This shop is a life saver!! Had my BMW on a AAA trailer and needed to go somewhere asap. After many failed attempts of trying to get an appointment at an import auto shop. I called this shop and spoke with Nahn. They technically did not have appointments for a few days. I explained my situation and that I was running out of options. He allowed me to drop the car off that same day (within 10 minutes of me calling) and said he might even be able to look at it same day, but if not first thing in the morning. What an awesome way to start a relationship with a mechanic. When I walked in I was greeted by Nahn the lead technician. They had a nice lobby and I noticed they had won awards for best Import auto shop in Columbus the past 4 years in a row going back to 2020. They had also won other awards in years prior to that as well. I thought this was awesome and was a testimony to their work. After dropping off keys and leaving the auto shop. Not more than 3 hours later I received a video and photo update as he already began to work on my car. Nahn is truly knowledgeable and stands behind his work. Since my original review of two years ago Nhan has definitely improved his speed of service and not only he goes above and beyond for customers. If you're afraid of the stealerships, come here. July 11, 2021 I attempted to setup an appointment with Mgr Nhan Le for car repair. He stated that they were presently very busy until early July. I said that would be fine with me. He immediately turned conversation to advising me to take my business elsewhere inferring that even July wouldn't be good directly contradicting his prior statement. He even suggested that I repair my car since I mentioned earlier that I'm capable but didn't feel like doing this repair. My car broke down exactly across the street from this auto shop today ( January 8, 2022) my right rear wheel caved in). Gentleman at the tire shop,(where it broke down) said for me to walk across the street to this shop. I walked in at around 3:30pm. Met the manager and just told him what happened. We could both see my car and had the worst reception in business I'd seen in a real long time. He said he couldn't look at it because they were closed. They close at 4:30 and it was 3:30. I said, "it's right there(pointed at the car) and he said "yeah, I see it. We're appointment only". "I'm sorry, but I didn't plan an appointment for my car to break down like this. You can't help at all"? "No. No, I can't". And he walked back in the back room. I live less than a mile away. The coldest response I've heard in a long time. I called another mechanic real close. Got it towed there within the hour and received an estimate. I will never, ever refer anyone to this place. read more

I wish I could give Hudson Import more than 5 stars! We've dealt with the owner, Nhan, every time, and he is very thorough, knowledgable, trustworthy, and generally a kind person. Anytime we've had an issue with either of our cars, he's explained the problem in detail and has even taken photos and videos to document exactly what needs to be repaired. The prices are very reasonable too. When we moved to Columbus a few years ago, we were worried about finding a good mechanic, but luckily we found this place. It is always a scary thing leaving a trusted mechanic and trying a new one, but driving to and from Lancaster to get our car fixed was wearing on us and the last straw was when our 'ol guy refused to work on the engine of our Subaru Outback- apparently they are difficult. So, after reading reviews on Google we tried Hudson Import Auto. Our Subaru stopped blowing heat at stops and randomly overheated- eek! Our fingers were crossed that it would be something cheap like a thermostat. No such luck. We got the diagnosis from Le (the friendly owner) that it was a blown head gasket AND a cracked head ($1,700.) Which, for that work, in a metropolitan area (and not done by "the guy down the street") was a fair price, but still painful. We considered getting a second opinion until we received an unsolicited glowing recommendation from a trusted friend. The Subaru is now fixed and running beautifully, and while the whole process wasn't without hiccups (communication misunderstandings, car getting hit by a contractor in the lot, etc.- I will spare you the gruesome details) we will continue to visit with Le in his quirky little hole-in-the-wall shop and soon in a beautiful new shop. Any difficulties/ bad luck we had was made up for and more. Wrap Up: He is an honest and quality mechanic with an incredible desire to please. His shop is expanding and, when complete, will be beautiful. It doesn't hurt that it is within walking distance from our house. His prices are fair and if you get your car fixed with him he waives any diagnosis fee. read more

DO NOT use Hudson Import Auto Services located at 759 Hudson Ave. Mr. Nhan is NOT knowledgeable in repairing or providing a correct diagnostic. I took my car in for repair and paid a LARGE amount of money within 7 days my car broke down. I went back and spoke to Mr. Nhan and he refused to repair my car without requesting more money. If he would had repaired it correctly the first time I would had not returned. In addition, please contact the Ohio ATTORNEY General's office he has had 7 complaints filed against his business since 2014. I am writing this review to help people because I would want someone to do the same for me. Go to the Attorney General's website and you can access all the complaints. This place was surprisingly clean and comfortable! I got estimates on front suspension work for an 01 Subaru Outback. Their estimate was almost half of what other garages quoted in the Campus/Clintonville area. I was doubtful, but Google reviews made me take the leap. I had them do the work and I feel like I saved a lot of money - and they threw in a free transmission flush. The owner seems like a stand up guy. EDIT - I would recommend this place if you know what the actual problem is and need an affordable fix. The weakness of this place deals with analysis. If you don't know the prob, they may not be able to figure it out either. read more

