef competition. This is such a unique experience after watching all of these cooking shows and judges. We got to tap into that with our score sheets as we watched the chefs go head to head with their mystery baskets. We had 3 courses from each chef and got to ask them questions and interact throughout the competition. You can choose to sit at the chefs counter as I did, or one of the tables if you're with a group or couples date. Food was tasty and portion were well worth it. They do recommend you be open as far as dietary restrictions, so be aware of that. It's only fair. I will come back for a cooking class. Music and service were great. I enjoyed this and do recommend.
My sister and I came here for the chef's competition and it was so much fun. I was the first person to arrive (15 mins early) and the staff said she can't seat me yet so I went to the restroom. When I came out she had seated two other people who got a better view which did upset me since I was the first to arrive. She comped me a drink and said we get to get out of our seats which was true. The experience was phenomenal. The chefs were fun and entertaining. They did their best to engage with all the guests though the ones that seat at the kitchen have more engagement. The food was amazing - come hungry because it's full size appetizer, entree and dessert - times two! We had a sheet to review and score the meals. We get to rate and choose a chef at the end and we do all go around the table to give our review. This was such a blast!
My partner was able to book a reservation for Hudson Table Brooklyn for a Saturday night. You have to set a reminder when making a reservation because they are released monthly. There are 2 choices for seating: first row counter seating and second row table seating. We were able to get first row, but since you are encouraged to walk around while the chefs are cooking, I wouldn't have minded table seating if you want to save a little. This is an interesting experience where you get to watch two chefs compete in a 3 course cooking battle, "Iron Chef" style. They are given a mystery basket of ingredients 90min prior to the dinner session to create meals plans with a sous chef. When you are seated, we were given a plate of bread with a raspberry butter as an appetizer. It was lovely. As the chef are cooking you are able to watch the whole process and ask them any questions. They cannot really accommodate for allergies and dietary restrictions. After each course, you are to rate the dish on presentation, taste, and creativity. And at the end, everyone is to announce which chef you believe is the winner. If you are not a speaker, you may want to mentally prepare a few sentences to say about each chef. I was slightly anxious when it was my turn. Haha. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and I would recommend trying this once.
I wouldn't say that the chef competitions were super difficult to get tickets to. If you book in advance, usually there's a good amount of spots available. I was super excited for this chef competition! I enjoy watching cooking shows and now I can finally taste the food like the judges. It was a nice set up with counter seating and table seating. You can openly view the chefs cooking and preparing the meals as expected of a chef competition experience. The staff were friendly and interactive to a degree. I think it helps to be more extroverted because if you don't initiate interaction, they don't really interact that much. It's a unique experience of being a judge and seeing two chefs compete. I haven't seen this type of experience elsewhere. Before experiencing I thought $150 per person was a decent price given you are provided two 3-course meals and you have the whole unique experience of chef competing. Reading through reviews, I expected larger portions. Reality was (at least for my one experience) the portion sizes were smaller than average. I would say a regular 3 course menu I get at another restaurant would be a bigger portion and probably for a lower price point. I was also disappointed at the quality of the food. The food was average to good at best. Nothing blew my mind, there's stuff that was good! But there was also stuff that was just average. I guess that's the nature of the chef competition. I think I was definitely expecting a higher quality of food. Don't get me wrong though, I definitely tasted some unique and creative bites that were delicious! It was fascinating to see how quick they adjusted and their ideas that they came up with. I understand, it was a chef competition and I'm there to experience chefs competing using mystery ingredients within a constricted time frame so the quality of food might not be a good representation of their actual abilities. But I can't help but think of in real cooking competitions, the quality of your food and the tastiness is still being judged. They are also under the same rigorous expectations but still have a delicious outcome. Overall: I am still happy I got to experience the chef competition and I do encourage people to experience it for themselves. The concept is incredibly fun. My friends enjoyed themselves so perhaps the food just didn't suit my taste. I think it'll be a one time experience for me.
I recently attended an event (about 30 people) at Hudson Table in Williamsburg, and it was such a fun, memorable experience. The setup was perfect for a group interactive, well-organized, and engaging from start to finish. We made paella together, with mussels and chicken, and it turned out absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh, and the instructors did a great job guiding everyone so even those who don't usually cook felt comfortable participating. For dessert, we had churros, which were the perfect sweet ending crispy, warm, and really satisfying. The chocolate tip had a touch of cayenne pepper! Overall, it was a fantastic group activity and a great way to bring people together. Highly recommend for team events, celebrations, or just something different to do with friends!
Such a vibe! Did the chef competition twice. You really need to try to get tickets right when it's released cause they sell out very quickly. Always get the counter seats! Different chefs, different vibes, different cuisines and style of cooking and food. It's such a fun time with your partner, friends, and family. Highly recommended! The Brooklyn location is not BYOB btw.
This was a great experience- I thought it would be more like the show chopped but they explained it as chopped meets iron chef. There are 3 rounds- appetizer, entree and dessert and specific times for each course but if you take extra time after the clock you lose it in the following course (or point deduction in the final). They encourage conversation (and to ask to taste things) with diners, sous chefs and chefs. It's very fun to see the hustle and bustle of everyone and the chaos that ensues as the timer runs out. It was fun to score and at the end we all had to share who our winning chef was and why. Would 100% do this again, such a memorable experience.

