Hit 3 different Hudson news in C terminal. Rudest folks. Couldn't be bothered to put the cell phone down long enough to ring up a phone charger. The one gentleman with the shiny grill directed me to the self scan on a item, they didn't bother to add into inventory. Rang up 0.00. The one lady that finally rang me up didn't want you be bothered. I won't ever waste my time with any Hudson News locations going forward. read more

This Hudson News had all the snacks I wanted for my long flight, so I was quite pleased with the selection. There was a cashier available to assist with checkout, but I opted to use their self checkout option. The store was clean and organized. What I found out in hindsight was my flaming hot pretzels only had a few days left before they expired. I didn't get around to finishing them, so they expired. It would be great if the staff could restock products to ensure freshness. That was my only negative feedback. read more

Hudson News are typically seen at most airports. This one is at O'Hare International Airport and it was the most unfriendly experience I have ever endured. The prices are ridiculous since you are paying airport prices. I bought a Chex Snack Mix ($11.09), Airborne ($16.19) and a Dasani Liter ($5.29) because they didn't have any Evian. I was standing in line for the cashier when the staff asked me cash or credit. I said credit. She basically told me to go to self check out and deal with it myself. So I go to self check out... and the Dasani bottle has their QR code right next to the barcode. Obviously I know which one is the barcode, but the scanner keeps scanning the wrong one. Then the lady keeps yelling at me from afar and lecturing me. I'm like I KNOW!! Then she finally comes over after I already handled it. So USELESS and annoying!! I rather throw my money away than come back here for this second rate citizen treatment. I'm sure other places in this airport has snacks and water to purchase from. read more

Man this was a regret. Should of went anywhere else in the Chicago Terminal. The pre-maid Turkey Sandwich I purchased here at 'HUDSON NEWS' was literally the worst food purchase of my life. It obviously was a bad regretful scenario all around. The whole thing about the service was improper as well. The male invidual working clearly did not care about the customers nor the 'Hudson News' establishment he was hired and working for. Also, he seemed perturbed that he had to get to a job in the first place especially that early. He noticed that I had a carry on bag, so he said that they do not have any bags and I can just put what I purchased in my carryon, "It should fit in your carry-on. We don't offer bags." O'Hare location. They have about 5 self/checkout lanes here. The system kept trying to read a QR code instead of a bar code, and I had to cover the QR code with my finger to get self checkout to work. Then the system charged me and went right back to the start screen with no option to print a receipt. When I asked for a receipt the employees said I could return the items I just bought and then buy them again to get a receipt. Skip this store until they fix the checkout issues. read more

Today I encountered the worst employee of any business at Hudson News on Terminal 3, near Gate H17, American Airlines gate. As I approached the store, I politely asked the sales person if I can unfold a sweatshirt that has CHICAGO on the front of it to check the size. She answered - "There's already one on the mannequin!" I struggled to see the size on sweatshirt on the mannequin because it's too high but I saw it a MEDIUM. I wear a Large. So I unfolded a size Large to double check if it will fit me. I started to fold it to take it to the counter to pay. The sales person loudly asked me while I was folding it - "ARE YOU GOING TO BUY THAT?" I said - "yes" as I approached the counter. I handed her a $100 bill. She said - " I CANNOT DO ANYTHING WITH THAT!" I paid with my credit card. I waited for her to give me a receipt & a bag. She said - "You are done!" I asked for a bag. She said - "I will have to charge you 50 cents for the bag!" Rudest person on earth!!! I left, didn't get receipt! I just wanted to get out of there! Stopped at 2 Hudson News stores here at Chicago O'Hare. At the first, I grabbed a souvenir Chicago mug with "Chicago" written in large letters, and photos and a description of a bunch of their most well-known landmarks. It was $9 when similar souvenirs at the Willis Tower / former Sears Tower gift shop are probably 50% more expensive than that. I went to a second Hudson location later in the day to get a snack. A vitamin water cost me $4.29 and a relatively small bag of gummy bears ran $5.29. Their overinflated prices are based on supply and demand: They know people will be thirsty and want snacks, have few other options at the airport so they price everything at a premium. It should also be noted that, when I bought my mug, the woman asked if I wanted a bag. I told her I did, and she charged me a "bag fee". That one really IS a first! Lol. read more

