Here is my honest review of Hudson Landing having lived here for a bit. It is okay, but a bit of a let down for the price compared to other luxury buildings in the neighborhood.
Pros: units are a little bigger than comparable buildings in Port Authority area and great views from the apartment's huge windows. The communal outdoor space is great and the gym is above average compared to what you find at most places. The location is convenient if your commute is on the A/C/E line and once you pass 9th avenue 42nd street really isn't that bad
Cons: this building is clearly understaffed and does not live up to its luxury label. This isn't to say that the staff isn't nice or hard working, but they simply don't have enough people for a building with this many units.
For instance, only one person working the lobby, having to deal with packages, checking in guests, addressing issues. It really should be two for the size of this building. As a result it can take a long time to get packages and there isn't a doorman in case you come in carrying groceries or heavy bags. It also feels like anyone could sneak into the building if they really wanted to as the the one person monitoring the front is often caught up dealing with packages in the back room.
The biggest problem though is there is probably less than half the maintenance staff that most buildings this size have so you are routinely waiting 2-4 days to have your issues addressed, and not all of the maintenance staff is able to speak English. Not that they aren't helpful, but it makes it really difficult to get your issues resolved reliably and quickly. The units are nice but because of the understaffing a lot of small problems have slipped through the cracks over the years.
The building is also dealing with a cockroach problem, but to be fair that is common in New York City so I can't fault them too much but I do wonder if it would be resolved better if there was more maintenance staff.
Takeaway: if the building was properly staffed I would say that you get what you pay for. It feels expensive for what it is, but the reality is that is just the market today so can't really complain.
However, because the level of service is below expectations I don't think that this is a building that you can reliably live in long-term. Good for a short-term rental in a season of life but don't think that you can trust making this building your long-term home until it is properly staffed. Not sure what the buildings plans are but as of late-2026 I would say try your luck elsewhere.
Currently I give the building a 2.5/5 stars. If there was a full staff I would revise my rating to 4/5.