Chef Angie and Chef Oliver were competing for our dinner, and both of them created some truly creative and delicious dishes. Every course came out well done. The layout of the location was also interesting; 12 guests were seated around the cooking stations, with two additional tables behind that seating another eight guests. It made the whole experience feel very intimate and immersive. Overall, it was a cool night that I'd recommend to anyone looking for something different and memorable.

And the dishes were creative and did well with the secret ingredients. It was a bit more than I would spend on a normal show or a normal lunch, but I guess it's worth it for the amount of food you get. I will say the ticket buying process was very stressful. I tried right at 11 when they opened and despite the website saying there were seats available for other times, I kept getting told they disappeared (even though I would go back and they'd still be listed). I wasn't initially planning on doing the lunch option but it's fine and worked out.

We were running a little late, but their team responded promptly when we reached out--very different from a previous experience I had at another location, where no one got back to me until after the event was over. Our class was held on the ground level, which felt intimate and welcoming, with a small group size that made the experience more personal. We signed up for Surf and Turf night and had a great time. We originally brought a bottle of wine, but learned there's a $25 corkage fee. Since they offer a full menu of cocktails and wine, we decided to order from there instead, which worked out well. Vlad, our chef, was excellent--knowledgeable, engaging, and kept the atmosphere fun. Overall, Hudson Table Brooklyn delivered a great mix of good food, hands-on learning, and a warm setting.
My boyfriend and I made a reservation for Sunday brunch. It is also easy to find street parking at this time. We had Chefs Christina and Chef Chris. I can't remember the sous chefs names, but they were all amazing including the hostess and the staff. They explained how the competition work. The chefs were given 30 min each to complete an appetizer, an entree and a dessert using the mystery ingredients. I highly recommend you to secure first row seats, so you don't have to get up because the folks at the in the back (2nd row) had to get up to see the chefs/sous chefs working. I say you will have lots of food to eat since you get 6 dishes altogether. The dishes are creative, well executed, and aesthetically presentable. At the end you get to say the winner and provide an explanation if you want. I will back for dinner next time! There is only one restroom and hooks for your jackets and bags.
Booked one of their Chef Competition experiences as a surprise for my partner's birthday - it was a blast!! We enjoyed watching Chef Jose and Chef Kemo pull together each dish within the parameters. It was fun and interactive.. and everything was delicious! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a fun and unique dining experience.
My friend and I had a great time here for the chef competition! I grew up watching so many cooking competition shows like Chopped, Iron Chef etc Come hungry because you are about to get a 6 course dinner in 3 hours, and the portions are big. It was cool getting to watch the chefs do their magic and you have the opportunity to talk to them too. At the end, you tally up the score, and each judge has to say who they voted for and why. Something I think would be good to improve for future events is if the judging was more "fair". I felt like clearly there was a psychological bias going on for those sitting at the counter. Everyone who sat on the right side voted for the chef on the right side and everyone who voted on the left side voted for chef on the left. There were also a handful of people who I didn't feel were qualified to judge, I'm not gunna name names or doxx them but if you're not a chef/foodie/adventurous eater aka this is your first time having thai curry, I'm sorry but what? The audacity to say something wasn't creative, like bruh, did you even pay attention to the ingredients in the dish? Maybe a way to minimize bias, idk if it would be weird but just some ideas: - Have the chefs switch grills - Force everyone to walk around and engage with both chefs - Remove points if the chef went over time limit - Remove points if the chef barely used an ingredient Overall it was a fun and creative way to spend the night. Great for a night with friends or date night!