Bought a charger in la Guardia Hudson and tried to return it at the Chicago Hudson because I thought I lost my charger (when I didn't). They state the return policy on their website is to allow returns at any store for 60 days if the product is unopened, but when you try to return something at a store you really have to argue with them and demand a Manager before they will take the return. We went to three different shops in the airport arguing with different employees until finally someone took the charger back. On top of it, their stores are just ridiculously over priced. There should be laws against the price gauging here, especially when they are the only shop in the airport! Other countries have done similar things. If the Charger wasn't $50 more then it costs at an apple store I probably would have just kept it! read more

I don't usually review airport business unless they are really good, or really bad. Such is the case with this Hudson News. I came in to buy a shot glass. I collect them from the places I travel to and this was the only place where the had one I like. Long story short. Service is horrible, there were three associates and none of them was running the register. There was a line of people waiting and apparently the person who had to rum the register was running late and the three princesses there refused to do it. At last someone came, and it didn't get better. She was only taking credit cards and half the people who was waiting had to leave and waste there time. Moral of the story. Unexpectedly, there were a good amount of healthy options, lots of high quality nuts and dried fruit and healthy drinks. Very nice magazine selection. Rowena L at store 850 (near gate K8) was an absolute jerk. I wanted a caffeinated beverage and there were 2 (what appeared to be) coolers. One cooler was full of water which was cold, but the second cooler was full of juice and soda and water. The water in the second cooler was cold but all sodas and juices were room temperature (I just wanted a cool/caffeinated drink for my layover). I asked her if she had any cold/cool sodas. She then screamed at me, "it's broken!" There was no sign. It appeared to be operating as usual. I then asked if she had any cold sodas anywhere (this kiosk isn't in the main stretch or close to another). She said "what do you expect?!" ...I expect a kiosk airport cooler to have cold drinks in it, and not to be told it's broken, unless there's a sign or some indication. She affirmed me that I could still buy a Diet Coke, it would be $5. For a warm Diet Coke. (Same applies to everything in the cooler). If this condescending and patronizing behavior is acceptable at HudsonNews, I'll get my soda from elsewhere from now on. read more

You can get many of the things you might need on your flight that you may have forgotten to pack, like batteries, earbuds, charging cords, salty or sweet snacks, all at outrageous prices. In fairness, the prices are only a little higher than you would find at other airports. What you won't find here is much of a selection of news, they carry no international papers. It's a really tight space, you have to be very careful if you have any luggage, but you're okay if you're traveling Spirit Airways since you will be the only people in the airport without carry-ons. The cashiers seem to have been trained to work in the style of Soviet bureaucracy, they are notably slow and grim. read more

I guess this is the chain you just can't avoid. Since I've been an airport warrior for the past few years I've encountered quite a few Hudsons. They are all more or less the same, offer more or less the same stuff and rarely anything under $5, including bottles of water. I do like that some stores, the clerk is very avid in letting you know the cost of things before you buy. Sometimes I get warned that the bottle I'm buying is like $5.32 after taxes and I just kind of begrudgingly accept it because I don't have many other choices. There are tons of these Hudson News Stands all over every airport I travel through. They come in quite handy to be honest. They carry books, magazines, snacks, drinks, souvenir, and random medications. It truly is my go to place for head ache meds when I run out. They are usually quite clean and tidy. The workers are some what helpful as well. They also know the layout of the airport they are located in as well and can suggest great places to grab an adult beverage or some good hot food. I'm sure if you do any bit of flying you will run accross one of these places for sure. read more

Prices are ridiculously expensive. It wouldn't be so bad if they POSTED their prices. For instance, CorePower, 14 fluid oZ drink costs $6.75. Plus tax. This is at least double the price elsewhere. Then when you ask the cashier for prices, you get an unfriendly response. They don't show the prices because they want you to get nailed during check out.