Love this place! I have been bringing my car(s) to Nhan for years and he is so great! He does exactly what needs to be done to keep me moving and is mindful about not recommending non-essential work since my car is very old anyways. He is fast, kind, and very responsive. Update 12/09/14 Nan, the owner contacted me and took another look at my Jeep and it's running great right now. Very nice guy and hopefully my vehicle won't need to go back to the garage anytime soon! Seems like he has new employees working for him that are friendly. Thank you! My '96 Jeep Cherokee was having issues not starting, so I took it here because I've been told it's good. After dropping $1000 on a new transmission (didn't seem like the problem at all) I took it home and a day or so later, it wouldn't start. The only nice thing was they paid for the towing, but my Jeep was in and out of the garage for about two months. It was very frustrating and the results are as follows: I got my Jeep back one time and my USB cable was missing. Use that for my phone with the radio and I always left it in there. Another time my change a drawer was empty. Couple bucks maybe. Since my final visit, my Check Engine light is now always on. I no longer have a bracket holding up my muffler. Apparently, they forgot to put that back on. And unfortunately, whenever it rains, it has a hard time starting which was the whole problem all along. A thousand dollars is a lot for me, and it was a lot of trouble not having my vehicle for two months 'and' I'm constantly wondering when it's just not going to start. It is an older vehicle, but they did not fix it very well, and the other "incidents" are very frustrating. I think the owner, Nan, is a nice guy, but the people working for him seem quetionable. I had some work done at this place once and when they were doing the work on the engine they broke one of the mounts that holds the air cleaner housing to the car. They didn't fix it when they broke it and they didn't tell me it was broken. It was rattling really bad so I took the car back and it took about three weeks fighting with him to get him to fix it. He wouldn't return multiple calls and basically tried to avoid me so I'd go away. I had to threaten a lawsuit and all these other avenues I had to go down to get him to fix something that he broke. This guy really did not know what he was doing when he brought in my car. After 2 days of looking through my car, he decided there were 4 things wrong that all needed to be replaced. I sent my car to my dealership for a second opinion and all they said was the ignition switch. A normal $500 repair was turned into over $1000 because this guy was unable to diagnose the problem and also could not put my car back into the working order I gave it to him. My dealership, when they got my car, had to not only diagnose the problem that I had, but also had to fix the car from all of the manipulation of this dealership. I was recommended to Hudson Imports/Nhan by a close friend. I stopped at the show while my car was still in the stages of diagnostic, I have Nissan Altima Hybrid and showed some paperwork from another issue I had a few months back. Nhan advised that the issue he came up with was the same I had previously. I then had my car towed to the dealership, as I was still under warranty for parts and labor. The issue was not the same and the dealership advised it was a totally different problem, heavy sigh! Why did I just pay $95 for a diagnostic and the issue is completely different and another tow, geesh! One top of that, parts were missing in vehicle, as they were not replaced after the diagnostic completed or once speaking with me to explain the issue and me advising the car would be taken to the dealership, heavy sigh! When speaking with Nhan about the missing parts, he advised they were still at his shop, not sure why this wasn't noticed before the dealership notified me and then me bringing it to his attention, he stated he would but the parts back in the car once it was running, not an option I advised. As stated, I used Hudson Imports on the recommendation of a friend and not wanting to pay dealership prices, b/c they nickel and dime people for EVERYTHING. But such is life, make sure to ask if all your parts are placed back in your car before another tow or leaving, make sure the complete paperwork is done when you arrive for your vehicle (another issue, this was NOT done when I showed up to pay and have my car towed). read more

Nam, has been working on my vehicles since 2000. I recommend him to my family and friends all the time. If you have a foreign vehicle, I definitely recommend you taking it to Nam. I took my audi to some mechanic who made worse. He Had my car for 6 months before I decided to get it to Nam. Nam actually fixed the other guys screw up and saved me $1000.00. This shop did several jobs on my 2004 Nissan after the work i notice a code coming on that should not be indicating an exhaust leak after a timing chain was replace, Also they work on the fuel gauge i pass on to the owner that the gauge was not working on second trip he gave me a price an i agree to it ,Keep in mind the car always started after he finished in the tank the gauge works but the car start on warm days sometime and on cold day it sit in my driveway waiting for a hot day i can only assume he failed to put something back where it suppose to be.Sad i paid $1000.00 or more on repairs and the car is just sitting. If you want to save yourself time, money and hassle, I would not step foot into this service center. For starters, I was a little late bringing the vehicle in on the tow truck - my appointment was 10am and I arrived at 11:30 am. The owner said he did not have room for my vehicle on his lot because I was late. I had to leave the car on the public street outside of the service lot and I returned the next day to push it on his lot. They kept my Saab 93 for 2 months. Different technicians told me different stories as to diagnosis and they were all confused when I reiterated the version that I was told by another technician. Finally, the owner began consistently telling me that he was waiting on a part which was on back order for 5 weeks - his story stayed the same until I went in yesterday (after 2 months) and he said it has been "put back together" for 2 weeks waiting for me to pick it up. I have audio recording of him stating "we can't do anymore on that," "we don't know what we doing on that." Back to square one. These people are a joke. Save your time and money and keep looking elsewhere read more