I came here for the Friday brunch chefs competition and now I'm back for the dinner competition. What An amazing experience! Come hungry because these 6 courses will really leave you full. While I recommend trying to get a seat at the chefs table. Honestly, you will still have a great time at the main seating area. No one ever truly stays in their seat. We all get up and look and taste and chat. Parking is a breeze. I have always found parking on Leonard St between Jackson and Withers with no problem. Both times I've come solo and didn't feel alone at all. This will be a recurring activity for me. read more

I'm giving this restaurant/cooking demonstration/iron chef presentation/dinner experience a very enthusiastic top STARS award certainly not because it was the best food. I've eaten that it was the best time I've had eating food in a long time. Reservations are insanely hard to come by their offered two weeks in advance for a period of two weeks and you better be online second they come open and even then you might not get a seat. But if you do get a Seat pay the extra money to sit the front row it is so worth it. This is a chopped/iron chef competition dinner where there are two chefs that are given mystery ingredients an hour and a half before the guests arrive. They are allowed one sous shop to assist them and they came up with a plan for appetizer, which is the first time event and a main course which is the second time event and a dessert which is the third time event. It's a flat fee reservation with tip included, except for the drink which you order off the menu and they have very reasonable prices and then you're expected to tip on that. Weeknight reservations are cheaper than weekend. The location is right next to the subway exit so if you're coming from Manhattan, it's an easy ride on the subway. There is a master of ceremonies host who tells you all the rules and conducts the voting and the penalties for overtime spent for ingredients lacking in the chef's dinner. The customers are the ones that award points. On my most recent minute visit a couple days ago I found that one chef had the most superb salmon appetizer that I have ever had. It was pretty much perfect and I would order it at any restaurant that I went to. However, he totally was a failure when it came to desserts and unfortunately, he lost the competition. It was kind of interesting as the males overly selected. The male chefs recipes has been superior and didn't really concentrate on his totally terrible dessert while the female females voted for the female chef. Most several couples were split on their vote. It was quite interesting. This would make a superb family outing or business activity, dinner or romantic date! Must try: Chef Competition! Why: What an incredible and unique dining experience to see two chefs cooking a 3 course meal (appetizer, entree, and dessert) for a large group! I was lucky enough to be invited by a friend who came for an alumni networking event. The MC/Host helped set the tone and got us excited for the experience. The Chefs and Sous Chefs were awesome going head to head with their mystery basket ingredients. They got creative and delivered some amazing flavorful dishes. My favs were Chinese Bacon Soup, Arctic Salmon over Israeli Couscous, Chinese Bacon Fried Rice, and the Cheesecake with crust made from Animal Crackers! My friend and I also enjoyed an iced cold bottle of refreshing Prosecco. Notes: We got to be the judge scoring on Taste, Presentation, and Creativity. Overall, a super fun 3 hr dining experience. They took the competition seriously too with each appetizer, entree, and dessert timed (35-45 mins each segment). Highly recommend the experience but book in advance! read more

These might be the hardest tickets to get in Brooklyn. I thought we were stuck with the vegan chef competition, but the food was so delicious that we left impressed trying to figure out how to recreate them. it was fun to be able to give our pros/cons to the chefs, note things like presentation & creativity, and talk with the other guests. The space is clean with a huge kitchen surrounded by a bar like seating area. There's additional seating further from the kitchen, but I noticed those guests would stand up to see the chefs' work. Unfortunately, you don't know the menu beforehand and the chefs find out about an hour before the ingredients so I doubt you can order. All I can say is the vegan brownie & cabbage wrapped mushroom burrito were amazing. In third place, was the hummus appetizer which had a kick to it. Be sure you have time because it's not an event that you wanto leave early, and they're literally cooking everything from scratch. Pricey as it's over $100 per person not including drinks, but worth it for a special night. Be sure to put an alarm for ticket release dates because I was twenty minutes late and ended up with the last option available. read more

Had front row seats at the chef competition and it was AMAZING! Chefs Theo and Eric were great competitors and also great showmen. They interacted with the crowd and made some amazing dishes. I would definitely say come hungry because you are getting 3 courses from each chef. And they are all delicious! read more
Wow what an experience! Booked for a Spanish surf and turf class and it was so fun and informative. Upon arriving we were greeted and checked in. We had a seat at the counter and waited until start time. We were served a light appetizer and ordered some drinks. They have decent premade cocktails and wines to offer. The chef did a chopping lesson and we got straight to work! Black bean and mango salsa, chimichurri sauce for the steak, chorizo rice, shrimp and flan. 4 to a table-- so since we were a couple we paired up with 2 other people to make the full meal. You will be working! So don't think you're there just for the grand finale lol read more
TLDR: If you're looking for a fun food activity in NYC, this is it! We had such a great time with the Chef Cooking Competition experience at Hudson Table. The experience was so interactive, fun and of course included delicious food. Getting to see the process and add a little time pressure made it super fun. The chefs were so engaging and walked us through their cooking process as it was happening. If you're looking to fulfill your cooking show dreams then definitely book this experience. Note: 3 dishes from each chef is definitely a lot of food so I would recommend going with an empty stomach! read more
**Review for Chef Competition (They also offer classes) Such a unique date night experience-- think Chopped with 2 chefs competing for a winning title, where you are the judge. Yes, this means you get to eat a 3-course meal x 2. Come hungry. Just as in Chopped, the chefs are given mystery basket ingredients and have to curate a 3-course menu from these, in hopes of winning over their audience through the specs of presentation, taste, and creativity. You are given a score sheet that you debrief with the rest of the judges at the end of the tastings. Super action packed and the chefs converse with those sitting at the counter throughout the competition! It is $150 pp for 2nd row seating and $160 pp to sit at the counter. Although the ticket prices are pricey, the drinks are more than affordable, averaging about $10-12 (Although, I think the cocktails are canned- don't quote me here). Insider tip, set a reminder on your Google Cal for when to make a reservation. (They have already sold out all of the competition bookings through 9/15/24) I believe they release a month at a time! We LOVED LOVED LOVED this place, we had chef Oliver and Angie and vivi and they were all super friendly and informative. Oliver definitely showed us the right way to make pasta and he even taught us a few new cutting skills. It was so much fun from the moment we walked in. You can purchase the Hudson table aprons for 25$ each but if you don't they give you some to borrow while your there. As soon as you walk in they have bread and spread to go on top of it. They offer drinks for additional charge. There is PLENTY of food for everyone at the end and we were in a group of 10 and made 3 dishes and there was so much left over. If your looking for a sexy romantic date this is definitely it. This was one of the best valentines days I ever had. I definitely can't wait to come back again. read more
Came here for a friend's bday celebration. This place was amazing, we signed up for a pasta making class. They were even able to customize our dishes according to our diet. Vlad was amazing, his energy and his passion for cooking was SO fun and made our class even more fun. I loved this place and we will be back to try different classes! Highly recommend this for a date night or girls night! read more

We came here for the chef competition and it was a very unique experience! Highly recommend getting counter seating if you can because you can see everything up close and interact with the chefs. It's definitely a lot of food so come hungry! You can buy wine that's very affordably priced by the bottle here as well. read more

I freaking love this place. It is a huge, upscale modern decor kitchen. It books up quickly, and you must have reservations. Chef Vlad explained the dishes we will be cooking, which is a main dish, sides & a dessert. Kemo and the other assistant chefs helped us along the way. This is a great event to get in the kitchen with your friends or family to cook & argue alongside them. Afterward, we sat and enjoyed our dinner. Date night here was amazing last week! We made reservations two months prior, and this live chef competition did not disappoint! We were greeted by Hostess / Chef Angie who was incredibly welcoming and such a great communicator around what to expect, the instructions, etc. for newbies such as us. She made the evening so fun and enjoyable. Chefs Oliver and Kimo made incredible dishes from a mystery box that you can literally watch from start to finish, from prep to plating. As attendees, you just have to show up, be seated and prepare to be entertained and fed delicious meals by talented chefs. Highly recommend for a date night! read more

I rented the space to host a family event/celebration. It was wonderful! From start to finish, they took care of all of my needs and wants. Their communication via email was clear and timely. The day of the event I didn't have a care at all! They took care of everything. The set up was beautiful, the food was delicious and the staff and chef were attentive and nothing but professional. We had an amazing time. I highly recommend them if you're looking for an event space. I imagine their cookingclasses are just as good and fun. read more

Always wanted to take a pasta making class and for my birthday, my love muffin took me. We arrived quite early considering I live on the other side of Brooklyn but that was okay. We were able to sit down and just speak with the chef one on one and that was so warming. He even was able to give us insight on his classes, when we cooks what and the best times to book. Shortly after, more of the class started rolling in. We chose the Italian cooking class. On the menu was brown butter and sage gnocchi, roasted red pepper pasta alfredo, lamb and mint cannelloni and for dessert affogato la caffe. We were apart of a group of five and each member was responsible for certain steps within each dish. We had such an amazing time cooking with the family we had just met. The instructor was very helpful and assisted as needed. He starts the class off doing a demo of the basics and you're provided with a thorough recipe booklet to walk you through the rest. Of course, if you get stuck anywhere along the way he's there to assist. The class forced me to finally go ahead and purchase the pasta attachment for me Kitchenaid. 10/10 recommend for a date night. Can't wait to go back and try out their seafood making class. read more
Hudson Table did it again! We loved it so much the first time we came back with some friends. Last night we did the Classic Surf & Turf hands on class and it was amazing! Luis and Natalie were amazing instructors who took the time to show us how to make all of the dishes step by step! It was so much fun because we got to be so involved in the creation process and modify ingredients to what we wanted best for our food! Everything came out delicious and the dinner was absolutely amazing!!! We will definitely be coming back again soon! I highly recommend booking a hands on class with Luis, he is the best instructor ever and makes cooking so much fun. read more
